  1. Due to the angle of those plates it seems to me to be a fairly obvious way to build a star destroyer. They did it with their ISD, they did it with the mini ISD, and they're doing it with the Executor. The only other blatantly obvious similarity I see is the design of the bases. Again though, it makes sense that there would be two, to support the weight of the model, and they do fit with Lego's previous UCS stand designs.
  2. Added my post to the topic.
  3. Based in Scotland, will post to anywhere in the UK. Haves Sumo Wrestler (S3) Snowboarding Girl (S3) Hula Girl (S3) Race Car Driver (S3) Skateboarder x2 (S4) Frankenstein x2 (S4) Geisha Girl x3 (S4) Wants Zombies (S1, as many as possible) Space Man (S1) Hazmat Dudes (S4, as many as possible) Sailors (S4, as many as possible) Edit: Just traded, so have updated list. :)
  4. That Diner is absolutely FANTASTIC. 5/5 job on that one sir! I think I'm gonna have to use yours for inspiration to build my own.
  5. Toys R Us in Dundee now has series 4 minifigs in stock. They didn't have boxes out, but they had the individidual packets hanging by the tills. I'd say they had about half a box's worth out, next to leftover series 3 minifigs. I picked up 10 packets, and my friend picked up 5, so I reckon there's about 15-20 left hanging. They may have more boxes though, that's just what was out at the time.
  6. Nooooo! I was about to order the pieces to build one of my MOCs next week, but it looks like the available parts list has changed, in both LDD and PaB. :(
  7. One question from me if you don't mind. :) You said both buildings are on their own 16x32 baseplate. Do they go together as 32x32 (Two 16 wide buildings), or 16x64 (Two normal length buildings but narrower)?
  8. Not sure how accurate it is, but a few places are reporting the rumour that it'll be out in August at a price point of NZ $299.99. A quick Xe.com calculation puts it at around £135, so I reckon it'll be around the same price as Grand Emporium at £140-150. This suggests to me that it'll be a full size building, not Market Street style.
  9. This is awesome news, thanks Grogall. Based on Brikshopnl's history, I'm expecting this to be announced before the end of April, with a May release. That's my prediction anyway.
  10. I suppose thinking about it, there's nothing to stop the next one being a corner building and still have it fit those requirements. It's just that promo images of the whole street would be hiding the detailed side of one of the corner buildings, so I think it's unlikely...
  11. Jamie Berard said somewhere that they like to show three of them in promo images (So that it looks like a whole street), and since they aren't shot straight on, at least one of them needs to be a corner building so that they don't show a bland side. They also don't show out of production models. This means that the next round of promo images will feature Fire Brigade, Grand Emporium, and the unannounced one. Since one of those is already a corner building, the next is sure to be a straight building.
  12. My money's on Brickworld Indy. TLG usually has a fair strong showing there, and it's big enough for them to want to reveal a new product there. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, I believe they've unveiled exclusives there before.
  13. He does indeed seem nervous. Firstly it looks hot in that room (Shiny head syndrome. ), and secondly I can't imagine he's used to being stuck in front of a camera. Add to the fact that obviously English isn't his first language, and it's only natural. I do appreciate these videos that Lego does though. I love the insights they give, and it's a good way of showing off all the hidden features of the set that might not get from the pictures. (I also love that in this video, the first couple of seconds is a complete modular building street - Market Street included! Makes me very happy!). As for the train, check out these pictures of double stacked containers: http://www.maerskline.com/globalimage/?path=/gallery/msl/about_gallery_train1_gallery http://ppw-aline.com/images/decal-photo-maersk.jpg http://www.railroadforums.com/photos/data/563/Maersk146MartinezSpur.jpg These are all of a Maersk GP60, I couldn't find one of a Maersk SD40-2 hauling double stacked containers, but you get the picture.
  14. It does indeed appear to be a 9v motor. They probably just put it on so that it can run on the layout all day without worrying about battery life. It is, after all, much easier to add than PF. Personally I'll be buying two sets, and affixing a 9v motor to one of the units. :) Double headed with only 4 cars is a bit unrealistic, but its all that I have room for!
  15. This is great, awesome Moc! I may be being dense, but do you have a link to your Flickr stream? I've been looking and kind find it...
  16. I'll be picking up between 15-20 of them, not to make a crew, but to make a Navy Band to play in a pagoda in my town. :)
  17. I don't normally stray outside of my usual themes (Which are the modular buildings and Star Wars ships), but I will make an exception for Flo's V8 Cafe and maaaybe Mack. I love Cars, and the cafe seems like a great set, with just about all the main characters in it! (Which is fairly unusual for a licensed Lego set...). They'll look great on my desk next to my computer.
  18. I think the panels on the sides are meant to hide a battery box, should you decide to PF-up the model. They easilly fit behind there. I will be adding a 9v motor though, and that's it.
  19. It's mine. Mine I tell you. MINE!! (I seriously cannot wait for this.)
  20. Im completely up for this. I'm a sucker for exclusive minifigs, so that alone is enough to get me to buy this. But the exclusive sets is just the icing on the cake. I just have to hope this is available in the UK.
  21. I was in town today (Dundee, Scotland) and noticed that my local WH Smiths had gotten about 4 boxes in. I ordered a complete set from BrickLink yesterday, but I thought I'd pick up a handfull here, mainly for the bases, but also to try my hand at the dot reading. I bought 4 completely randomly. When I got home, I tried to see what I had by comparing the dots before opening them. My predictions were (I didn't do any "feeling", I went purely from the dots): 1. Sumo Wrestler. I correctly predicted a Sumo Srestler. 2. Race Car Driver. I couldn't tell between the Race Car Driver or the Tennis Player, but I knew it had to be one or the other. 3. Snowboarder. I correctly predicted the Snowboarder. 4. Hula Dancer. Couldn't tell between the Rapper or the Hula Dancer, but again, I knew it had to be one of them. My findings from my admittedly small sample is that the bumbs are more pronounced on the left hand side of the seam. On the right, you can usually see one or two, but not all of them. By going from the bumps alone I managed to narrow down the selection to less than two choices. In short, if you are looking to get the full set by going off the bumps alone, you can probably narrow down the choice to one or two minifigures. If you then felt the packets up, I'm sure you could be 100% sure.
  22. Just bought a complete set for £39 including shipping on BrickLink. This works out at only £7 more than a complete set would cost me in the stores if I knew what I was buying in each bag. The prices dont seem that high...
  23. Hi pacc, This is great thanks. :) Haven't used it yet but will hopefully get the chance to use it this weekend. I've modified my script to include the change you suggested. I've also moved it slight, it can now be found here (Done purely to keep my files in order. :P) Thanks for the heads up. :)
  24. This is one of the best City sets of the last few years for me. Amongst the hordes of fire stations, police stations and construction vehicles comes this. Although my main interest is in the modular buildings, I'm gonna pick this one up as the MoC'ing potential for modulars is awesome.
  25. It looks to me like it has hinges and opens up...
