  1. We do though. The $10 spinjitzu training sets and the addon to the dojo temple are scheduled for March. (I'm using Promobricks as my source here: https://www.promobricks.de/lego-ninjago-2022/130707/)
  2. Since the other sets are listed in the instructions database (no pictures sadly), we'll probably finally see them tomorrow! In terms of this set, I guess we still don't know what EVO means? The car itself looks pretty good though, like a souped-up speed champions car. I'm not sure about the box design, LEGO has done lots of experimentation over the past few years in terms of packaging layout, and I guess "more simplistic" was the result? The "painted" background looks great though! I did notice a few interesting details, however... In the front of the box image, if you look at the minifig line-up on the top side of the box, it looks like Jay includes the Island head wrap hair piece as well as the hood. Also, I have a theory as to what the "banners" are. The side of the box appears (it's hard to tell) to say "track progress rewards", which leads me to believe the banners will be scanned by an app or something and give some digital content, and that's the "EVO" part of these.
  3. Here's the thing though: Lego has only revealed the licensed sets this early, that was the case this year, and it was last year as well. Meanwhile, Ninjago and other original themes were only added on to Lego.com at the beginning of December. The pics we got on November 20th last year were from another online retailer, and that will probably be the case this year as well. I expect to see them revealed next week as well, but not by Lego themselves. That also means we might need to wait more for Monkie Kid, since they would have to be posted on a Chinese retail page, since most other stores don't stock them, or wait for them to be added to Lego.com. Now, as to why Lego reveals the licensed themes earlier, I suspect it has to do with the license holders wanting Lego to reveal them officially rather than them just showing up on some random website. Since Lego can't really control what websites do with perfectly legal images, they just beat them to the punch and upload them before anyone else has a chance to, so they can avoid issues with the IP holders. This is just pure speculation though, but given how strict Disney is with stuff like this, it wouldn't surprise me.
  4. This list is exactly what I was thinking, I guess great minds think alike, right? Except, in regards to the $20 dollar set, we know the piece count of 76219, and it's around 300 pieces, so it definitely isn't 4+. Also, I know Lego likes mechs and big monsters, but I don't think they would focus a $100 dollar set on sandman. I would fully expect the Statue of Liberty to be the majority of the build there. I would also hope for a repeat of MJ or Doctor Strange, but I'm not sure how many figs Lego would include for the price. I'm still not convinced 76219 isn't another mech 2-pack, since both the release date of April and the piece count would match up, but in this case, I hope I'm proven wrong. About the statue, what color do you think Lego would make it? From what I see in the trailer (I might be wrong, it's a pretty dark scene) it looks like they've polished the statue in universe back to the original bronze color, and I'm not sure how Lego could replicate that without making so many recolors into the metallic bronze color they have. Maybe using dark orange? Yes, that would be great! I love to expand my classic comic spidey villain collection. The electricity mask makes for such a great detail, I hope Lego does it justice and not just a face print like Thor's from Ragnarok.
  5. Good news, one of the Chinese new year sets for 2022 has that piece in blue! (https://brickset.com/sets/80108-1/Lunar-New-Year-Traditions) I'm sure the piece will be available in Bricks and Pieces, so you won't have to buy the entire set for that. As for me, I think dark blue will look better, though I'll also have to change the hands of the minifig to make it work. By the way, I built this set in mecabricks, and since I got the exact parts count, I can prove two things: the belt is printed, but there is indeed no hairpeice. (fun fact: sticker sheets count as a part)
  6. Dang, the Black Panther sets must have sold like crazy. I wouldn't have guessed this would have so many more sets than the other films. Given the rumors...
  7. Those redesigned socket pieces are also in the rendered images of the What if? mechs, even thought the sets themselves use the old mold. However, since the irl pics of this set also have the new pieces, it looks like they'll start using them now. Like you said, hopefully they have more friction. As for EVO, I have my own theory that they are 5+ sets, like what we've seen in the city line over the past 2 years. It would line up with the fewer pieces and '4+' look that Promobricks described.
  8. Just noticed something about the new mechs... they changes the hips of them. They no longer use that triple ballpoint technic piece now, and as such the waist rotation has been removed. Honestly, that's a bummer. I might mod my Wolverine mech to add it back in.
  9. So... I got the Iron Man buildable figure picture to load... wow do I not like it. The head is a weird specialized piece, like that rounded shoulder armor piece used for molten man and clay face... it also looks too lanky and skinny. Maybe it looks better in person, but I'm not sure anything can fix the head. (Tell me if you can see it from this link. If not, I'll screenshot it and try to share it. https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/iron-man-figure-76206) Nevermind, it's fixed now. Even with more pics, I still don't like it.
