Got 7906 Fireboat today as an impulse purchase from Woolworths. It was

My dark ages occured somewhere between (13-15)-20. Somewhere between those I stopped thinking about LEGO and supposedly started thinking about my studies. Hehe, not likely. In fact, I dont know what it was that made me less interested in LEGO. For the last couple of years I had started visiting LEGO.com just out of boredom. No other sites to visit? Yeah, I'd visit LEGO, just to see if there was anything new. It wasn't until about Feb this year that there was a post on Digg.com about Cafe Corner. This was when I took notice. And I've been going strong since then (And making myself broke). :-P

http://www.ngltc.org/train_depot/td.htm It's primarily for planning train layouts, but it allows you to place baseplates and a few common sets, and you can add your own custom items, so it's perfectly good for city planning.

I too would like more normal town/city stuff, but having only one Police station (And it being 2005's crappy one at that), a new one would be very welcome. Especially if it's done as well as this years firestation. I also like the sound of the Police water plane, but why is it under a new "Action" line rather than "CITY"? Weird, perhaps it's got the boat motor attached to the bottom.

Is it possible these could be small minifig packs? Kind of in line with some of the items out of the Advent Calendar. ie. the Street Cleaner could have a worker and his little trash cart?

Which is better, Star TREK or Star WARS?
Mr Hobbles replied to vahkimetru's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I'm a bit surprised there's no Battlestar Galactica, but anywho... It was a tough call between Star Wars and Stargate. I've never been a fan of Star Trek (Bar a couple of the movies) and Star Wars is simply awesome, but then again I do love a good episode of Stargate. *y* I voted for Star Wars in the end. :-) -
Apparently he had a parachute with him. The article says first time he did it he tried popping the balloons with a BB gun by he was descending too rapidly and so had to jump off the chair and use the parachute.

...in a lawn chair. http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/07/10/flying.la...r.ap/index.html This is simply AWESOME. Ingenious. Highly dangerous, but who cares! *y* (Goes to buy a lawn chair and some balloons) Seriously, this is on my todo list before I die. :-D

Die Hard 4.0 (Or as the American's call it, Live Free or Die Hard, which is a much better title...) I loved it. It is a very different movie to the first three, but it's still a great action movie. Bruce Willis has still got it, and Mac-guy is awesome. Oh, and Timothy Olyphant is one of my favourite actors ever. *y* :-D

Our very own Yoda posted reviews of the Service Station, the Cement Truck and the Garbage Truck, and he also posted pictures of them inside the service station. In short, yes they fit, but they are quite a tight squeeze. Here's a picture: Here's a link to the gallery.

Never tried vanilla Coke, but lime Coke is awesome. FTW! I used to use molds and stuff to make chocolates. If I got one of these with my next order I'd be quite happy and would make lots of LEGO chocolates! Something else I used to do...remember the chocolate advent calendars you get? Well, once they're done, rip them apart and take out the plastic insert. Instant mold to make Christmas chocolates!

I've just checked on Ryanair's site...I have to fly Edinburgh > Dublin > Billund. Which is fair enough, since I was going to have to fly Edinburgh > Amsterdam > Billund anyway. I picked two random dates four days apart (Since they don't go as far ahead as April 2008 yet) and it came to around about

Im really looking forward to this too! Can't wait, been looking into flights already.

Absolutely, I wasn't taking potshots, and I didn't think the debate was that heated. However I agree with you, a post with the title "What kind of cellular phone do you have?" doesn't really ask for a Mac vs. PC discussion. I've been reading so much over the past few days on sites such as Digg, Engadget and Gizmodo, who have taken to covering every aspect of the iPhone, from people queueing outside stores to how the text-messaging works. Constant posts by fanboys from one camp or the other, such as "iPhone sucks" or "Windows sucks" really grate on me, just like they do in Mac vs. PC debates. I just couldn't resist stepping in to discuss it with someone who can write more than two derogatory words on the subject. :-D I use both a Mac and a PC. I'm a developer too, both application and web. I use both, with no real preference for one or the other. And I love both. :-)

