Hey, I know what's in it. My son received it at the local webshop when he bought Kai's cycle. Content: Golden Card: Hypnobari Rattle (some sort) of foam to create a round arena. Red snakes on a light green colour. Low edges, I guess the spinners fly out. A green ninjago bandana the spinning rules and an ID card to fill in adress

REVIEW: 9441 Kai's Blade Cycle
horizon replied to Velika314's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Hey, my son bough if from his weekly money. He is four and half years old, he build 80% of it all by himself, then he got a little tired and let me finish the blade things. For an 8+ year old set he did quite well I must say. A sturdy basis of this bike. And an edgy end design of the model which only has 2 studs left, which are for Kai to stand on: sleek. While I am still not sold on the Ninjago 2012 direction I must admit that the vehicle in itself is really well done by LEGO. Good review by the way. ;) -
The new NRG Cole scythe looks awesome. The dragon is not cool at all. A mesh of bricks, no style. :/ The ultrasonic thing has wings. That's it. Quite large. The colours are pretty skeleton though. Aside of the wings. Chopov could've build it.

Really? lol. Ah hahaha. Well, then, I am mixing in my own LotR visualisation with the movie images and think all is fine. :)

Heya, cool cool cool. Gollum looks great Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Boromir all great Hobbits great LEGO is going good here. It is quite funny how some people want the minifigs exactly as the movie. Remember that it is based on a book in the first place. So colour difference between LEGO & movie is not 'wrong'.

Gandalf's Cart & Moria for me. :) I wonder if winter 2012 will see the Hobbit specific sets.

Castle sets are violent. Pirates are violent. Harry Potter has violence. Back in the '80s everyone started equipping there space minifigs with weapons. Red vs White for example. I do not think Ninjago is any more violent then Castle or Space. LEGO, however, did connect a game to it, a game similar to bakugan, beyblade, etc, which has a competitive aspect. I play it with my son. My daughter made it so skeletons & ninja's are friends. So both imaginations go along. With castle I had spaceships shoot eachother out of the universe. With castle the falcons attacked the lion's, etc.

On Ninja's vs Pirates episode, which is said to be. Perhaps this episode is the Ninja's on the Destiny's Bounty being attacked by pirates. The pirates being the skeletons in pirate outfits (a pirate hat for Nuckal, Kruncha, Wyplash etc seem fitting). A small skeleton pirate ship (or big) commandeered by Captain Frackjaw. Seems plausible. PotC meets Ninjago.

REVIEW: 9446 Destiny’s Bounty
horizon replied to Siegfried's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Well, why hide the dagger? Because they do that in the movies. Like those duels where the swords are gone, they seem defeated and then woooooosh they get a secret knife out of somewhere. ;) Nice review. As for the prize: search the net, in the Netherlands big stores sell it at 95 euro, webstores sell it from 70 euro on. Quite the difference. Thanks for the review; perhaps most pity part is the fact Jay & Zane are regular outfits... kids have an army of Jay clones allready... heh. Lego is promoting Ninjago pretty highly, the video along it is well done with the rattlecopter trying to attack the ship. etc. -
Always pity if a set isn't what you hoped for. The skeleton heli was a good build and pretty playable (son loves to shoot those missiles), so pity they couldn't translate this into the snake heli. The prize differences in the Netherlands are really getting out of control these days. In Bart Smit Destiny's Bounty was almost 95 euro, in the local webshop 74 euro. Yikey de pikey.

Hey, how do you mean: "I don't think so" ? On the DX versions there is a clearly a dragon head. All four tad different looking a lot like their Dragon. Is there a 'beast' on the ZX version as well? Example: Jay DX: http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20101228161131/lego/images/7/75/Jay_DX.png Jay regular: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_qa13GlKvkqY/TTY0K7VwmSI/AAAAAAAAC3Y/FluFyEgbaH8/s1600/lego-ninjago-minifigures-jay.jpg Zane regular: http://cn1.kaboodle.com/img/b/0/0/197/8/AAAAC4cve40AAAAAAZeLow/lego-ninjago-zane--white-ninja-minifigure.jpg?v=1320724196000 Ah... you are looking at the regular versions, right? Well, then none of them has dragon head holding together the "ropes". Interesting aspect then. Perhaps something to come.
-
Correct, on the DX versions that is.

