  1. New Cap 4 set looks like typical Marvel set: lame build with recognizable characters. Hope the minifigs are high-quality at least, especially at this price point.
  2. I heard this explanation from designers before. The space for new parts issue means they don’t have enough storage capacity for all those parts which in Legos case means they don’t want to invest more money in storage facilities. Then there’s legos internal design guidelines and rules to which we as fans aren’t privy to. They could just allow more budget for a theme and it won’t make a significant dent in their budget. What you mentioned about designers having to choose more characters for a set with less detailed prints or less characters with more detailed prints is a result of their internal guidelines. Those guidelines can be changed to make higher quality product. But they chose not to do make any changes and we get worse figures. I mean it’s 2024, and we still live in a world where only some minifigs get leg printing, how ridiculous is that? Lego is capable of dual/triple molding, arm and side leg printing but chose not do most of those with Marvel theme! X- Mansion is a mixed bag minifig wise as some of them are really good(Bishop, Iceman, Jean Grey) and some are pretty bad(Rogue, Professor X). But in general Lego just doesn’t treat Marvel line with a lot of care and quality in my opinion and chose to cut corners all the time. We’ve had same Hud Tony Star face since 2018 and it’s gotten old, why not make a new face for one of the most used characters? Or using fat Thors face with younger versions of the character where that face looks bad and inaccurate. Not to mention some terrible priced sets like Hoopty and X-jet. Your think with both of them costing around 80-90$ and having 350-500 pieces they’d at least make minifigs look as good as possible but they didn’t and those sets are seen as some of the worst value Marvel sets ever made. So the problem is Lego cutting corners and not showing any improvements in quality.
  3. That’s probably the best comment on this topic. It’s actually good idea for Lego to focus on 1-2 MCU movies for a years meaning we’ll only get character versions based on that movie like only Avengers 1 Iron Man, Cap and Thor. But Lego seems to want to make as many variants of characters at a time as possible. And really good point on why Lego doesn’t want to make as detailed minifigs. They just think they can get away with making lower quality figures. From interviews with designers that I’ve read it seems like they want to make as detailed and high quality products as possibly but Legos internal policies prevent designers from doing so. It barely costs them anything to produce new printed pieces like legs. But they prefer to save money instead.
  4. The pic is blurry but knowing Lego BP is reused from CW airport set coming early next year. So that BP needs leg prints as he has intricate suit in Mcu including legs. For Red Hulk his pants are torn when he transforms so he should have torn pants print on dual moulded legs. Or just dual moulded legs still works.
  5. As for January wave Black Panther needed leg prints, and Spidey needed dual moulded legs that he had in many sets in the past. And printed/dual moulded legs for Red Hulk Shame Lego chooses to save pennies here instead of actually putting more effort into quality of the product. It barely costs them anything to print legs
  6. If you mean marvel theme in general: Captain America, Thor, Scarlet Witch, Black Panther(he has detailed pants in movies),Captain Marvel, Spiderman villains(Green Goblin, Doc Ock). Basically a vast majority of Marvel characters especially those based on movies need leg prints. I’m not sure how you can excuse such obvious penny pinching by Lego when it comes to Marvel theme. Leg prints should be a normality not a luxury for LEGO minifigs.
  7. Plain legs have one simple explanation Lego is penny pinching with Superheroes line. Barely any minifigs gets leg prints these days(except for Iron Man).
  8. New sets look surprisingly good. Even Venom car is decent for what it is! Iron man car is good, and new comic book version of Iron Man is actually great! BP looks like a reuse and new Red Hulk looks meh (hope his big dog looks better). And we finally get Spider-Verse set! Miles looks good and Spot is surprisingly detailed. The build is alright but it’s nice to know we can get more Spider-Verse sets in the future .
  9. Finally we get new DC sets! Tumbler looks good with new Joker and Two-Face minifigs. Superman mech Vs Lex is the opposite of what I was expecting from this set. Like why Superman would even get a mech here instead of Lex?! The figures are great though.
