  1. Technically it should be possible, since y'know... it's Lego
  2. All hail the cursed Mercedes poop truck. A spreader could be quite interesting, if with beans/seeds
  3. Gotta say, I feel that the set kinda suffers from a conflict/lack of identity. To my understanding, the diff locks aren't really needed because there's never a reason to leave them open - the turning circle is huge, and the drive is geared down so far (~1:13 just within each axle) that the wheels would probably slip before any meaningful stress travels back through the drive train. The lack of a gearbox also means that the set is too slow for good play on flat surfaces, which also detracts from the need to have open diffs for road driving. One mod idea I've had/would like to see someone tackle is to remove all the diffs and duplicate the front axle across to the rear, giving independent 4WS steering. Not only would this halve the turning circle, but it would also allow for crab steering and therefore better flexibility as a trial truck. If there's a way to increase the steering angle then that would also greatly help in improving play. If anybody else has mod ideas, please do share.
  4. Ahhh my bad, I must have missed that! Thank you thank you Bit of a shame but ah well.
  5. I don't agree at all with all the desire for a pneumatic tank. The manual pump has a high enough volumetric flow that the response is fast enough. There's no need for an air tank besides potentially motorising a compressor.
  6. Bear in mind that I'm assuming some extra pieces would be needed to expand the steering drivetrain to the rear axle
  7. The good news is that its construction seems simple enough that lowering it should be trivial
  8. So uh... @Ngoc Nguyen mods and improvements topic when?
  9. True that. I’d also be curious to see whether someone will remove both the front and rear diffs, and copy the front axle across to the rear to give it 4WS... Seems like a modular enough build to do so
  10. I enjoyed this particularly scathing review, even if I disagree with the objections raised about the new tyres. It would be interesting to see if someone can mod the front axle to include tighter steering and a diff lock.
  11. @kbalage Sounds like an inconsistency worth bringing up with TLG
  12. The retailers have their contracts, and the reviewers have theirs. Unless the retailers aren’t allowed to post early reviews (we don’t know the retail agreements) then there isn’t any ethical problem here. I feel that it seems a bit weird to assume it’s our business to judge whether it’s appropriate for someone to review the set or not.
  13. This is the main reason I think the Arocs tyres are a poor idea for a logging truck with trailer; the Mack size is just far more convenient for the wallet
  14. Well no, because that doesn't have a folding trailer
  15. Oh god please yes. My dream is for a manual pneumatic one like that in the Mack Anthem scale. It would be the perfect Technic truck set for me.
  16. ? Anyway... Checking B&P and it doesn't seem we can buy the new pieces yet. Ah well, just gotta wait
  17. Nah not even RC. Uh... well yes I think they know.
  18. @Maaboo35 @2GodBDGloryIn that case I should amend my statement blaming Canada with the following: I also hate the US
  19. This is an actual joke: https://www.lego.com/en-ca/product/ford-f-150-raptor-42126 It costs $140 CAD. It costs $250 AUD. $1 CAD = $1.08 AUD I hate Canada
  20. And no doubt the Canadians will get it for an absolute steal...
  21. Sorry I'm obsessing over the Australian price, but it's interesting. I'm really looking forward to seeing how much it'll be. On one hand, it's $300USD, which is ~$400AUD. On the other hand, it's also 400EUR, which is ~$470AUD. The set could be anywhere from $400 (likelier $450) to $500. EDIT: I've found a listing from Hobbyco, which lists it for $499.99. Given small retailers always sell for RRP, I think we're out of luck here
  22. I don't know for certain, but if it is $500AUD, then I don't think TLG have shown that much greed before. It'd be even worse than when 42070 came out. EDIT: Looking on the set listing on Brickset, the price is $300USD, which is ~$400AUD. If that's the case then the set may only be $450 if accounting for GST. If we're lucky then it'll only be $400 (which I'll add is still too much for me to consider buying).
  23. Yeah I think it's confirmed from leaked info. If it's true then the value just isn't there, full stop. It seems like a totally arbitrary cost increase. For comparison with the Volvo, the Zetros has: Fewer pieces (albeit a small amount, so this is largely arbitrary) One fewer function Fewer and smaller wheels One extra dumb motor Springs Planetary hubs instead of portal hubs One fewer diff The springs, planetary hubs and extra dumb motor just don't explain a $120AUD increase in any world. I could pay about $40 and get the four planetary hubs and springs to match (not even subtracting the cost of all the portal hubs). It's a real shame, but I think that consumers will agree. I reckon we'll eventually see this set available for $300AUD , or maybe even $270 on rare occasions.
