  1. It wasn't me and my own model in the video; it was someone else and their model. They built the model from a 42113 clone set from one of the Chinese clone brand, which naturally doesn't contain any electronics. Therefore they had to use a substitute motor and battery box. It's funny that I submitted this thing to Lego Idea under the name of Boeing Vertol 234 (the civilian version of Chinook), and it was still rejected.
  2. Someone built the B model I designed and filmed it in action!
  3. I've updated the io file, the part list, and the instruction in the folder.
  4. To put things in perspective, this thing is even more expensive than the premium Porsche 42056...
  5. I consider this model simply as a MOD version of an official model. If there are no problems with posting our own MOD versions, then there should be no problem with this one, right? I've never claimed that this is my original design.
  6. I think they are intended to be steering limiters. They appear in the original model. In the original model there are two friction gears on both sides. Yes, my bad. I've added them. Yes, my bad. I've fixed it. Stud.io doesn't have the tools that allow me to add buffer state, so I can't do this. I've changed its color to grey so that it stands out against both white blank pages and colored parts That's reasonable. I've replaced the connector with the 26287 part to be safe. I can't add buffer states, so I've changed the build sequence instead. Yes, my bad. I've removed the middle one. Overall, thanks a lot for the feedback. Because I haven't built this model myself, I can't find out these mistakes.
  7. I look for all of the openings in the Creative department and there are openings for Designers in only one theme: Technic. To me this looks like there are some shuffling going on.
  8. Apparently he was swiping and zooming on the so-called photos on a tablet while speaking in the video.
  9. I find it hard to believe that this model is gonna have close to 2000 pieces, regardless if it's a 4x4 or 6x6 variant. Assuming that it has the medium tractor tires, it's gonna be smaller than 42099 in terms of scale. The 42099 has 958 pieces. A set is to be slightly smaller in scale than 42099, but is claimed to have twice the piece count than 42099. The two biggest 4x4 RC Technic sets are 9398 and 41999. 9398 has 1327 parts. 41999 has all the additional bell and whistles and whatnot and has a piece count of 1585. Even the much maligned 42070 with three axles and a crane and 4 outriggers and a bunch of gears inside only peaks at 1862 pieces. TLG can add all the fluff pieces they want, but how this set can get to 2000 pieces, let alone the list 2108 piece count in some sort is truly baffling.
  10. The reason I received is, "You can not publish MOCs that you did not design yourself, even when it's a clone brand."
  11. By popular demand, here it is! Rebrickable doesn't allow me to publish this model, so I host the files in my rebrickable folder. https://bricksafe.com/pages/nguyengiangoc/mitu-mobile-crane In the folder, you can find the part list, the instruction pdf, and the Stud.io digital model. This MOC was recreated based on various speed build videos on YouTube. Some parts have their color changed to match with the current availability of Lego pieces, and some changed to make the build clearer. There are also some modifications to improve the building experience and the model's rigidity. The build sequence is also different from that in the original model. Features: - Rolling wheels - 4 wheel steering. In the original design the front and rear axles have different steering radius. I don't like its design, so I modified them to make them have the same radius. - Opening doors - Synchronized outriggers - 360 degree turntable - Raising crane - Extending crane - Rolling winch No differential or working engine. Enjoy!
  12. They were betting on fans' willingness to pay for a 42099 clone with a license cherry on the top.
  13. Don't chu know that half can mean 1/2 or 1/3 or 1/n in general, depending on context?
  14. Remember the time when misaligned parts only appear in knockoff brand? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
  15. Let's not turn this thread into a place to express opinions about rules.
  16. While looking for some interesting MOC to build today, I suddenly remembered the discussion of a white Mobile Crane by a Chinese brand before the release of the 42108 Mobile Crane last year. As far as I recalled some members seemed to be fond of this model and regarded it to be preferable to the 42108 set. I managed to find some speed build videos of this model on Youtube, so I plan to recreate it in Stud.io and share the part list and instruction. Anyone interested? @Jim Does my plan violate community standards of any sort? As far as I understand the model is no different from a MOC.
  17. What is this new piece that you're referring to?
  18. I can't wrap my head around how a model can stay in the relatively identical dimensions while almost tripling in part count. 8275 has 1384 parts while this set has 3854 parts. 3854/1384 = 2.7
  19. So far among the sets with available candies I'm only interested in the Tow Truck. The 42070 clone and 8275 clone are a bit underwhelming. We still have two candies to wait for: one is a 99.99$ IP Vehicle, and the other one is a 139.99$ IP Vehicle. Isn't it quite sad when the set that got the most hype (at least in this community) is a plain old manual Technic-ish common vehicle and not some branded RC electronics flagship?
  20. And according to the side profile, this set has two L linear actuators, not XL ones.
  21. My guess is that this thing was actually downsized during finalization and will contain less than the 3854 piece count that was previously published. It doesn't look anywhere close to that mark. Even the Sian only has 3696 pieces.