  10. Ok thanks for clarifying. Never seen this design for Dazzler before myself. Weird choice of the character for that special though.
  11. If that’s Dazzler then the design is very strange compared to her more traditional outfit. Kinda looks more like Captain Marvel to me due to her logos.
  12. Why do Lego designs minifigs in those D+ specials so well and when it comes to the sets they are so bad looking? New Cap Marvel has amazing prints and headband(for some reason), The Thing is finally a big fig! Not to mention how they give Captain America leg prints/dual molding yet Lego is too cheap to include it in a physical sets. The Superheroes theme has been cutting corners for years and it doesn’t seem like lego wants to change and make better minifigs…
  13. New leaks are definitely something else. X Mansion looks amazing, the figure lineup could be better, but stills lot of good ones. The build of the mansion itself is really good and would be amazing display. The Sentinel itself looks wonky to me though. Civil War battle is a huge disappointment! It's 8 years since the movie came out yet the 2016 set is better version of the scene even if it was base don concept art!!! How is it possible?! Figures look ok, the pic is too blurry to judge msot of them, but Wanda once again comes without cloth skirt, when Lego included it in previous sets... Why are they so inconsistent with cloth pieces these days? Like it's already being produced for Avengers Tower set, why not include it here? The build is also very weak when it comes to the airport. Ant-Man looks alright but I'd prefer if they made him in the same big minifig style as 2016 instead of the action figure like 2023 one. And the Quinjet is so bad, why did they even include it here if it's so downsized and looks like chibi version? Overall build wise bad set, minifigs wise to early to tell, but knowing how Lego loves cutting corners I wouldn't be expecting miracles. As for Marvel logo it's basically what I expected it to be. Maybe there's some hidden function there, but it's mainly a display piece. Figures are too blurry, but Cap definitely has his WW 2 suit! Finally we get this version of Cap! Not sure which version of Thor this one is based on as well as Black Widow. Hulk looks a bit too plain. Btw why isn't there a new Hawkeye? Why not include all 6 main Avengers in this set? Seems like a weird omission. Also no Stan Lee, which is understandable, but still disappointing to not include the man behind Marvel here.
  14. Jabba’s sail barge looks great, that leak in 2023 didn’t do it any favors and final version is great! But it has issues for me: price and separate skiff and Sarlacc pit, minifigs. Sail barge price for 500$ is very overpriced for what it offers to buyers. Either it should have been 400$ as is or include Skiff and Sarlacc pit for the 500$ price. The fact that to complete a scene in a Ucs set we have to spend 580$ is crazy to me! Why did they even make a skiff in a separate set instead of combining the 2 for one big Ucs set?! As for the minifigs count and quality it’s a mixed bag. Jabba and Max Rebo look great, and his guards and R2 do too. But Bib Fortuna reusing his fat lekku pice form Boba Fett show instead on more slim one is just another example of LEGO cutting corners. It’s a Ucs set aimed at adult collectors but they don’t even bother making accurate Bib Fortuna for the scene! Also Sullacious B Crumb looks terrible without pupils! It’s like he’s possessed or something. C-3PO not having silver leg is just lazy especially considering they’re already producing the version of him with more accurate leg at the moment. And slave Leia’s skirt being dual molded when in the movie it doesn’t fully cover her is weird choice. I get they made a safe choice and minifig looks really accurate otherwise but I’m mixed on this choice myself. Overall Sail barge is a good set with the flaws that could have easily been avoided if Lego wasn’t cutting corners and penny pinching.
  15. Both sets could be a decent dioramas. Titan battle would have Thanos, Iron Man, Spider-man, Star-Lord, Dr Strange, Drax and Nebula with the wreckage of Titan for like 100$. And Wakanda could have Thors arrival scene with some foliage, Thor, Rocket, Groot, Cap, Black Widow, T’Challa, Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive
  16. With rumors of new Endgame final battle set in 2025, is anyone else surprised that we never got new Infinity Wars sets? Like we constantly get more Endgame sets these days, but not IW. Both movies were popular and successful yet only 1 gets new sets. Any chance we’d get more Infinity War sets in next couple of years? There’s lots of scenes to be made into a set now that it’s been 6 years so nothing to spoil anymore.
