    Thanks for the compliments! All of you. The contest is already over and I got 3rd place. There are very talented MOCers in the competition and I'll just plug the 1st place winner here because he deserves it. The current condition is just within 48x48 as it is part of the contest rules that I had to comply but the whole Castle should span at least 3 more additional baseplates when this project is completed. The goal is to be able to take the same picture like this: I'll take more pictures of the development You're not seeing the taller tower yet. I am proud to achieve that about 2 feet height and even with that height I am able to grab it with one hand and carry it like a baseball bat. As for what it looks inside -- I have hidden the "Death troopers" since I have taken this picture because they're not supposed to be in this scene following the canon timeline, but who knows? The could be just 2 pretenders. The other members of the LUG are also interested about the "Battle of Takodana" scene with my castle. This amused me because I nearly won 75104 Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle (2nd place prize).

    This MOC is my entry to a local contest organised for Star Wars 40th Anniversary. I began organising the parts needed around January 2017. It took 2-3 weeks of planning because I don't stock many parts. I did a MOC on Mos Eisley Cantina so this seems like the natural progression to me. The main challenge here is finding good material for the model reference and the scale that I will use. For economical reasons, I followed the same scale used in 75139 Battle on Takodana. I used 3 sets to build the basic "U" structure then everything else is procured from Bricklink. It took about 5-6 weeks to design because with my goal is to make it faithful to the actual model used in the movie. I did a lot of revisions especially on the angled corners of the building. The actual build took less than 1 week initially but it gathered dust until March 2017 when I went back to redo the whole build to add interior design from the ground up. Finally it took another 1 week to do furnishing and adding the customised flags. There are 2-3 more building modules not completed which I will complete in 2-3 months as I expand this MOC.

    Looks good. Of all the ninjas, Jay, Nya and Lloyd has the most black colour on their torso... I still don't get it why they have to make Cole sleeveless. They could have made Kai in dark red but i guess he needs to stand out in classic red.

    You're right! I hope that all of them have dual face prints. Zane clearly has dual face print because comparing the 2 pictures, the position of his eyebrows are different. At least, when I get many grinning Zane face, I can easily switch to the serious non-grinning face when I get tired of the grinning face.

    I keep on ignoring this thread for awhile now but I read 2 pages back that Batcave was on sale. Did anyone get the same offer from your favourite stores? The Batman Classic TV Series had a promotion of free 1 BOX of Batman CMF for at least 2 weeks in my local retailers. It's like getting close to 50% off. Then I went to my local LCS this week and the promotion seems to be finished already. That's probably the first batch of clearance I am going to see. Some shops continue to offer free packets of TLBM minifigures for every purchase of Batman / Super heroes set but sooner or later the sets may just go on discount. To think the 3rd wave of Batman was not been released yet, it's quite anticlimactic.

    Unless there is a hidden 3rd option, this "best of both worlds" option is not available. Well I think Itaria will have to make the call if it is too close to make a decision. I personally believe that if there is no quorum, then we must stay status quo.

    Now imagine an army of grinning ninja. Haven't seen any polybag for this movie apart from Lloyd with kendo armour. Now, if we get Zane with this face and a way to army-build grinning ninjas, that will be just hilarious.

    This pretty much sums up what NK is to Ninjago. My son started from Ninjago and dislikes NK. He knows the character and whatnot but he does not care about the villains. I think it could go both ways. Well, as long as they enjoy it, I let them be. I still have this carriage at home -- 6042 Dungeon Hunters and I had so much fun with it as a child even though there is no target to hit. :) Btw, I got the Infernox set few days AFTER I got this set so I don't have the preconceived notion what others had with the previous set.

    Got the Bounty Hunters battle pack. I'll use them as easter egg for my MOC this Saturday.

    Your guess is as good as mine. I need to see them use the lower piece with the hair pieces on. It doesn't make enough justification to make 2-piece mask and then use them together all the time. They could have use the same old mould.

    Did your kids started with Ninjago or any similar theme? That could make a difference on their reception to NK. For the record, I don't acknowledge that this set is an example of "damsel in distress" because everyone gets caught in NK, one way or another. I do agree that this is the best version of the Queen and this set does not represent her character very well.

    Yeah I read your spoiler in the NK 2017 thread. You're right that they should have added an extra one. I have that same disk from Ultra Agents so I can use that one to make a symmetrical staff for Ruina. I agree. Story wise, I don't get why Aaron needs to be there all the time with the Queen. Seems like they have something.

    I might have indirectly invited spoilers here. Be careful next time. As for the new NEXO Knights set -- I don't see myself buying anything at regular retail price. Every NK sets I own I got for 30% discount or more. It's ridiculous to pay at regular price now. I also noticed that my local LCS online ship hid NK from their landing page. It is now hidden in "more categories" ... maybe they realised the effort to market it does not translate well to sales?
