[MOC] YT-2001 - S 04 Light Freighter "Night Shadow"
FTG Prime replied to FTG Prime's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks man ! :D Thank you dude glad you like it ! Hey Kit No worries man i'm glad you were atleast able to see it since you are one of my fav builders i wanted you to see it, and yeah it's kinda a design flaw to have only one docking tube xD I actually tought of giving it a full interior at some point, i ultimately decided against it since it would've been rushed and not entirely the way i would want it to be, plus i tried to focus on the outside look and overall estructure, but hey i may come back to this some day ! And good luck on running for 3rd place ;) JK i seriously hope you win something man ! You totally deserve it ! In the best case scenario maybe we'll both win something !- 8 replies

Hello everyone, When the Rebrick contest was announced i was very excited to enter, more so because you get to design your own YT design, a day or so after the contest went up i started drawing my concepts. (WARNING !!: Creppy drawings incoming !) As you can see the final design it's basiclly a rotated Falcon design, the docking tube is now on the back, instead of having two it has one with the cockpit on it, i moved the engines and added two more and so on. Now i had to build it... and that's were the fun began ! So i proudly present you *drums play* the Night Shadow. And here's a crappy description of it: Equipped with a dual new generation SRB45 sublight engine & 2 ion engines: "She's so fast you won't be able to see her shadow". With heavy canons and turrets she has more that your avarage light freighter. Here are some fun facts about the model -This build was heavily inspired by the brilliant new UCS Falcon and Marshall Banana's legendary MOC, since they're the ultimate renditions of the YT-1300 in my opinion, it only made sense to me to base this model after those, plus it gives it the messy Corellian Freighter look i was going for. - I went for a UCS/minifig scale to add as much detail as possible. -I came up with the design after 3 attemps (as seen on the drawings), it was inspired by the YV-560, YT-1300, YT-2400, The Phantom and a hamburger. -The model (YT-2001) and it's service tag (S-04) are a reference to the birth date and name of someone really important to me -I wanted to give it the kitbashed look that the Falcon has, since they used that technique on the actual prop, i used a variety of pieces for this, from tiles to minifig accesories, have fun looking at the greebling ! -It took me about 3 weeks to finish this ship, from the concept art to the final renders. -This model has 3980 pieces and was built on LDD and rendered on Bluerender (since i didn't have the money to build this). -This model is ment to be in scale with minifigs & the new UCS Falcon. Here are some extra pictures of it: So there ya go ! I hope you all like it, if you do or don't please leave your thoughts ! I am more than happy to recieve feedback. Here's the Rebrick entry in case you wanna take a look at this and the rest of the awesome entries: https://www.lego.com/en-us/rebrick/view-entry?c_id={D9DDC962-F589-417F-AE7A-3F6807969D67}&a_id=8da905d9-ba0d-421d-87d7-bb759d48c8ae May the force be with you ! -Prime

[PRESS RELEASE] 75192 - UCS Millennium Falcon 2017
FTG Prime replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Agreed on the dark grey on the mandibles, specially the one strip found on the left one, i personally don't like the use of so many 1x1 tan tiles and olive green tiles on the hull so i might change that out, might MOD the two interior spaces we got since they're not that accurate both proportions and positions (altho i get why they had to make them that way) and i personally will do a lot of work on the underside of the thing, still thinking about doing a base for it. You plan on doing anything else ? :) -

Hello everyone, I am super excited to finally show you my new and improved DCEU Batmobile. If you remember, last year i built a BvS Batmobile and i actually sold a lot of it's instructions, first of all i want to thank everyone who bought those ! However i felt like that model didn't make Patrick Tatopoulos amazing design justice. Thanks to the feedback that a lot of you guys provided i was able to improve upon those areas. My main goals for this new model were: -Being able to change looks from BvS to Jl. -Be more stable on the wheel connections. -Make the wheelguards more stable. -Make it smaller. -Use the "new" windshield piece. Which led me to some intense months of building and testing. But i am very pleased with the final result, not only is it in better scale compared to a minifg, but it's also more accurate in some areas. One of which i am very proud of are the wheel guards. Here's the BvS configuration, and by far my favorite i think Patrick Tatopoulos and his team did a great job with the design so it was very important for me to get it right this time. Fun fact: this was the first variant i did, i just modded it to change the look to how it appears on JL & SS. So here's the SS configuration, it's basiclly the same as BvS except it doesn't have the turret on, So as you can see this is way smaller, and more accurate in scale with a minifig, i would say it's still waaaay too big to be in proper scale but it's definetly better than the previous one. Here's the front of the thing. It's slimmer and prettier than my previous model imo, not to mention that it is a bit more accurate, i must say that i rally like the use of the grey Galaxy guns to represent the flaps that the car has IRL. (sorry for the blurry pic there) Here's the side of the thing, I must admit that the previous model had more details on the side but i think this looks fine, especially considering this is way smaller. I want to point out that the orange piece does not exist on the actual JL car, i just added it for the sake of having different colors on it, the piece also exists on Dark Bluish Grey so that's a easy fix if you don't like it. Here's the back of the thing, By far one of my favorite views of the model, it may lack some of the details my previous model had but i like this a lot more, i think the wheel guards look really good in this angle too which just adds to the overall look. I also tried some new techniques which help get the look right. And i also tried a new building instructions software which makes for some LEGO quality building experience which i hope you all enjoy. If you want to check it out you can click the image on my signature I hope you all like this as much as i do, as always feedback is much apreciated ! Regards -Prime

