Should Lego change the way they sell Track ?
Cinderbike replied to The Yellow Brick's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Yeah, 9V seemed so more easier. No expensive motors or such, and you could run trains all day long if you wanted. Oh well. At least track is cheaper and we have more switches now. -
I like it. Have you considered moving the station to the island and having two side platforms instead? I think it would look more balanced and it would give you some room to make the station accessible to traffic, simply by adding a back-side to the station (another ticket window or even just a back door).

Wow. I can't wait to see this thing finished. I don't have anything to critique, I like it how it is. It's beautiful and I'm hoping that you get this finished soon so we can all enjoy it! :)

I absolutely love this house. The details, especially the 1x1 round plates for the chimney is amazing.

I think the MOC/MOD/MOCD/MODD thing works. However, I suggest MOC/MDC (my digital creation) as a shorter version. Aren't acronyms fun?

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion

I know what MSRP stands for, I was asking what the MSRP for the sets were. I wish I had noticed earlier, I certainly wouldn't have given the local TRU $4.99 per pack. -
I would also prefer MOVC to MOD.
-
I would like to see some train related minifigs, such as a detailed Conductor with a clicker/counter and perhaps an engineer (with leg printing of grease on his pants!).

Good suggestion. Been staring at the space villain for awhile... they should've given him a cape or jet pack, I think. He seems a tad barren. -

I was not aware the demand was that high. I had just assumed scalpers were hoarding them and that is why they were always sold out. -

I think I'm in for this: been on a buying spree lately, plus having been a reviewer for a software blog probably helps. -

Why are people jacking up the MSRP? -

Totally going for that Biohazard dude. And the artist. Love them! -

So just by looking at the votes and comments, are most of you voting for the Elf because of the new pieces or something? I'm actually in the minority and don't really like the Elf. :/ -

I forgot to mention; the TRU I was at had a limit of 5 per person. Apparently someone came in a few month back (during Series 2) and bought all of them - all 6 boxes they had. I can't see anyone other than an eBay scalper having a need for that many. No wonder they're jacking up prices. :( -

Are they allowed to charge $3 over MSRP? Sweet Jesus. -

Got back from the local TRU. They only had one box, but luckily I had my iPhone to consult the barcode/dot guide. Scored a space villain and a baseball player, but they didn't have the snowboard girl I wanted to get for my girlfriend. EDIT: Oh, I paid $4.99 per minifigure. What is MSRP? -
I absolutely love those window awnings.
-
There are apps, e.g. BrickHelper, that can take a .lxf and give your a parts list.
-
The Toy Story 3 train I got from S@H had the instruction manuals crushed in the box from jumbling around during shipping, so I'm glad this is changing.
-
Yes, but it's larger than the rechargeable one. I'd wait and get this one on Bricklink, or wait and see if they add it to S@H after Christmas like someone told me was the rumor.
-
Agreed. Nice MOC.

I want a strongman/bodybuilder minifig too! *signs* PS: What piece did you use for the weights?

Should Lego change the way they sell Track ?
Cinderbike replied to The Yellow Brick's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I'd like to chime in. TLG doesn't seem to care much about selling track. The only retail store I've ever seen that carried it was, of course, the official LEGO store. However, even here in SoCal where we have 4 of them nearby, none of them carry the 7896 Straight & Curved, only the flexible track pack. Even then, it's never in stock. Beyond that, neither pack gives you sufficient track to build a simple circle or oval. The whole thing is a mess, IMO. -
Heh, what a great name. I'll have to see what I can come up with this "Pantsless" technique myself. On a side note, does anyone else find it odd how more and more advanced techniques are sneaking into official sets? I swear, they've become far more detailed since I was a child. Even the minifigures are better - no more solid color torsos and plain faces.
