Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion
x105Black replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
What a shame. What a drag. Mostly because of minidolls rather than minifigures. But they also haven't done enough in general. He would be fine as a minifigure. A bigfig would be too big. Same goes for Sulley from Monsters Inc. if you ask me. So, if there's no Beast, I'm still hoping there's a Sulley.- 4,155 replies

If it's too close to Nexo Knights in LEGO's mind, LEGO has lost their mind.

Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion

I didn't say they have to be. I said that I want them to be, and that maybe they would be. If regular sets are providing minifigures and not minidolls, then yes, that's the best news for fans.- 4,155 replies

Style. There is a variation in the types of characters here. The original poster that I had quoted was calling them all minifigures. That is a fallacy. Yikes.

OK, 20.

This is a really nice build. The base looks great, and the snow looks fantastic. I love the actual structure and the roof technique used here. Excellent piece usage on the bard's instrument! And the dog looks to be seriously enchanted by the song, his eyes are bulging out as he watches! Great work!

The National Parks set would be great, if only for the bear. -

One should not exclude the other. Interesting news. I hope that this is either a minifigure set, or that they will still be included in the CMF series. Minidolls are indeed awful. I would really like to see them in the standard minifigure form. It was not confirmed yet. Can anyone confirm this? Maybe the Enchanted Castle will have a minidoll Belle, and the CMF series will have a minifigure Beast. Unlikely, but it's a possibility.- 4,155 replies

That Jestro sounds nice. We'll have to wait and see if he compares to my favorites, Moltor and Ash Attacker. I'm sticking with the theory that Flama is actually both genders. The ambiguousness, intentional. It's LEGO's first hermaphrodite character, they are being progressive with this theme. That would be nice. Until then, we should be happy that he has the new plume / ponytail piece in black. You're also counting the large monsters, a book, and a flat hologram as minifigures. As someone mentioned, you left one out, so we have 32 characters, but only 19 minifigure characters. I'm not sure I'd even count Axl, so maybe 18, or 18.5? Some minifigure characters have alternate versions (in the Ultimates), and additional versions of some minifigures are forthcoming (like the Lavaria and Jestro we've heard about).

I thought the same. A friend gave me the plume, which sadly does not fit any current helmet. It fits in a stud hole. And the pyramids are nice. I want to see a bigger variety of colors for them, though. That's a possibility. I wouldn't mind collecting the human side of that theme at all.
-
I like Moltor more because of his color scheme. I feel the opposite from you, and I wish the others were more like him. They're the ones that don't fit in for me. Well I was thinking that maybe she was male and is now female (or vice versa). But I guess we can call Lavaria LEGO's first hermaphrodite minifigure if that fits better.

Well the quote I responded to said "prior theme." Classic Space is a prior theme (even if it wasn't called that at the time). True that LEGO does not have a current Space theme (you're right about Nexo Knights, and Star Wars doesn't really count as it is a licensed theme). But I still feel that the Exo-Suit was based on an older LEGO theme, and that projects in a similar vein could work out better than projects based on licensing. Possibly, it was a much more advanced set than any Space set released. But I felt that was part of its appeal. It pushed the boundaries of Space to a new level, an evolution of Space. Also, those minifigures are very cool. I love that there was a new take on the Classic Space minifigures. Again, I feel that something similar could be done with other older LEGO themes. Maybe Castle, or a variation of Castle, like Forestmen. Or maybe Adventurers, or Pharaoh's Quest, or Monster Fighters. There are many defunct themes that LEGO could do without licensing that could be made to feel new, updated, and original. Well, as far as licensing goes, I'm still really hoping the Beatles set will be approved. I'd definitely buy one the day it comes out. -
Well that's interesting. But all spiders, male or female have pedipalps, they are just enlarged in the male. So maybe these Bionicle spider are some sort of alien rather than terrestrial, so that would explain it? In this case, I'll call Flama LEGO's first transgender minifigure. This guy looks pretty cool. Or hot, I guess?

LEGO's first transgender character? That's definitely notable! Nexo Knights is more important than I thought.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 15 Rumors and Discussion

Local Target stores here have a lot of them, but they also haven't had them on their shelves for the past 2 months. They held them in the back room from Halloween until after Christmas, for some reason. -
I can see where you're coming from, although I haven't seen the sales figures on the Exo-Suit. If anyone has, please share. Anyways, it didn't reinvigorate the theme, but I did feel like it was a nice fresh take on a classic. So in a way, I felt like it did add some energy to the Space themes. Nexo Knights is clearly inspired by Space themes, so that's something. I guess what I'm really hoping for is a great, well-built set in the Castle theme, even if it comes from Ideas (which seems like the only option, as it was for Space at the time). I feel like there is a lot of potential there, but the right Idea just hasn't come along yet. And appealing a little more to adults as far as the theme goes isn't really a bad thing, as there will likely be enough adult votes and buyers to justify it (after all, the Ideas website is intended for people above the age of 13).

I picked up Battle on Takodana at a local Target (they had 4 left, and I had to get the guy to get it from the back because the shelves were empty). They had it at $50, plus I used a 15% off coupon, bringing it down to about $42, which is a reasonable price for the set. There's no way I was going to buy it for $60 elsewhere. It's a nice looking set, I feel like I got my money's worth (even if it's still slightly above the standard price per brick cost).

I thought he was talking about a new Jestro hat in the summer wave. Didn't know he meant the animated "devil horn" version of the regular one. Anyone care to share information about what Jestro's hat will look like in the summer wave? All red? Red & black? Some kind of Moltor-like design?

That's a fair point. Those characters should be well known among their 7+ demographic.- 4,155 replies
