Should Lego change the way they sell Track ?
Cinderbike replied to The Yellow Brick's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Yep. Bad news guys. Got off the phone with the LEGO Store. The 7896 Straight & Curved Rails has been discontinued and has been replaced by 7499 Flexible Track. :( A sad day indeed. I needed 8 more curved and 8 more straight rails to finish my layout. Bricklink or eBay looks to be my only choice. -
I got my Emerald Night today for Christmas. Wow! What a build. It took me a solid 2 hours to build. I loved the SNOT, technic gears, and TONS of cheese pieces. The greatest part was when the family was playing LEGO Rock Band and my girlfriend pointed out the Emerald Night in the game while I was building it in the next room over.

Things that changed Lego forever
Cinderbike replied to David Thomsen's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I came out of my dark ages this year, and was surprised to see much more complex sets than when I was a kid. The part count may be about the same, but the amount of detail in the sets is quite a bit higher, and I'm not just counting the AFOL-targeted sets. Just compare a car from the current City theme to a car from the 90's. Much more realistic. And the reflection/pupils in the eyes, more detailed minifig face/torso printing, back and leg (and even arm, sometimes!) printing... there's just more detail now, I think. -
It looks great! Nice job.

Should Lego change the way they sell Track ?
Cinderbike replied to The Yellow Brick's topic in LEGO Train Tech
It does appear the double crossover was discontinued. I'm a bit bummed, the Outlet store had a few track packs left (I need curves!) and some jerk swooped in and bought ALL OF THEM last night. :( -

It looks like the curved & straight pack may actually have been discontinued. The local LEGO store said they are not expecting to receive any more shipments, however the LEGO Outlet store does carry them, for $14/pack. -
Wow! This is a great MOC. I'd love to see this brick built. Perhaps when I have more room and money I'll build one myself. Care in posting the lxf file?

Yeah. I plan on converting the TS3 set into something with more realistic proportions as the next project, but am waiting on some BL parts first.

Perhaps there will be other Disneyland Railroad enthusiasts on here, but just in case, here is a reference picture: http://davelandweb.com/dlrr/images/mainstreet/1960s/K2TPBKYC_8_62_N17B.jpg Now on to the LEGO-ized version I built: Part of the roof is removable. Look at the happy passengers! (The seats are also removable but I didn't take a picture. 3 seats sit on a 2x8 plate and are held in by a single stud.) And here our happy Conductor is checking everyone's baggage: This is just the beginning, as I plan on making a full set (steam engine, tender, and caboose) to go along with these, so stay tuned! PS: Happy holidays!

The only thing that seems to be missing is the double crossover piece, but this is sorta nifty.

I'd love to see a modular bank. Especially now that they have proper pieces for making roman columns.

Review: 7985 Temple of Atlantis
Cinderbike replied to Etzel's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Some interesting new pieces in this set; the "knuckle" piece, the grooved column pieces, the new trans-yellow domes... a LOT of stuff for us MOC builders to be happy about. I can't wait to see someone use those new columns on a modular building! Perhaps this year we'll get a modular library or museum. That'd be swell. -
Agreed. Great MOC!

I enjoyed the interior photos. A great way to show off your collectible minifigs!

I saw this posted on Facebook and immediately ran to EB to see if there was a thread. Of course there was! This was really well made. Fluid animation, hilarious story, and lots of gore. If only this was a real videogame, I would absolutely play it. ;) (This really doesn't belong in Town though!)

Great way of using those transblue bricks for the fountain. It's snazzy.
-
Wow. The crystal king looks lame compared to this.

I know "cute" isn't the first word that comes to mind when describing a time machine, but that time machine is definitely cute! I love it.
-
Yep. I'd love to see how he did the curved walls too. OP, great work!

Snazzy. Nice job on the wings.

TRU Ninjago release event
Cinderbike replied to Solscud007's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Aww, too bad I didn't know about this. I was at TRU yesterday, I would've stuck around and gotten that sweet gold katana. -

Supposed to be, I know! (Someone already answered my question on the previous page) -
TRU Online US sold out of most LEGO
Cinderbike replied to exon_from_youtube's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Our local TRU had almost everything in stock, even Series 2 and 3 minifigs.
