Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
benderisgreat replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'm surprised so many people here are upset Wanda isn't in DS set. I mean she is available in Cmf series since September, if you wanted her minifig, you could have gotten her by now. Plus since they can't reuse her from Cmf they would have changed her slightly probably without dual molded arms. If you want Wanda get Cmf version before it retires people! -

Both accessories sets are meh tbh. Rebels one is unnecessary and they should have just made a Rebel BP to oppose Snowtroopers one. Why lego didn't do this in the first place I don't understand. Clones set is meh too. Nothing special here, just P1 clones. Why no P2 clones to coincide with 501 BP and have a way to army build P2 clone army? -

New Doctor Strange set looks good enough. Surprised Strange has new torso print here, would have expected a reuse of Spider-Man set torso here. Wong looks great, although still don’t think Finn hair is right choice for him. America Chavez is meh tbh. Very plain and boring minifig, I hope she gets full superhero costume later in the movie, because this one is boring. Tenticle monster is a fine build here, although I agree with people who say it’s most likely Shuma-gorath just renamed. Overall pretty good set, and I assume the only one we will be getting for Dr Strange 2. -

Wow, such a weird choice on Legos part to make P1Rex and Cody instead of P2. It seems like they go out of their way to not make P2 versions of them. Like we need just 1(!) new mold to make accurate P2 Rex and Cody! They make new molds all the time even for one off characters like Knights of Ren(c’mon they will never be released again) and refuse to make a useful new helmet for P2 Clones that will be reusable for a long time. Their logic just baffles me sometimes. We have 501 bp on market with P2 clones and no way to get their captain to army build. Where’s LEGOs logic here? Sure it’s nice to have any version of Rex and Cody, but majority of fans wanted P2 versions, and yet we don’t have them. Any reasonable person would have made those highly requested figures already and reaped big money on their sales. -

So new minifig packs sound lame. Plane P1 Clones and Rebels from Hoth. Another case of missed opportunity to include desired minifigs -

When I said ‘hate’ that was obviously an exaggeration. They simply don’t make as many PT sets as a lot of fans including myself would want to see. That’s it, nothing more than that. While they make a ton of OT sets some even so obscure like new Hoth At-St, nobody would think that LEGO will ever make, we still lack a ton of iconic stuff from prequels. -

That's just like your opinion man. Facts point to different direction than one you seem to believe in. -

Doesn't mean that only OT sells. Don't want to start another discussion war, there has already been enough threads on this forum on this topic. But to sum up PT has a whole new generation of young adults who grew up with CW and Prequels who have disposable income to buy Lego. And Lego seems oblivious to this untapped potential market. -

Another helmet announced and it’s OT adjacent character. And some still say LEGO doesn’t hate prequels! I mean we had helmets for 2 years and all characters used in series are OT! No Clone trooper or FO Stormtrooper or Droid head. All OT… -
With rumors of something else coming for Stranger Things next year, could it be next UCS set like Upside down? Maybe even Star court mall? While I don't usually buy Ucs sets, I will happily get a Star court mall if it's well done set.

So, just saw 2 new sets and they are ok, nothing amazing except for that boxart. At-st is ok, I don't think anyone actually wanted this thing to be based on Hoth version, as it's barely in ESB, and not that similar to iconic Endor version. Figures are meh tbh, only real worthy addition is Chewie with snow printed on him. And for 50$ set I would expect 4 figures instead of 3, easy to throw another random rebel trooper. Hoth BP is very generic looking one. On positive side good showtroopers and no more stud shooters in bp, yay! On negative 20$ for this set is insane. You can't convince me that this BP provides more value than last 15$ BP in 2020. Same piece count and figure count, yet 20$ now! Insane 33% price hike, without giving us better value. And no minifigure display stand that we rumored for a while. Overall ok sets, but nothing great so far winter wave looks like easy skip for me untill Bp is on discount. -

So all was have for winter 22 sets are just mechs and Iron Man buildable figure? Seem likeweak line up build wise. Iron Man mech is ok, figure is very good, even though it reuses new helmet piece which I hate. Black Panther is probably best mech of all this line. Good minifigure that kinda looks like Mcu version, and solid mech. Although I'm slightly put off by Lego reusing Queer eye face here instead of CMF T'Chala face. And then there's Wolverine. Mech is meh, and minifigure I'd terrible! Loosso bland and boring, legs definitely needed either prints or dual molding to show some details. Iron man buildable figure is a miss for me, although I'm curious to see review of this set just cause. -

I think they should reuse 2002 mold for Goblin helmet. It just fits character better than reusing Ant-man helmet. -

With all this news about brick built Rancor, I’m so happy i still have awesome 2013 version! Shame that LEGO doesn’t seem to want to reuse old mold here. -

Simply put we got a very good Dagobah set a few years ago, and I don't see the reason to make a bigger version without making it substantially different. -

So both Yoda training and Death Star sets are 18+ dioramas for a lot of money? Another safe and lazy chiices by LEGO. This also means no confirmed PT sets in first half of 22. Should I even act surprised? -

Expensive CW sets is easy for LEGO to do. They could just make Clone Turbo Tank or AT-TE with CW design as 120$-130$ sets, and put some highly desired CW figures there like new Phase 2 Cody and Rex along with other clones. -

As much as I’d like it to be true, seems unlikely. I just hope it’s new Black Panther minifig and not reused 2020 version. As long as there’s leg prints he should be good. -

No, his outfit is pretty much his black robes from the end of ep 6 with cape and hood. They will probably reuse ep 6 Luke minifigure. -

So this battlepack isn’t really a bp, but rather set based on that scene of Luke fighting Darktroopers on Gideon’s ship. Ok, I’m fine with this as long as they don’t call this set a bp. -

2 most likely, 3 if we’re lucky. Ragnarok got 2 sets so at least we can expect as many. Character wise we have Thor, Jane, Gor the god butcher and Valkyrie as bare minimum. Lady Sif, Korg and Miek are likely to be included too. -

If Republic tank rumor is true I’m happy, finally a winter set not based on Ot! As for minifigs, Mace is a boring choice and has been in a few sets in past 3-4 years. As for clones, I doubt LEGO will make 187, but rather Maces troops from CW season 7. -

Honestly I wouldn't take Lego designer at their word. Corporate code and yada-yada. Considering the way they treated fans lately I would expect them to lie on this topic just cause. Let's face it minifigures sell sets, if they released SW CMF they would potentially lose on set sales. If if that's not the reason, they just don't want to sell us Sw Cmf.