My daughter taught the story 'the real hero' was the most 'tense' of all four stories across the books. I found Zane to be the best in depth, the encounter with Kruncha was hilarious. Jay's book was indeed the least of the four.

MOC: Assassination at Golden Dragon Dojo

Great build, love the swinging weapon. -
As for the story. You lack creativeness if you let the Lego story decide 'your' stories. They're a guideline. Nothing more nothing less. Yesterday Bonezai, Nuckal and Chopov seized the city Fire Truck in an attempt to etinguish the fire dragon...

If Ninjago only consisted of the snake theme I would agree with the fact that the theme isn't good. But the first waves where really great. Vs skeletons was really good. Some points I noted: "Skeleton legs break" --Under heavy endurance (kids ;) ), so far no leg broke. "Skeleton arms break" --One hand clip snapped under even more endurance. It was from Samukai. A Non-spinner model, produced not in China. "the minifigs are nice... but spin them for battle" -- Uh yeah, Lego designed a game with it. You either like the game or not. But you can collect Ninjago two ways: the game: only spinner sets needed, or the theme: no spinner sets needed. "Maybe the chinese ninjago figs have changed from when I got some of mine. I got the very first set I could find, and they had looser hands and c-clip on ninja hood, the printing looked duller and the hood was loose and the fig could barley stand, plus the parts just had a weird look to them." -- Which set? I never experienced the weirdness you experienced

Heh, do some searching in the ninjago 2012 thread. You'll find out who the green ninja is. Unless you don't want to be spoiled and see it in the series first.
-
Yes, I have. There is no difference in stud-attachment. Plus: the Chinese Ninjago headgear fits better then the non-Chinese Ninjago headgear. The painting has totally no difference. No difference in the reds, blacks, etc. Nor in the painted details. And from all the spinning I can assure you the weapons fit really good and do not fall out faster (or slower) then from non-chinese minifigs. Mind you: I only know of the Ninjago line. Woops, sorry.

eBay user sells instructions for other builder's MOCs

Did any of the builders being 'robbed' file their IP somewhere? If no one filed the IP on their creation than you can do nothing about it. It is not illegal by law on what they are doing. Morally seen one could argue about it ofcourse as it isn't a very nice trick to do. Going to court and persuading a judge you build it first is a long hard expensive road. -
gtfo. There is nothing, I repeat nothing wrong with the chinese build spinners from the first waves. NOTHING. They are GOOD quality. Just like ALL OTHER chinese items in the Ninjago releases.

Review: 9566 Samaurai X
horizon replied to Perry the Platypus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
What? They changed the underside of the spinner? That is an illegal move in my opinion by LEGO as it devaluates the older spinners (or not, depending on performace). But they are not equal, which is a must in a game like this. Weird. So the spinner does not have that rounded 2x2 brick-thinged underneath? -
ffs... Ninjago 2012 arrives this friday in the Dutch stores (officially), some spinner sets already seen. Destiny's Bounty (lego shop US 79,99 dollar) Bart Smit/Intertoys = major chains = 95 euro = 114 dollar But I've found other dutch (web)shops selling it for 69-75 euro (69 euro being 82 dollar). searching the net is worthwhile. Never buy at the large toy stores unless it is on sale.

The Ninjago skeleton theme (2010-2011) was brilliant. With four masterpiece dragons. I hope the Ninjago snake theme goes by quickly. The four headed dragon is the absolute lowpoint. And the rest, aside of Destiny's Bounty really crappy as well. Ninjago vs Pirates may be a better idea. So I have some hope for that.