  10. To me, it kind of says the opposite. If Lego intended on making more x-men sets, then why wouldn't they brand this set under x-men? At best, the Wolverine branding implies that we could get Wolverine sets like we do spiderman, with other x-men as side characters, but I'm not sure there's enough of a market for that. For that reason, this branding makes me think this might be a one off set... Seeing all three of these, it only confirmed my impression that I would only be interested in the Wolverine mech. I honestly liked the first iron man mech better, and the fig, while cool, doesn't really motivate me to get it. The Black Panther one is a good build, and the extra head and hair is a great inclusion, but I don't know, I just don't care for it. The Wolverine mech looks cool, and although the fig looks plain to me (even if it's accurate), I don't have any Wolverine yet, and the inclusion of the helmet is great. However, the hair piece isn't shown, so it may not be included. Either way, I'll still try to pick it up. One final comment, notice how Black Panther also uses the Wolverine claws on the minifig... I'm not sure how to feel about that. On the one hand, it's good to see them approximate the claws, but on the other hand, I don't think those pieces really fit. Huh
  11. Sadly, that isn't how it works. It wouldn't be any cheaper, because they would have to redesign the mold itself to replicate the same shape. Over the last 20 years, I can guarantee that Lego has changed much of how parts are molded, and how plastic is injected into the molds themselves. This also doesn't account for the differences in part design since 2002, even if no aesthetic changes are made, I can assure you other parts of the mold would change to meet modern design, quality, and safety standards. The simple classic space helmet had to be redesigned for The Lego Movie 2 sets, and even basic parts (like technic pins, updated in 2021) have been slightly updated over the years to make sure they are the best they can be. There is no way they could just reuse the same piece as they did in 2002 without any changes, it would be almost impossible. They look awesome, yeah, but these are more finicky than the Bugle tentacles. Even more, unlike the Bugle ones, they are probably fragile too. They also need to be pretty long to get much motion out of them, and Lego seems to refuse to give Doc Ock properly long tentacles for some reason. As for the claws, the only reason I don't see Lego doing this is because they wouldn't want to include two of the parts pack the center piece comes in (https://brickset.com/sets/containing-part-6266977) without a use for the other pieces in the pack. Depending on what scenes they adapt, though, they could use those other parts throughout the set, so it could be possible, but I won't be expecting that personally.
  12. I think a new mold would be the best case scenario, but I kind of disagree about the 2002 helmet piece. It has too much molded detailed, and doesn't mix well with the more simple design of minifigs. The prints for the eyes and teeth are great, but the black eyebrows ruin it for me, that kind of goofy detail doesn't fit either the movie design or the piece Lego had designed. If we get a new piece, I would want it to have the "hood" on the back and the "ears" on the side, but also a flat front to print the face, without a nose this time to be more consistent with minifigs.
  13. About the set that was revealed, I'm pretty meh on it. Don't get me wrong, it looks good, and I like the interior space it has, but it doesn't really peak my interest too much. Glad to see this wave releases January though, waiting until march this year was kind of annoying. I do want to see what's up with these evil monkeys though, they look cool. Hopefully the rest of the wave interests me more.
  14. First of all, they were hiring for that position, we still don't know if they've filled it yet. Second of all, the 20th of November date is when official pics were released last year, so it could be before or after that date. Generally, mid November to the first week of December is the range of dates we should see pictures in. Also, keep in mind that those November 20th pics were not of great quality, and did not include all of the sets, so keep your expectations in check as to when and what we'll see. Some minifig leaks would be cool, but given that it's this late in the year and we've seen only one or two, I'm not holding out for much. On the topic of minifigs, with the new neon green color being leaked today, what do you think the chances are that the yellow on Jay's suit is this new color? I think it would work well with his color scheme, and hopefully leads to Lego using less of the transparent neon yellowish green to represent his powers (to me, it looks horrible as lighting). Maybe we could get some normal parts in the sets as well? I'm honestly sort of excited to see what Lego does with this!
  15. I read the set descriptions on the press release and this quote peaked my interest: " Press the button to activate the Poltergust" Button? what button? Then I realized that the "pouch" on the overalls are actually a button built into the piece! But what does it do? Well, looking at my own Luigi figure, the location of the pouch lines up pretty well with where the metal levers are on the Luigi body (the ones used to detect the various suits). This makes me think that the button presses on these to activate the poltergust. If this is the case, then I'm very impressed with the ingenuity of the design. Sadly, I think all this button will do is probably just play sounds rather than actually defeat any of the ghosts, but it's still incredibly inventive.
  16. I was surprised to see set reveals this early, and then I remembered it's Halloween. But really, these look so cool! I wasn't expecting an entire Luigi's Mansion wave, so this has me hyped. The poltergust looks great, and that larger set captures the mansion look very well. The king boo function looks interesting, reminds me of Storm Beast from bionicle. It's also a decent way to convey how it really works ingame. As for prices, promobricks list euro prices for the three in their article: https://www.promobricks.de/lego-super-mario-2022-luigis-mansion/132915/
  17. Same. If they do it justice, this should be a great looking minifig Honestly, for Doc Ock's arms, I'm expecting them to be like the ones in this year's monster truck (https://brickset.com/sets/76174-1/Spider-Man-s-Monster-Truck-vs-Mysterio),but with ends like in this set (https://brickset.com/sets/76059-1/Spider-Man-Doc-Ock-s-Tentacle-Trap) to replicate the three-pronged claws. The aeroblades are a good solution, I'm just not sure Lego would consider them durable enough for kids, same with the build for the arms we got in the bugle.