  17. I feel like Lego tries some different things every couple of years to see if it sticks. Yes rebel helmet was hated upon the release and so was the Stormtrooper helmet yet they only got rid of one of those helmet molds. As for the phasing out cloth pieces it’s possible, but why? They are dirt cheap to produce and look good. Besides I can’t imagine them giving characters in other themes these new rubber capes( imagine Vader with this cape). Personally my only issue with rubber capes is that it limits hairpieces that can be used with minifigs and that’s a big problem.
  18. So after buying some of the August sets I have mixed feelings on new rubber capes. While they look good for display type of sets like AoU diorama, I feel like they are terrible for playsets and accuracy when it comes to minifigs. The fact these new capes limit the hairpiece choices due to the shape of the new mold means we get less accurate minifigs like Thor who needed Love and Thunder hairpiece in Ragnarok set instead of shorter hair. Does anyone think Lego will keep using new capes next year or drop the piece entirely like they did with 2018 Rebel pilot helmets from SW?
  19. True, and most of comics draw them both very inconsistently when it comes to size. Leaked footage from SDCC showed Thing on a dating show but he was in the darkness. His silhouette looks way bigger than normal guys sitting next to him. So if I had to guess he'd be a bigfig. Sure he could be done as in-between size character but I doubt Lego will bother.
  20. Well in the comics The Thing is usually about the same size as Hulk. So he has to be bigfig. How can he possibly be done as a minifig? Avatar long arms/ legs won’t work here. Not to mention Thing was already a bigfig in 2013 Lego Marvel Superheroes game and looked great.
  21. With F4 coming next year we have to get sets right? Galactus would work perfectly as buildable figure and part of Baxter building and Fantasticar as 2 sets. The Thing has to be a new big fig mold considering how unique his rocky texture is. Also is it possible we’ll get 2 versions of Mr Fantastic and Human Torch, like 1 in team suits and 1 with their powers (Johnny on fire and Reed with stretchy arms)?
  22. New Cap trailer gives good look at Sams new suit, which let's face it won't be nearly as detailed as Cmf Sam. Curious to see how Red Hulk will look with new bigfig mold.
  23. This looks some much better! I think Ashoka is the only character for whom colored eyes work(mostly). But Hera and Ezra definitely didn’t need blue eyes as they make them looks so off! Same with sith yellow eyes for Maul and Sidius, they just don’t work.
  24. New January rumors suggest we might get a good lineup of sets. Arc-170 if the design and minifigs are good it’s an instant buy for me. Been too long since last version of this ship. Ahsoka’s Jedi Interceptor could be a good way to give us 2014 CW version with updated design. But the price of 40$ for Jedi Interceptor seems too much, let’s see the design first. Hopefully we’ll also get Revenge of the Sith anniversary sets. Maybe 18+ diorama of Palestine’s Arrest or Mustafar Duel can happen? And I’d like new Anakin minifig for Ep 3, it’s been 4 years since he was last made!
  25. When it comes to the question of Lego not giving Marvel theme enough love it seems true to me. Just look at Marvel them even a few years back to 2019 which I think was it's best year sales wise. Reused and inaccurate head prints, lack of leg prints on the minifigs, and mostly repetitive sets. And look at the the theme now, same issues. Lego is just too cheap to give this theme more budget. Like how is it possible in 2024 we still have minifigs without leg prints in Marvel theme so often? The only time character gets leg prints unless they are Iron Man, is if Lego can reuse this print on other minifigs(Guardians suits, BW legs). And the reused and inaccurate faces don't help. They used the same face for both Ant-Man(who's in his late 40s) and Spiderman (16-17 year old teen). And fat Thors head being reused for his younger version when it doesn't even fit. Let's face it Lego has been penny pinching with Marvel theme for a long time now.
