  1. No, just financially - then two lines of their own would be competing, and they'd lose money in the long run.
  2. Cutty, No handicaps, I think. There was a stink about that in the mecha contest. However, neither size nor impressiveness will play a part in the judging (except of course in the giant monster contest for obvious reasons, and the lookalike because it should be in scale), so even a small but creative monster is a contender! If a photo is too large for the boards, the mods can change it to a link. Otherwise, as long as adequate 'coverage' of the monster is provided, I don't think there'll be a problem. Hope that helps!
  3. I think that would go under Look-A-Likes. The rest are supposed to be original monsters.
  4. Modifying my list... 1. Monty Python and the Holy Grail 2. Sin City 3. The Shawshank Redemption 4. The Usual Suspects 5. The Matrix 6. Donnie Darko 7. Se7en (fitting, isn't it?) 8. Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King 9. Silence of the Lambs 10. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest I've been seeing a lot of fantastic movies lately!
  5. Hey man, enjoy the boards! ;)
  6. I think a space Alpha Team would be cool. It'd give them a great excuse for another space line.
  7. Happy birthday man! Have a great one! *satis*
  8. I've seen the entire season already. We get the DVD in a month. :P The monster is... just kidding! :-D
  9. The chalkboard seems exhausted for now. I think we should move on to the other door in the hallway.
  10. Send me it afterwards. :P Seriously though, I'd love to see an inventory, if that's possible. If it isn't, just a picture of the pieces sorted on the table, like this, so I can see what I'd be paying for (I'm considering getting one from the UK).
  11. 'Track Topic' at the bottom of a thread will do pretty much the same thing, but it notifies you by e-mail instead of on the forum... that's about the only thing I can suggest!
  12. I WISH I had a pab that close... :/ Same here. Nearest one to me is a good 200 miles away.
  13. That's still only $3 or so per figure. I mean, are we complaining here...? ;) Besides, most of the time, LEGO doesn't include minifigs in the piece count, so it's probably 203 pieces + 8 figures. I'm guessing we'll get, I don't know, a reindeer, a tree, a santa... the usual. Oh yeah, and that makes one more leak of ours confirmed. Take that, skeptics! :P
  14. I'll front page this ASAP. Only 8 figures, though!
  15. You could buy the bricks for that on Bricklink for like $50 - if that - and if you can't build it yourself, you could pay any experienced builder like $20 to make instructions. What a ripoff!
  16. They are my second If you can read this They are my second They are in my house I hear the premise (Reperio Typicus) I have left my premise for you If you enter/between Slow writing tablet My voice is safe Nevertheless, I can not (alica is) They know my name Be careful You enter/between danger (Rumex - lance?) My Latin is not good. He got his conjugation all wrong... I don't get the 'slow writing tablet' part, though. I'm assuming he's talking about the chalkboard, but I don't get how that fits in.
  17. One for Jonfett, who sent me a great Viking Catapult and his extra sticker! Thanks Jon! :-D
  18. Makes me wonder. Should, should not. Should. You DEFINITELY should. With me. At $0.10 per four coins. Definitely. *wub*
  19. Yes, I've seen those, Imperial John (old buddy old pal old chum) got a few bags. Ah, if only if only.
  20. Stephen King, out of place in that collection? Not a chance! HP Lovecraft was famous for his tales of the Old Ones, especially Cthulu... he was practically the father of modern demonic horror. Not to mention Dante Alighieri, of the Divine Comedy and more specifically Dante's Inferno, which was considered horrific when it was written, and Poe, whom we all know about. The Picture of Dorian Gray does sound like an odd choice, though - a very interesting novel. It was about a man who had a painting of himself that grew older instead of himself, allowing Dorian to live forever, with a catch - he could never see the portrait, or he would die. Edward Arlington Robinson wrote such things as 'Old King Cole'. The rest look like standard mystery, except the ghost novels - perhaps those lights in the windows we were notified of earlier? The lighthouse novels are very interesting indeed, though... that's an odd thing for him to have. I say we flip to the bookmarks and see what they open to.
  21. A glowing review for SuvieD, who sent me 22 BURPs and two unexpected archery targets! Awesome transaction!
  22. Oh, oops. Didn't see the PM. Sorry! You'll get one back soon... Re Phes: I know the feeling, or rather, I will soon...
  23. I'm screaming for 'Danju's Magenta Stronghold'. Seriously. I mean, think of all the purple.
  24. Hey all, Chewie, yoda, and I were chatting about this earlier. The Europeans get to have their event in Windsor next year, so why not have the North Americans meet up at Brickfest '06? Looking at the costs from this year's Brickfest, it wouldn't be that bad at all. Hotel stay at Comfort Inn is $110 per night for any size room, and Brickfest entry is $60. I could arrange to have a display table for Eurobricks, if people wanted to bring MOCs, or if we wanted to do a Moonbase-like project or something. If that were to happen, we'd probably meet up on Thursday, set up our MOCs (Thursday is the setup day), hang out, and then go to Brickfest on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, leaving Sunday evening. Brickfest usually happens around mid-August, to give you an idea of the timeframe. I sent an e-mail to Comfort Inn regarding the limit of people per room, but I say, jam as many people in as we can. Talking it over with the guys, we decided a good number would be eight in the largest room possible. This would make it $41.25 per person for hotel stay for the three nights, or roundabouts, if we didn't mind sharing a room. Doesn't include meals, but that should be pretty cheap. So, what say you, North Americans? Who's interested? Summoning the ranks, Bloody Jay
  25. http://www.legofan.org/BrickFest/Rare_Part...2005.lfp#images Holy shizzle. I want that food! Oh, and the Viking accessories. ;)
