  1. Hey guys, I'm looking to contact someone on BrickShelf, specifically the owner of this gallery. I want to ask him if he still has the original MLCad files he used to create that and if he would send them to me. Does anyone know how to track down a person on BrickShelf? Does anybody know him who can put me in touch with him? Many thanks.
  2. Personally, I am LUVIN it. Firstly, I thought the movie was an atrocity. A disgrace to the Star Wars name. But I won't go any further. Episode 1 of the TV show was also quite disappointing (but not on the same scale as the movie). Episode 2 was pretty decent, episode 3 was even better, and 4 was better still. The best for me was definitely episode 5 though. I really enjoyed it, it was nice to see more of the clones working together as a team and also being introduced to them. As someone who was very skeptical of the animated series and if it would work before it came out, I'm definitely starting to warm up to it (If I haven't already). I constantly can't wait until the next week, it's beginning to grip me!
  3. Playing Battlefield: Bad Company and Braid on the Xbox 360. Both are excellent. Highly recommended! Also bought the Spore on the PC and Spore Origins for the iPhone. Spore Origins is lots of fun but I haven't had a chance to play Spore yet, I'm waiting until my current job is finished so I can reformat my PC. Then I'll play it.
  4. I remember having this set when it was originally released a good few years back, but I don't think I have it anymore. I remember I thought it was really awesome though. I thought the oven and pizza storage in the back of the car were the greatest parts, the little sink on the inside was cool too. Didn't realise they had made a Legends set out of it... I'd love to own this set again, but MISB examples on Bricklink go for an extortionate amount of money. Ah well, se la vie...
  5. Actually, now that I think about it, it may have been this one: First one after the dark ages was definitely:
  6. On the 360 still playing lots of GTA4 and also a bit of Kane & Lynch: Dead Men. On the PC playing a bit of Star Wars: Knights of the old Republic.
  7. Many many recently! The Dark Knight: All that needs to be said about this movie has already been said. Simply astounding. The Clone Wars: Meh. I'd be happy to wipe that abomination from my head and pretend it never existed. The first 20 minutes were great though. 300: Hadn't seen it before so rented it. Great movie, awesome effects, cool story...just great. Rendition: Very good. Liked the twist at the end. Super Size Me: Another great movie! Fun to watch, very informative. As a lover of the Michael Moore movies I would say this was slightly better, just because it wasn't an over dramacized political rant! Reign Over Me: Hate Adam Sandler normally (I don't like his type of comedy), but he's awesome in this. He has a serious role for once and it's a highly enjoyable movie. Anchorman: Hated it. But then I hate Will Ferrel. For the same reason I hate Adam Sandler normally. It just wasn't funny. Borat: Hilarious! How they got away with all that stuff is unbelievable. Sacha Baron Cohen is the MAN! Nacho Libre: Jack Black on top form. Found it very funny and delightful. It was good to see a proper comedy movie for once. Borat was good, but it was cringeworthy funny. This is proper funny. Air Force One: On recommendation from a friend and really enjoyed it. He says it's his favourite movie of all time. I wouldn't go that far but it is quite good. Phew. If anyone's wondering, I took out a LOVEFiLM subscription recently.

    City '09?

Yup. Another year of spending far too much money on LEGO. As well as the fact that I still have to buy 10185 Green Grocery and 10184 Town Plan, I now have to buy: 8401 City Life 7635 Horse, Car and Trailer 7637 Farm & Tractor 7636 Combine Harvester I could also be persuaded by the Pirate Ship and the Port sets. I'm not too bothered about the construction sets though, the large majority of them are oversized and the others are <insert that tiresome argument>. They wouldn't be so bad though if I didn't already have all of the old 2005 construction sets. For me the real gem in 2009 is gonna be the Farm sets. They're outstanding.
  9. Found this via Boing Boing: http://www.lego.com/education/news/default...t&l2id=17_1 Seems like it's a new robotics kit for classrooms. Looks very limited (Only two ports, one for motor and one for a sensor), and must be plugged into a computer to function. Comes with a motor, tilt sensor, motion sensor and USB hub to plug into PC. Looks like it's PowerFunctions compatible. The software also seems to be PC, Mac AND OLPC compatible. Check out the link for more info.

