Am I strange or is this picture just too funny? ( ) I'm sure that Mouth of Sauron is giggling uncontrollably in the picture.

Not only are they new, they are bloody gothic arches! And. That. Is. AWESOME! Seems like they also come in this new City set.

Yes, the chin strap of the bullet helm is considerably thinner.

"If I can't have the whole cake, nobody should have a piece of it!" I would've been as happy as the next guy had Lego decided to revive Black Falcons in force - but failing that, I think we still got the next best thing: one awesome exclusive figure (and quite many shields so we even might be able to build a tiny Black Falcons 2.0 faction for ourselves). It's much better than having none at all.

I think it is yellow. It can be partly seen also in this pic. But I agree that all we see of the figs actually in the display seem white-y. But then again I find it strange that apparently no one that actually visited the toy fair has commented on it yet. So I'm kinda inclined to suspect it's just photographic illusion, until further notice. At least Celts were known of that, Romans tell us. Nothing to scare those orderly Roman legions like wild, hairy and naked warriors apparently with rather serious case of contempt for their own lives. Apart from being scary it's terribly impractical, of course.

What picture? I'd say the King's Castle box behind the minifigure display has definitely yellow-faced Dragon soldiers handling the catapult (cf. this also).

I agree with kermit, the black hands somehow offset the colour balance of the good guys and the result looks rather awkward to me. I think light or dark bley would have worked much better. Or maybe it's just the pictures and they'll look better in reality. Interesting observation. It does seem like that could be the case, judging by the toy fair pictures. The catalogue pictures on the other hand and even the Castle set package mock-up from the toy fair clearly have yellow-faced foes, so if true this is quite recent and late-in-the-production change.

Single Pane Action Theme Funnies

<nitpick>That would be MacGuffins. </nitpick> -
To be exact, the original source on the names listed the fig as "Revolution Soldier". No proof of course that the names aren't just descriptions instead of official names, but I think they are quite believable. As the leak of Series 10 from Lego's own parts catalogue presumably included all the new molds and prints, the soldier should be expected to have unprinted pants.

For what's it worth, the goodies' shield is much better than the 90's Royal Knights shield it is based on. I still wish they would have chosen differently, but it's ok even as it is. The dragon shield on the other hand looks really lame. That's disappointing. And I'm not liking the minifigures with bright blue arms, black hands and dark bley bodies. The combination somehow looks very awkward. Hopefully they'll look a bit better in real life. The castle isn't spectacular but it is still quite nice, with a sturdy gatehouse, some nice details and enough room for playability. I think, however, that it would look much better with dark bley bottom level instead of the medium dark flesh or whatever colour those brick bricks are. Hoping to have a better look at the smallest set soon.

New Lego 10223 Kingdoms Joust Exclusive

Really? That's #%@!¤ bad news. I thought I had more time. I still have none and I had planned to get two, eventually. -
Hmm, sticks into his forehead? I don't see anything like that. Funny how pixels turn to Rorschach tests...

Yeah, that's what I think too. And the faked scale does help in creating the illusion of difference.

Two? Are you referring to the old one and the new? 'Cause I'm quite sure Elrond and Arwen have the same hairpiece, even if it looks a bit different in the picture - partly because Arwen is shrunk into same heigth as her father despite her using the taller slope piece.

Actual address is lordofthebrick.com without s. I didn't manage to click mountain in the pic, but I found the url from the page's source code. Unfortunately the picture is riddled with confidentiality labels, so I suspect I shouldn't link it here. The picture includes lower part of the preliminary Corsair Ship set in better detail and all the figs from the coming wave. Elrond and Arwen seem to have a new hair piece, both the same except Elrond has his diadem thing printed on the front. I think I'm jumping on the oh-gawd-those-orcs-are-lame bandwagon, all four of them have the same torso from Orc Forge and one of the Black Gate ones actually has an Uruk-Hai helmet. That has to be a stand-in, please? The corsair aka Peter Jackson looks to me like he might actually be sand blue(?) instead of light bley (compared to the helmets of the Dead) or dark bley (compared to Gandalf the Grey). Gandalf the Grey comes with the old long hair part that Dumbledore for example has used.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10 Discussion

Good observation, there's a mug for sure. Not the most exciting accessory imaginable, but will do. I think "world's best grandpa" is a bit too long text to fit there though.- 1,076 replies

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10 Discussion
Haltiamieli replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks! So new-ish information in this picture are: Revolution Soldier has a musket and Paintball Player has "snow goggles" attached to his helmet. Baseball Fielder has a cap, but with what picture? Motorcycle Mechanic (on the right) has maybe a red bandana on his head? Warrior Woman has the spear and Tomahawk Warrior has the tomahawk, as expected (but reversed in some spec pics). Medusa's leg piece doesn't show in the big picture, but I don't notice any big snakey tail pieces among the actual figs. So probably normal legs for her.- 1,076 replies

LEGO Collectible Minifigures Golden Minifigure Discussion
Haltiamieli replied to TrumpetKing's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Okay, the info from FBTB kinda nullifies the current poll results. 5.000 in the whole world means that the figure is so rare that we can simply ignore it's existence and continue on our previous collecting habits. Thus the chase figure does not excite, but neither does it bother me. Admittedly I would be bothered if it was something that I really want. In that sense golden figure is a good choice, as that's something none of us really, really, really want and need and have dreamt of since childhood.- 87 replies

LEGO Collectible Minifigures Golden Minifigure Discussion
Haltiamieli replied to TrumpetKing's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The second question could do with some sort of middlefield answer like "Possibly, depending on how it looks." Because, well, that's how I take all the figures, golden or not: if I like the looks of it, I want it - if it leaves me cold, I leave it on the shelf. Thus I can't honestly answer the third question with any certainty, because the answer depends on whether or not I want the golden one, which I don't know before the pictures. It could be nice for a statue. It could be lame. If the standard box for Series 10 and onwards will hold just 30 figs like we've heard it might, "one per box" wouldn't be any scarcer than Forest Maiden & co. is in Series 9. Could be harder to identify, of course.- 87 replies

If it would set whole production back half a year or more and thus probably lose millions of profits for Lego, I would take a regular brown horse instead of Shadowfax any day. I would lament it, yes, but compared to the alternative it would be easily the better option. We live in an imperfect world.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10 Discussion
Haltiamieli replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I presume that the original leak included all the new parts and colourings from this series. It would be strange if Centurion's accessory would be missing, when all else seems to be accounted for. As such it seems more probable to me that the Centurion will just have the gladius or the spear, or something else from the current parts catalogue.- 1,076 replies

I just wish they could have ignored the movies for a moment and added Aragorn's standard onto the highest mast of the Corsair ship. It is such a cinematic moment in the book. "And all eyes followed his gaze, and behold! upon the foremost ship a great standard broke, and the wind displayed it as she turned towards the Harlond. There flowered a White Tree, and that was for Gondor; but Seven Stars were about it, and a high crown above it, the signs of Elendil that no lord had borne for years beyond count. And the stars flamed in the sunlight, for they were wrought of gems by Arwen daughter of Elrond; and the crown was bright in the morning, for it was wrought of mithril and gold. Thus came Aragorn son of Arathorn, Elessar, Isildur's heir, out of the Paths of the Dead, borne upon a wind from the Sea to the kingdom of Gondor..."

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10 Discussion
Haltiamieli replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
According to Brick Fanatics report from London Toy Fair: "Series 10 of the Collectable Minifigs will be gold and in the series will be 8 golden minifigs hidden to find, expect this series to be massive." So, does one get a visit to the Lego factory with a golden minifig?- 1,076 replies