  18. But remember, this came out in April this year: https://brickset.com/sets/76198-1/Spider-Man-Doctor-Octopus-Mech-Battle Wouldn't be surprised if it's another one of these. Even the piece counts sort of match.
  19. You are right, it is indeed an assembly of two parts. However, they are glued together, so there isn't really a non-destructive way of separating them that I've ever seen. As for the print on the torso, I wouldn't expect there to be much more than what we can already see, so I'm afraid you might be out of luck. It would be interesting to see it deconstructed though, and I wouldn't be surprised if someone has done so. If anyone else knows, feel free to share it here!
  20. True, I had forgotten about those. I feel the mighty micros is kind of different though, that was Lego's stylistic choice. And I still stand by that the show's style matches Lego's style enough that they don't need to do anything weird to look accurate.
  21. Completely unrelated, but I stumbled onto this new combo pack sold at Sam's Club, and there's the three they're selling at Lego shop at home as well. Isn't it wierd that we're getting so many of these for the theme? And does it say anything about the success of the line as a whole? https://www.samsclub.com/p/lego-super-mario-starter-course-pack/prod26200287?xid=plp_product_3
  22. I mean, we do know that they only cover the 1st half of the year, and if the second wave comes out in the summer, then these can't be them. To those doubting the second wave could be so late, the Hulk Helicopter Drop set (the one with rescue and nano gauntlet) came out in November of 2019, months after Endgame came out in April. It's definitely possible that we see these in June, heck, maybe even July or August.
  23. Eh, it could be a similar situation to Thanos this year. A big fig in one set, minifig in another. (Besides, if any set could pull off 2 big figs for $20, it would be a 4+ one, but I'm probably just hoping too much lol) Also, I haven't really seen it here, but I've seen people worry the figs will be stylized like the old clone wars ones... not only did Lego stop doing that, but the style of this show lines up decently well with Lego's design style anyways, so I think we're good.
  24. I'm not sure how excited I am for the film itself (I think it may be too cramped with all those villains, all three spider-men, plus the peter identity reveal plot for one film), but man, that second wave of sets better be good! Hopefully another one of the sets will come with Strange, either cheaper or a more interesting build/figure selection. I'm also excited to maybe finally add lizard and electro to my spidey villain roster, especially if we get classic versions of these in the near future like we have for other mcu spider-man villains. Then again, having a film sinister 6 roster would be dope too.... Lego better deliver on this!
  25. Dang, these new sets are pretty good! The Reznor knockdown stands out the most to me of the three that were revealed, but the other too look good too. Lakitu's sky world looked too busy at first glance, but now that I've made sense of it, I like the function and how it looks. The boss sumo bro tower topple is pretty cool too, but I hope the model is stable enough to not topple over completely, especially at the connection point between the two tower pieces. The boss sumo bro looks fantastic though, and I love the use of the technic pieces so that he can peat his chest, but also to capture the look of the towels he has on his shoulders in the game! I like the inclusion of the blue toad in the Reznor knockdown, and the entire mechanism is very clever, and how you can interact with the various parts of the wheel/carriages. However, given how you need to rotate it with a character and also interact with it at different spots as well, I wonder if it's a hassle to do with only one character. Same issue with Lakitu's sky world, if you only have one character, a grand chunk of the build is superfluous, and while I guess you can crank the could spinner by hand, the spot for a character to stand next to Lakitu doesn't really work as well solo as it does in 2 player. In that sense, the topple tower handles it the best, in that there's space for 2 to work the function, but it's still convenient for 1. However, the more we learn, the more and more impressed I am with Bowser's airship! A character can pilot the ship, and you can aim the cannon before firing it and it'll make the cannon sounds from 64! The ship has 3 separate tags you can hit to 'destroy' the entire ship, so the ship itself is like a boss! It's such an impressive set, both for play and display. I also love that it's so compact when folded up, especially since I'm moving out soon into a smaller space. This is the best video I've found showing all of the set's features, though it is in Spanish: (it's in the spoiler bar) Also, seeing more of Mario and Luigi interact together, it's cool! The whole 'in-sync' part of it seems odd to me, since it's never really been a thing in the games, but I guess it works to foster a sense of team work. I like the back and forth on the bosses better, and the 2 player functionality built into the sets looks fun too. Another interaction I love is they ask each other if they're okay when they fall over or take damage, very wholesome. I can't wait to get this in august when it comes out!