    City 2009

I'm expecting a rework of the Hospital theme. We've seen Fire, Police redone, and Coastguard, so it's logical they'd go back to the medical sets. I anticipate a new Hospital, an ambulance, and maybe a doctors car. Construction sets may also be revisited as it's also been a while. I also am waiting for the next modular building set. Jamie Berard said in an interview that he had already finished designing it, so we pretty much know it's coming. Also the new power function trains. LEGO said we'd see an AFOL focussed set as the first in the range. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for more civilian stuff such as houses, banks, shops, etc, but I think it's more likely we'll see them (If at all) in 2010 due to LEGO asking for ideas.
  11. Finished Assassin's Creed last night and catching up with some EVE Online today. Hopping in and out of Company of Heroes.
  12. EVE: The Empyrean Age by Tony Gonzales. First book I've read in about 10 years (I'm not a big reader. ), and I'm only reading it as it's the book of one of my favourite games.
  13. WALL-E: Decidedly underwhelming and perhaps even disappointing. While I loved the concept and theme I thought it was quite poorly executed. The first thirty minutes of the movie were brilliant, but I didn't care for the rest. Gonna go see The Dark Night on either Thursday or Friday. WALL-E was rated highly and disappointed me, I hope The Dark Knight doesn't.
  14. It's a promotional item made by LEGO under contract for a Danish energy company called Vestas. Noone knows how much it'll cost, but they'll probably just give it away to a selection of customers. It's probably only a small run so nowhere near as many copies as a normal distribution.
  15. I can see myself investing in these. The first set has 69 pieces so I reckon it's gonna be priced less than £15. A nice little model to have on display!
  16. Playing some Company of Heroes recently.
  17. Consider it signed! I want this set SOOO badly!
  18. This is nothing short of AMAZING. I will do everything possible to get this set, including robbing, maiming, murdering and anything else*! *Disclaimer: I won't actually do these things. ;)
  19. Recently I've seen three films: Indy 4: Very enjoyable, but the last 20 minutes were a massive letdown. But apart from that I thought it was very good. The Incredible Hulk: Not bad, but not a patch on Iron Man. For some reason left me a bit unfulfilled. Ed Norton was good, but he wasn't given much to work with. I liked the tie in with Iron Man at the end though. In Bruges: Best film I've seen this year so far. Period. Such an unusual story coupled with awesome acting and characters which you actually felt for. I think I actually shed a tear during it!
  20. Bought 7733 Truck & Forklift today! First Lego set I've bought in quite a while, mostly due to brokeness. A very nice little set! Just gotta save up now for 10185 Green Grocer.
  21. I'm not special enough to have my own set.
  22. Still playing GTA IV and recently bought Assassin's Creed. Also replaying Splinter Cell: Double Agent. All on the Xbox 360.
  23. I think over here it depends on the course. I had to do a 6 month dissertation and project. I know you also have to do them for masters and doctorates too. Cheers for signing up but get a friend or two on and play against each other! My friends tell me its fun. :)
  24. Hey, sorry guys but I just had to post this...has my last EVER day of uni today! I'm officially finished! My dissertation and project were handed in last week and today I had my final presentation. Also had my honours showcase today where I sat in a steaming hot room with all my friends for two hours, showing off our projects to prospective employers who had come to have a look. My project and dissertation was a study into how web technologies could be used in the development of cross-platform multiplayer games. I developed an actual game prototype, you can find it at http://www.warzonegame.com (Be gentle, it's on an old Pentium 3 server sitting under my coffee table!). If you're curious and want to play it you'll need someone to play against. I'm still in a bit of a daze, not sure quite what has happened, but I'm sure it'll hit me like a tonne of bricks sooner or later. I got quite a few job offers today, including a few from the university which are surprisingly well paid. Not quite sure what I'll do yet, I'll take a few days and sleep a bit before I do anything. Graduation isn't until July 3rd! Anyway, sorry. Couldn't contain it! PS: My course was BSc (Hons) Web Design & Development at Abertay University. Good course if anyone's fancying it!
  25. GTA IV. Bought an Xbox 360 especially for it. It rocks. Hands down. Best GTA EVAR.
