  1. Yes. I have ordered from them a number of times. I am in Canada. I dislike stickers and they do excellent printed Lego parts.
  2. An alternative for the windows can be found here: https://www.steindrucker.com/brick-bank-fenster-10251-custom-druck/
  3. I too look for great color usage in the modulars. What I find interesting is how one person's disliked color is another person's reason-to-buy color. We did not buy the diner because we were put off by the pink. On the other hand the garage was an instant delight precisely because of the "ugly dark orange". It must be quite a challenge for Lego to design a model with colors that "work" for as many people as possible.
  4. That is truly wondrous. If that were a set, I would buy it in a heartbeat.
  5. That worked quite well. Thanks.
  6. Does this mean that the 1x3 half arches are not in the final model?
  7. So which railing is real, the one in the official release photo (which is not as interesting), or the one at the New York Toy Fair (with the small arches (much more interesting and with what looks like new pieces). I would post photos, but apparently I am limited to 30 kB and I can't seem to make my pics small enough.
  8. If this is true, it will be the second modular we don't buy. Garish color scheme. Lack of architectural interest. I understand that many opinions will differ, but this is just... No.
  9. Does anyone know what the post-it note on the 1x1 yellow tile says?
  10. For us, a year is considered good if we have an excellent modular, a great winter village set, and one other wonderful build. Anything else is a bonus. So with the Brick Bank, and Big Ben already out, we are two thirds of the way there. Hopefully the winter train works in our favour. Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters was the bonus. So not bad at all.
  11. I find comments about the repetitiveness of a build to be a little strange. Of course it's going to be repetitive. It's representing a real building. If it wasn't somewhat repetitive, it would look ridiculous.
  12. I have only bought through Bricklink as opposed to eBay and others. I don't have anything against the other sites. Just haven't used them. With Bricklink, I took my time getting acquainted with the site. Did a lot of exploring. Then, when I was ready to buy, I did a small order with a seller just to see how it worked. Everything went smoothly and I started ordering fairly regularly. I bought parts for Cafe Corner shortly after it retired. Probably could have bought the whole set fairly cheaply at that point but I was still leery of buying that much from a private individual online. I made my share of mistakes, like not communicating with or leaving feedback for a seller who included a brick that had been sawn from another brick. But over time, I have found the site to be highly useful.
  13. Beautifully done.
  14. While some relatives think our hobby is a bit odd, most people who come through are impressed. We have modulars, Ferris wheel, opera house, London Bridge, and many of the Hobbit/Lord of the Rings sets on display. The grandkids brag us up to their friends. We also have a lot of 'kid Lego' for the ones that want to play.
  15. Concerning the colour scheme: We actually prefer these colours over the usual primary colors that are often found in these types of sets. Our grandkids as well, when they are building, will also go for non-primary colors unless they have no other choice.
  16. In Bricklink, go to the Catalog tab and type in the set number, 8923. When the window appears, click on the (Inv) that appears before the thumbnail for Hydraxon. You should then be able to scroll down through the inventory till you see your part.
  17. Isn't the 1x1x6 support in white a new color for this part?
  18. ^originally my wife wanted more dark tan to replace some of the tan parts but at the time! many of these pieces were not available. Will have to check again. Round bricks, inverted slopes and cheese slopes may be out there now.
  19. When we acquired our Café Corner, we were not overly pleased with the reddish brown on the second floor or with the yellow awning. So my wife tweaked the colors by using dark tan in place of the reddish brown and dark red for the awning.
  20. Hoping it's in dark green. If so, it's a sale. If not, probably not.
  21. We have all except Market Street and Palace Cinema. Neither interested us enough to purchase. Doubled up on Green Grocer and Pet Shop. Once we had Café Corner we didn't really like the reddish brown and replaced all of that with dark tan and added another middle floor.
