  1. That's a good idea. I'll pick up the pump and extension wire.
  2. I think ive found the answer, I just gotta find one of those pumps and a small converter. Thought about wiring one to a pf plug, but I like my motors to much.
  3. Here's an arocs 10x6 I made a couple months ago. It was more less cut and stretch, that's it. The center axle just hangs. I I really hope you get around to building your 10x6. Looked really good.
  4. Ive seen some of those compressors on online, but all are featured as having a max pressure of 350 mmHg. Or roughly 6 psi. Lego needs 30~35 psi. I wonder if that pressure rating is for water.
  5. I think your on to something there, all the pieces fit together now.
  6. I think a three pack here in the US is roughly $4.50
  7. Just looking for a constant compressed. No air tanks needed.
  8. Now that sounds like an interesting little compressor there.
  9. I don't think canisters would fit the need here. The small revell compressed would be perfect, although I don't have a 220/240 outlet in my little lego corner.
  10. I've looked into airbrushing compressor, never thought of a fish tank compressor. I think the airbrush compressor would work better as it'd provide a better, but the fish tank pump is a very interesting idea.
  11. I'm looking for an external compressor, with low enough pressure (25~30 psi) that won't pop off hoses all the time, but will have sufficient feed to a pneumatics system. I was wondering if anyone here used an external compressor for models, and if so what kind.
  12. Just to satisfy my curiousity I decided to remove the 2nd steer axle. I must say the truck looks funny with out it. It's also more unstable now. The removal of 6 pins and the steering link and the axle was free. I really thought more went into connecting the axles to the frame when I built them.
  13. I'm thinking of ordering one, although I'd probably order new valves and hoses (post 42043 hose and valves) and apply them to the system.
  14. That is the only problem i have in my collection of 13,500 technic pieces, but only in those parts that have a rough finish, the ones with smooth finish are just fine. thats all i collect, maybe technic is just super strong because theres no clutch power used in technic, but simple snaps. and the pins have give in them to not expand the inner hole.
  15. That set actually looks promising as a candidate for for the Volvo set. I wish Technic ideas could get more attention though.
  16. If I can figure out to upload a picture I'll show you all a project that my engineering teacher made, it combines technic, and Meccano. I'm not sure what it is though.
  17. What if the new Volvo excavator is going to show case the entire pneumatics system, the 1x5, 1x11, 2x11 and 2x7. All featured in the excavator, 4 2x7's for outriggers,2 2x11 for arm lift, 1x11 for bucket curl, and a 1x5 for a bucket grab. A manometer would be placed on the side of the excavator, built into the excavator, like a viewing window for the meter in the engine bay, in tandem with an airtank. This could be a pneumatic flagship, not the overall flagship, but the flagship for the pneumatics for the decade. It's a viable option.
  18. I've started rebuilding 42043, took me a week to rebuild the front steering and engine assembly, it'll probably take a month to finish the rest. My first technic set was 42009. I made the mistake of dumping the parts into a storage box that was BLACK!. Biggest mistake ever. I almost never found all the pins.
  19. Buy me 2 more 42009's I'll build em, and make the crawler base for it. Then see what it looks like.
  20. Well I'm disappointed were losing out on a nice looking set. But it'll save on my wallet for later on in the year.
  21. I'm really disappointed that 42051 was canceled, I was actually looking forward to it the most. It looked like it was gonna be interesting to build
  22. Does anyone know of any tires that will fit the same rim a 62.4 tire uses.looking for more off a highway tire, deep tread, but still a little knobby.
  23. Ok. I have a correction to make to my earlier post, with the help of sariels gear calculator, with a 5:1 ratio, a 40 tooth gear driving an 8 tooth, and fresh batteries my hobson coupling is turning at 1360 rpms. I've grinding corkboard with it now. This drink coaster will be gone in no time.
  24. I do something similar to what you do, only I align the splits to be parallel with one another.