Yeah, in the UK "hoovering" is very commonly used in place of vaccuming. Has been since the '80s I think. I also think the iPod/MP3 player thing is creeping up on us too, as many people think all MP3 players are iPods. My opinion on the iPhone is a bit weird. I don't like the design, and I much prefer the pure aluminium designs they've put out in the past. In addition, it lacks certain features than I class as essential such as MMS. It has a pretty low spec camera, and it's not capable of video recording. On the flip side, I love the interface. Everything is so well laid out and intuitive, unlike many other phones out there. The multi-touch display is awesome in my opinion, with so much potential. Brainbox: True, I guess it's not really a feature, but I was using it as yet another example in my post to show how phones can be useful and/or take over your life. :-D Sinner: Sure, Apple may have struggled in the past creating an operating system, but they're there now, and now they have got an operating system. It doesn't matter how they got there, the end product is one of the best operating systems out there. As for their hardware, it's simply not true that they're over priced. Since they moved to Intel chips there have been many comparisons made between Apple and other PC manufacturers, princing out like for like comparisons. In general they've found out either: 1) that Apple are only slightly more expensive, in the range of $50-100 more, 2) cost nearly the exact same, or 3) that the other manufacturer is more expensive! (Dell in this case). If you want I'll search out the links for these articles when I have time.

I used to feel the same way about phone with additional features when I first got a phone. But then I got a phone with a built in camera. It turned out to be a good way of recording random moments with friends which couldn't be planned. The type of photo you could show them five years down the line and say "Remember when...!" and you'd all burst into laughter. But then I also turned into a bit of a gadget freak. My current phone as I mentioned is an Orange SPV M3100, which is a Windows Mobile "smartphone". This thing does everything except the dishes! I use just about every function of it now. The camera is good enough (3 megapixels) that it's replaced my digital camera. I add "Tasks" to the phone like "Pay electricity bill" and it'll show a reminder on the day it needs to be paid. I not only send text messages on it, but I synchronise my email messages with my account so my phone alerts me when I have a new email and I can read it on my phone. It has MSN Messenger on it so I can chat to my friends on the train. It has Bluetooth so I can send photos for free to people I'm with, and Wifi so I can browse the internet for free whenever I'm within range of a hotspot. I could go on and on... On top of replacing my camera any any possible diary or planner I could have, it's also replaced my watch as I just check the time on the screen when I need to know, and it's replaced my alarm clock as I use the built in function. It's not for everyone, but I can't think how I'd live my life without this thing now! I'd forget to pay all my bills, and never get up in the morning!

I had a Nokia N80 up until last week, then my contract went up for "negotiation" :-D Ended up renewing my contract and getting an Orange SPV M3100 (Which is actually a HTC TyTN, a Windows Mobile device). I love my phone. X-D

Oceans Thirteen. Way better than Oceans Twelve, and in fact almost on par with Oceans Eleven! I really liked it, it's very clever. :-)

I'm wondering about this game too, that fire place looks fun! Although, do they still allow us "grown-ups" on these rides?

Not as a poor uni student who needs to save up cash and possibly book as early as possible to get the cheapest deals. :-D

Hey guys, I'm thinking I want to make the next meet in 2008 at Billund. I've been to Windsor once before but that's it. It'll be nice to go to the home of it all! *y* When is the event scheduled (ie. dates)? Any other info? I really want to come. :-) Cheers!

Ahh I see, so there's no external difference and you could place them onto studs no problem? Cheers!

Mine is 6665 River Runners: I was bought this set as a kid during a holiday in Norway and I absolutely love it. I still do, I think it's so simple yet so awesome. :-)

I can't remember where it was but I remember reading an interview with a set designer. The designer stated that they were all given assignments within a specific theme, to meet a specific price point. So no matter how many pieces the set has, it must meet the price point they are given. Its fair enough that you would have appreciated 35 more pieces for, what, maybe 40-60p more? But they don't dictate the price point, LEGO does. 7991 is what they guy came up with for the

Can someone tell me the difference between a magnet minifig and a normal one? Does it have a large magnet sticking out the back? Or is it inside? Can the pieces be taken apart, etc?