Yeah i get that, perphaps i said things in the wrong way, the nose is were i personally have some issues, may be that it looks a bit chubby maybe make it a bit longer ?
-
From the Astromech unit port to the back enginees i think this looks quite spot on, however the whole nose area looks a bit odd to me. Maybe the use of tiles over the wedge plate or the angle of the canopy i don't really know, it could be however that i'm too used to seeing mine , but if i'm being honest i'm being too nitpicky lol, the X-Wing is one of the hardest models to do afterall. Regards ! -Prime

Hello everyone !! I've been a huge fan of the Tumbler most of my life, it's my favorite Batmobile... mainly because this is the one i grew up with, i remember having set 7888 back when i had 8 and being blown away by how "accurate" it was (man i was soooo wrong). I eventually realized this and tried several times to make a Tumbler that was accurate and minifig scale specially after i saw the real thing back on 2012 this wish became more intense but i ultimatelly failed almost every time (You can actually see most of those in my Flickr page...please don't) something was missing... while i was on my free time (this is last year btw) i popped on the BTS disk of Batman Begins for the 100th time lol, the making of the tumbler featurette always inspires me, the whole process of how Nolan planned and how the made it work is just so amazing to me, so i gave it a last try.... fortunally for my own mental sanity... i did it. Here's my Tumbler, i tried to recreate every little thing i could while keeping it down in scale, unfortunally this is waaay too big for 100% minifig scale but i don't care lol. I know it's missing the gold bits near the nose, i re-created those with some levers which i actually painted gold i just switched them back to some black ones so it wouldn't hurt you purist guys concience Needless to say that all the angles were a nightmare to re-create, a fun nightmare non the less, all of them had to look perfect otherwise my perfectionist mind would constantly have an issue with it lol, that's why i call this the "Ultimate Tumbler" because for me it is what i would consider Ultimate within my own standards... now that i think of it, the title does sound a bit too clickbaitty for my taste,,,, ah screw it i'm sticking with it. Here's a side view of the thing. By far one of the parts i'm the happiest with is the back, sure the springs are waay to big and are not in an angle & the handle isn't as big as it should but i think it looks fairly well compared with the real vehicle. Now i hear you say..."Looks neat and all Prime but does it fit a fig?" and the answer is: Yes ! it fits two minifigs as a matter of fact. And that's about it, this has to be my favorite MOC i've done, it was such a fun ride to do and i'm really happy with the result, i actually uploaded this to the Rebrick contest Best of Batman so if you wanna check the page and leave a like and what not over there here's the link: https://www.lego.com/en-us/rebrick/view-entry?c_id={DE2F0F7A-957B-44D3-86D1-F329CD6323C8}&a_id=7f0150b1-5235-49de-a3f8-ac949f8f6739&sortEntry=true Now that the plug is over, thank you guys so much for taking the time to read this, so if you could go trought my usual horrible grammar and spelling well congrats ! Hope you have a great day ! -Prime

Hi Pierre, That's one impressive looking SSD you got there ! And it ain't even finished !! It seriously looks amazing and i'm anxious to see more of it, oh and welcome to Eurobricks BTW
-
Man you did such a great job capturing the design of the A-Wing, love how you used round bricks & cones to get the shape right, that's just brilliant in my opinion, and it's not even finished ! (acording to you) looking forward to seeing the full squad :)

This looks incredible ! the amount of detail that's into this amazes me, the fact that you also modded/created your own TIE Advanced and a X-Wing also deserves recognition, great job !
