  1. OH MY GOD I AM SO EXCITED I SIMPLY MUST TYPE IN CAPS! Seriously, WOW. TLC is gonna be getting even more of my money than I imagined. I literally squealed like a little girl when I saw those pictures. :-( Ah well, it was worth the humiliation. X-D
  2. As simonwillems said, they're part of LEGO's modular building's line of sets, but there's no specific name for the theme. However, Market Street comes from the "LEGO Factory" line, and Cafe Corner and Green Grocer are part of "Creator".
  3. I have the English version (UK), I've had it since I was about 10 years old I think! Funny you should mention it actually, I had a flick through it again the other week. I think it's a really good book, with lots of info on the behind-the-scenes of LEGOLAND, and showing how sets are designed and things. There is LOTS and LOTS of inspiration in these books...everything is just so beautiful. :-D
  4. Oh my God. Yet another MUST HAVE for me! Thanks for the pics, seriously! *wub* *y* X-D
  5. I have the big passenger plane so I'll be passing on this one. One big <insert that tiresome argument> plane is enough for me! If I didn't have the passenger plane though I'd rather get the Cargo plane. There's enough Police in my city as it is!
  6. Hmm I like the concept, a bit too "kidish" for me though. I like my town/city realism. :-P 8631 and 8632 seem kinda cool though...
  7. Saw I Am Legend, very very good! Will Smith as awesome as usual. A worthy DVD purchase methinks.
  8. The problem with posts like these is that I have to vote for every one of them, yet I don't buy any theme other than CITY and so I can't vote for a City minifig without skewing the results for the others (Because I don't know enough about them). Any way around that?
  9. TF2 kicks serious butt, awesome game! Have you completed Portal yet? X-D
  10. I am SOO buying this set. To the people asking about scale: I doubt it'll fit minifig, fabuland or technic. Maybe Belville, but I doubt it. I think it's meant to be the same scale as the cars you find dotted around LEGOLAND.
  11. I used to keep then, then I got far too many. Threw them all out. I don't keep any now.
  12. I gotta agree with you. Nothing I've seen of 2008 has come close to the stuff of 2007, bar the post plane and the truck and forklift (And town plan!) Back on topic though, the 4wd with jetski is slightly better than I expected. Think I might be picking this one up!
  13. Very nice, cheers Yoda! I'll definitely be getting the post van, not sure about the plane though. Both are awesome, but I think I have enough planes... Can you tell me though, the wheels on the van, are they rubber or plastic? They look a bit tacky...
  14. Hellooooooooo from 2008! Happy new year to all! Hope 2008 is even better than 2007 for all of you. Any New Years Resolutions yet?
  15. Ahhh that Quad bike is way better than the other sets in the Coast Guard theme so far imo. I think I'll be purchasing that! I can't wait to see what the 4WD+Jet Bike looks like either. Hopefully it'll be better than that monstrosity of a truck and boat. :-P
  16. Hmm, that Coast Guard boat doesn't look too bad. Just conjecturing, but it does look a *little* <insert that tiresome argument>, but we'll see when it comes out. Looking forward to seeing more of that set! ;-) Undecided on the Agents sets...need to see more (Half the pic is obscured by glare). Looks interesting though. (Still hating the Coast Guard jeep though! :-X )
  17. Not at all, in fact I'm hating the pictures of the Coast Guard sets so far. The helicopter seemed OK until I'd seen what they'd done with that truck. Now it leads me to believe that the helicopter is just another in a series of sets designed to appeal to kids who like to play with oversized toys. I agree completely - Too large and too <insert that tiresome argument>. Oh and Yoda, it's not just 8-wide, it's got extra wide tyres! It's probably at LEAST 10-wide!
  18. Excellent, thanks for the new pics! I really like the two new City inpulse sets. The street sweeper is quite cool and the little kayak dude is just awesome. I HATE the 4x4 Coastguard truck. Why does it have to be so big! It dwarfs its minifig! The boat isn't too bad (I quite like it actually...), but the truck makes me go bleh. :-X
  19. Just got around to building my new gaming rig, now that the Christmas festivities are over. First thing I did - Installed Crysis and cranked the details and resolution up to maximum. Such a beautiful game! X-D
  20. Bah humbug, still not available in the UK. Come on LEGO, don't let me down now! X-D
  21. My parents got me this for my 8th birthday when I lived in Spain, I remember it being awesome. :-D Used to love playing with it in the bath tup. Found the hull in my old LEGO box the other day...shame it's completely yellowed. :-(
  22. Ahh sometimes the oldies really are the greatest. This looks awesome. Thanks for the review!
  23. Aha, excellent. I simply must have this set! Both the town hall and the cinema look like it would fit perfectly with Cafe Corner and Market Street (Especially once the town hall is given a sidewalk/pavement). Not too sure about the gas station, although it looks really nice on its own! The fountain would also fit into a park or something perfectly. As for the cars, well, can never have too many cars in your LEGO city!

Very nice! I have to agree, so much nicer than the official LEGO one released years ago. I'm gonna have a go at building my own at some point, seems so simple to make. Nice one! :-)
  25. Aha, I knew I had to get this set when we saw the first pictures. Cheers for the review Yoda! About the design on the front of the trucks - I'm have mixed feelings. I absolutely love it on this set, but for some reason it looks crap on the front of the Police Truck. Doesn't matter to me though, I had no desire to get the Police Truck. I gotta agree, the truck is really nice, but the best part of the set is the forklift. It looks awesome!
