Truly epic in scale and execution!!!

Simple idea but tons of detail, love it. Now if you could only makes some waves crash up onto the island that would be superb

I have loved the entire Winter Village theme ever since it first came out and always look forward to the release of the next set and this one doesn't disappoint. My only complaint are two (and others have echoed these setiments): the green hood on the kid and having a greyish torso, just doen't match or look good at all and I think its more because of the design of the green hood and how it stands out against the body. And second the saxaphone, with the release of the collectible minifigs, LEGO has designed a lot of special elements/pieces for the figures, are you telling me they could'nt figure out a way to design a one piece mold sax and then re-use in the collectible minifig series or vice versa. I really can't wait to get my hand on this and build it with my son and set-up it up on our Christmas shelf with the other buildings.

Very cool, love the color scheme and bulkiness of the entire vehicle. Is it minifig compatible?

I love the use of the whips and muskets to resemble carvings in upper portion of the boat hull. Awesome idea

I'm digging the oldness feel of the this MOC with the tractor and pick up truck. And the electric poles add to the great feel.

For such an iconic ship to the entire POTC movie franchise this ship really blows (in detail, size, number of canons offered) especially in comparrison to Black Beard's ship recently released. If there were two things LEGO didn't need to get wrong it was the design of Jack Sparrow (which thankfully they got right) and the design of the Black Pearl (which they fumble on). Come on LEGO you can do much, much better.

That is a pretty righteous design and build - how about a splash of yellow somewhere?

Nice building and really superb tractor MOC but having grown up in areas with farms and farming/tractor equipment your building needs to be a lot bigger. All the dealerships I have ever seen are these huge buildings with lots of windows in the front to show off the newer equipment (tractors, etc.) they have received but also have garages in the back portion for maintance operations. John Deere makes tons of equipment. You could visit there website to get some ideas of things to include but I think some riding/standing lawn mowers would look good. Also bucket or tilling attachments for the tractor could be displayed, snowblowers and some 4x4s or 4x6s - the Gator utility vehicle (I built one of these as a 4x4 in green and yellow for a town creation I'm currently building here is a link to brickshelf with a pic of it: My link. A 'Spot-On' MOC, and what makes it great is not its shear size but rather the smaller details that give everything life - the hussle and bussle of a market scene. Very well done!

So after sitting down and watching the first season of SW The Clone Wars on Blu-Ray with my son I decided to build us a version of the AAT. In going down this path I decided to opt to use the official set (8018-1) for the basis of my design but wanted to incorporte design elements from the tv show and from the Hasbro released toy. I changed the color in several locations (areas of the turret, the outboard laser cannons, and the rear of the tank). I also redesigned the tip of the tank cannon, the outboard laser cannons, and portions of the turrent (replacing wedge bricks with curved slopes). I also added smaller cannons to the left and right of the cockpit area as in the Hasbro version. I then redid the removable speeder making the front section more appropiately designed to be the driving center of the AAT but still kept it as being removable with a storage section in the rear area. The outboard laser cannons still maintain their flick fire missile capibility but I think just look better now. A laser rifle was added to the side of the turret hatch for the commander to have a weapon for close quarter combat and defense (as in all military tanks have for that reason). I'm fairly happy with what I've modified, I never got around to getting the stickers for this set so the 6 cannon tubes are missing from the lower rounded areas of the AAT. Enjoy and comments always welcome. Link to more images on my MOCpages Link to image of the Hasbro Toy Version Link to the animated Clone Wars Version Link to the official LEGO Version

Nice red and black checkerboard pattern behind the prop area.

Totaly cool design for the newer wide body design ambulances seen in the United States. Where I live in Colorado, the ambulances are a solid red color with a white stripe and lots of chrome. I may definitely need to borrow this design at some point to include it for one of my town creations. Awesome job and love the functionality of the rear opening doors.

My first Lego sets were the Classic Space sets of the late 1970s but I never imagined or envisioned the different colored figures representing U.S. or Russian allegiances until I read this post just now. Totally weird, I like others have said assumed the different colors of figures represented different jobs for the astronauts. This is kind of mind blowing thirty plus years later.

Impressive in the building scale!

The movie theater is just epic in design and execution, the ability to fit so much detail into such a small space is really well done.
-
Never played the game either but dang if that is not an impressively big Mech.

Very nice exterior facade of the building (esp. the recessed white brick top portion, for signage possibly?) even though based in Australia your building could fit into almost any small town U.S.A. street scene. My only visual issue is the planeness of the tan look all the way around but I understand its still a work in progress. But great design!

Very nice review of this set and very good pictures and captions to accompany them. I too like the printed visor minifig head for Luke Skywalker. My only issue is the price tag of this set as with all Lego sets priced over $100.00 (especially once my son sees pictures of this and starts begging for one). Would have been nice if they added just a little more detail to the rear of the mainhold/hyperdrive area and made the landing gear a wee bit taller so she sat up higher.

Awesome detailing on the interior cockpit.

The fact that you captured the early 1980s Transformer style with the Porshe and Autobot Jazz and then were able to combine them so they could transform is totally stand up and clap worthy. Very Cool!!!
-
The color choices for the facade are outstanding, it really makes it pop without seeming garrish.
-
Very cool design, I like the separate windshields instead of one piece and the striping effect. Looks like it would also fit in well on Coruscant in the Star Wars universe.
-
Very impressive build! Now all you need are those little cars that say wide load with the height poles coming from them to put around it as it travels down the road.

That is just a crazy ridiculous build, very impressive. I would love to see this monster in real life as pictures don't do it justice.
