  1. I've got a closer look at the stickers near the Bionicle teeth and these are what I made out: - Left knob for M motor, right knob for XL motor - Front tooth, lower sticker: steer for M motor, drive for XL motor - Back tooth, upper sticker: winch for M motor, swivel for XL motor - Back tooth, lower sticker: sided outriggers for XL motor.
  2. A closer and slower look at the Tow Truck reveals: - Crane swiveling through 20z gear meshing with 60z turntable. - 6 portal wheel hubs with 8z : 24z gear reduction. - A mini LA for deploying the back outriggers. - Pendular suspensions for rear wheels, with 4 28z turntables. It looks cheaper than the rear suspension in the Arocs -_- - No spring at all?!! This means there is no suspension in the front wheels. The 42069 has a winch at the front. So it's probably like the 42029: a switch between two functions, a knob for manual rotation, and possibly power functions upgradability.
  3. The MSRP for Volvo was 220 EUR, and for BWE was 230 EUR. That truck for 250 EUR, really??!! Even more absurd is that non-PF 42069 for 130 EUR, even more than the Jet. Seriously...
  4. I don't agree with this part though. Compared with those in military tow trucks which have the same look and functions, the crane look just right. It's true that the crane is not telescopic, but cranes in military tow trucks generally look wimpy. I think the designer draws inspiration from these. And the baby blue is there probably to prevent resemblance to any military tow trucks. I think this Tow Truck and the Jet represent a decrease in reluctance from TLG when it comes to making sets based on military vehicles. They just need to dress them and name them differently.
  5. I got it (just my speculation): - One tooth switch between drive mode and crane mode. The idea is that the user can't move and deploy outriggers at the same time. In the drive mode the XL motor drives and the M motor steers. And this tooth is probably the tooth facing the outward on the box, because the hand is use the remote control but this tooth isn't in the right position. - Once the mode-controlling tooth switch to crane mode, the tooth on the other hand switches between + Outriggers: The XL motor deploys all 4 outriggers and the M motor swivels the crane to find the suitable position. + Crane: The M motor lowers the winch and the XL motor lift the whole crane through the LA. Sounds like a perfect user story, from a designer's perspective.
  6. Internal TLG conversations: - And what do we say to Technic fans about models that surpass last year's flagship? Not this year. And the front of the 42068 says Airport Rescue. So its official name may not be "Fire Rescue Vehicle" as leaked.
  7. The fact that the packaging doesn't match the model is not something unusual. Last year the box for the BWE wasn't finalized at the toy fair.
  8. So this is my guess: - Only two motors, no HOG knob, no servo => XL motor drives, M motor steers. - There are 2 teeth on both side, so 4 gears. Since the remote control already switches the direction, those teeth switch between 4 modes, not change direction. - There are no visible knobs at all, so all functions are motorized. - There are at least 3 motorized functions: lifting the crane with the LA, controlling the winch (because there is a 24z clutch gear), and deploying 4 outriggers at the same time. If the side outriggers and the back one are separate then there will be 4 motorized functions. - The playability is greatly reduced if the user has to use 2 switches into drive mode, because if the user forget 1 switch then the only 1 motor will drive / steer, the other motor will do something else with the crane or outriggers. - There are TWO images on one direction of the sticker. - So my bet is that, one turn of a switch control two functions at a time: + Drive mode: Drive (XL) + steer (m) + Outrigger mode: Side outriggers + back outriggers + Crane mode: Winch + LA + Final mode: Crane swivel + ???? - The drive mode and the outrigger mode will be polar opposite, i.e in the same tooth, so that the user doesn't accidentally drive and deploy outriggers at the same time.
  9. I don't really understand how that tracked vehicle need the Claas packaging. It doesn't even seem to have power functions. Maybe it's the equivalent of the 42029 Pick-up Truck? It's even more unusual that the remote control doesn't have red bushes for knobs!
  10. No 42067. What is happening... Also, curved 3x13 panels in black.
  11. Do cranes in tow trucks swivel?
  12. Imagine this: "This is our absolute focus this year, the Air Race Jet. It already has a number of motorized and manual functions. It's the biggest Technic model we've ever launched this year, with over 1000 parts!"
  13. Maybe TLG will surprise us this year by presenting ... the 1H sets at Nuremberg!
  14. It's simple: the 42067 has probably been cancelled and scheduled for 2H 2018 (sounds familiar?)
  15. An article from Volvo about this set: https://volvospiritmagazine.com/a-mini-marvel/
  16. Yes, please google "Lego 42051" and "Lego 42038 B model".
  17. Since the A model and B model are usually in the same theme, 42069 B model will be another adventure vehicle with 4 tracks, ad 42070 B model will be another 6x6 vehicle I can't think of any B model for the Fire Truck though. Any idea?
  18. I'll probably use the annual budget for flagship this year to get the 42055 for the B-model.
  19. Jim also said it's purple and yellow. And since the color usually don't change between prelim and final sets, I think it's official. According to color theory, I think yellow is the accent color, purple and grey or black, not purple alone, will be the background color. Kinda like the color of 42055 or 42048.
  20. From what I've seen in the development from prelim the color usually doesn't change. So I think we're gonna get that color for the flagsip. And after buying the last 5 consecutive flagships it's sad to think that I may not buy this one.
  21. How comes that "what you think " of the 42070 match its prelim image Are you clairvoyant Does that mean you saw the prelim image for the tracked vehicle too On another note, instructions for 42065 and 42066 B model are on! I've just browsed through the 42066 B model instruction, and I feel cheated It use a lot ot same modules as the A model, like the motor drive train, gear box, canopy, batterbox holder, wingspan. Same feeling when you built the 42043 B model.
  22. Me after seeing the prelim:
