Marvel Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
benderisgreat replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yep, this price is just baffling. With all the hate towards Captain Marvel character you’d think they price the set reasonably, so people would be more inclined to buy the set. But Legos logic is nonexistent these days. Like for 420 pcs set ideal price would be 40-45$, good price would be 50$, 60-70$ would be overpriced(but tolerable). But at 90$ it’s just ridiculous to think someone at Lego thought “that’s reasonable price for fan favorite character, that we didn’t even bother to design leg or arm print for”. -

Marvels set is just ok. While ship is nice, I don’t see 90$ here, should be 50$ at most. Minifigs are nice, but only Kamala gets leg print for some reason. Also no main villain again? Why didn’t Lego include Dar-Ben here? So far this year we haven’t gotten main villain for either Quantumania or Guardians Vol.3. Why is there “no villains” policy all of the sudden? -

No, with Cmf level quality any Iron man suit would look amazing. Cap and Widow versions would have been amazing inclusion since Lego doesn’t seem to want to make those versions of them. Plus they all are Mcu A-listers so they would have sold great. But instead we have Echo( I’ve never heard somebody say she is their favorite character) and boring Werewolf. -

So can anyone explain was Kang never happening in the first place and leakers just confused him with Goliath due to similar appearances in preliminary pictures? Or was Kang originally supposed to be there, but due to Jonathan Majors allegations they decided to replace already designed Kang with Goliath? In any case this Cmf is just a wasted opportunity. They could have made highly detailed Iron Man suit with dual molded legs and printed arms, stealth suit Cap or Black Widow from Endgame. Instead we get Echo(why are Lego so bad with their choices?!)… -

This is the first Cmf series in a long time where I only love 1 minifigure. Moon Knight is the only standout here, the rest range from terrible to meh. Why did Lego stick to D+ only characters? The could have made characters from older movies which we wanted for a long time like Odin or stealth suit Cap and people would have loved it! Even if they wanted to stick to D+ they could have made Infinity Ultron or Strange Supreme which we all were asking for when Cmf 1 came out. Such a wasted opportunity here... -

Wow, this Cmf looks so bad! Other than Moon knight the whole roster looks very weak. And Lego really screwed us over by replacing Kang with Goliath. While this is still grainy picture, this series is a massive disappointment and downgrade from Series 1. They should have just done Infinity Saga Cmf instead! -

No way Lego scraps entire Cmf line if Marvel boxes flop. Since it takes time for big corporations to see sales number I’d guess they will notice potential drop in sales when next Cmf series(whatever it will be) will drop in January 24. And if they are smart(which I doubt) they will put new Cmf in bags again. And yes, ‘eco-friendly’ boxes is typical corporate lingo, which really means cutting costs. If they really cared about Cmf packaging being eco-friendly they could easily make paper bags for Cmf. -

These new descriptions unfortunately confirm boxes for Cmf which is terrible and anti-consumer! I don’t believe Legos line about being eco-friendly, its just a poor excuse for anti-consumer practices. Vydio already showed that boxes are bad, and I think Marvel Cmf will fail because of boxes. -

Ghost looks amazing! Bigger interior and just overall looks better than 2014 one. Phantom is meh, but I'm surprised they even included it here, instead of making it separate set again. Minifigs are meh here, Hera is the only great minifig here, shame Lego didn't include Zeb here( hopefully he is in the show). Funny how we have 2 170$ sets at the same time with Ghost and Yavin 4 that someone things right and some wrong(bad build and great minifigs in Yavin and great build with meh minifigures in Ghost). -

Jim’s face matches Andrew expression but not accurate as he has slight stubble, hairpiece for Andrew works though.Tobey is way worse though as that Han Solo face just doesn’t work for him and they included inaccurate hairpiece too. As far as quality goes Marvel theme is in legos doghouse. Both Star Wars and Harry Potter get way better minifigs than Marvel. It’s like Lego doesn’t even care about quality in Marvel sets… -

Well, to no one’s surprise Lego reused faces for all 3 Spider-Men in Statue of Liberty set. And they all don’t fit at all, and Tobey even got inaccurate hairpiece, when combed over piece was better. Lego just raised prices and still can’t be bothered to add some attention to details Marvel sets. Like Tom Holland just had his unique face in Cmf, why didn’t they reuse it here? It’s already created, just reprint it and use! The set is already overpriced, and accurate faces would help people see more value in the set. Lego is so greedy lately it’s ridiculous at this point. -

New Caps shield was already kinda meh set to me, but that minifig killed it. This is the most lazy inclusion I be seen Lego do in years! If they chose not to include exclusive WW2 Cap or Stealth suit, they shouldn’t have included any minifigs in the set. At least that way it’s just a weird display piece and nothing more. Now it’s weird display piece with lazy minifig! -

New pics are kinda mixed bag for me. A-force battle is so disappointing in many ways, reused Okoye, Shuri, Wanda and Cap Marvel. Cool new Valkyrie and Thanos. But no minifig in the set has leg prints!!! Like what’s wrong with Lego?! It’s 2023 and they think no leg prints is somehow ok especially in more expensive sets! The build is predictable bad, but it’s a rubble of Avengers compound, not much can be done here. No way Home final battle is mixed as well. Statue of Liberty head and 3 Spideys looks good, but the villains… like how is that Green goblin so bad?! Doc Ock is not that much better, but at least he has leg prints along with Electro. Dr Strange, Ned and Mj look ok. -

So since the a-force set is kinda confirmed now doesn't it seem like classic Lego move to not include 2014 Gamora and 2023 Nebula in the set and instead use repeats of Okoye and Shuri here? I mean we still haven't gotten 2023 Nebula and 2014 Gamora in black outfit was requested since Gotg 1. Perfect opportunity to include them both here, but nope, Lego screwed us over again. -

I hope we just get high quality minifigs here. New Iron Man, Hawkeye, Thor, Banner, Wanda, Vision and Quicksilver. And they shouldn’t reuse fat Thor face for AoU Thor as it doesn’t fit him at all. -

After watching Guardians 3 a couple of times, I can say Lego really botched the sets and minifigs. When can we discuss sets in spoilery context btw? -

If we return to topic of missing characters since High Evolutionary is missing in other companies toy lines as well, I think it's more understandable why Lego didn't even make him(although still disappointing). When it comes to Gamora there's no logical reason here, she was heavily featured in marketing and important character to the story. Someone will inevitably bring budget as reason, but only Adam Warlock has entirely new figure in the wave. All guardians share same torso and leg prints among them, so Lego must have saved money on their design here, as opposed to making 5 entirely new figures to represent each member. I hope I'm wrong but it looks like they just didn't care enough to make Gamora here. -

With all this"why High evolutionary wasn't in the sets" discussion why isn't anyone asking "where's Gamora?". -

Last time Hawkeye was in the set was 2020. That's 3 years without new minifig(Lego didn't even include him in this year's Quinjet where he would have been a great fit), plus he is the star of the show along with Kate, so it makes sense to include him. Ms Marvel will definitely be in The Marvels set later this year, so no need to worry. -

New 4+ set is ok, but minifigs are intriguing. Today has High republic robes on which look slightly cartoony, but still good, but what’s with that face?! Is it reuse of old CW head or completely new one? Regardless it’s easy to swap for standard Yoda head. Padawans look good, but what’s with that strange canister printed on their torsos? Overall good figs, bad builds as expected for 4+ set. For 25$ I’d buy this set for minifigs alone, but not 40$. -

Higher quality of new endor Leia and Luke from throne room set leaked. Wow that new hairpiece is so bad on Luke, looks way oversized to the point that I prefer old hairpiece for Luke. New Leia looks good though, although poncho would be preferable option in my opinion. -

New Mando set looks great! Bo-Katan figure looks way better than 2021 one. Hopefully she gets new headprint and hairpiece too. As for new darksber while it's better than just 4l bar it's still not great. Pic is poor quality, but it doesn't look like new blade piece has white prints like Darksber should have. Honestly I expected Lego to make Darksaber as one piece with blade and hilt molded together, but oh well. -

Yep, same face for both but still leg prints on some random one off characters!!! Lego somehow manages not to give leg prints to named main characters in Marvel theme like Cap, Black Widow or Thor in recent Quinjet. -

SW line just got new set revealed where 2 random pirates got new face and full leg prints, where in Marvel theme even named character’s can’t get new face or leg prints. Just ridiculous situation, Marvel line gets no love from Lego. -

So the only Mando set that wasn’t revealed yet is mandolorian fighter vs Tie interceptor. Any chance we get some cool minifigs there? If rumors about S3 are true we might see Moff Gideon in new suit this season. Also new Mando helmet looks sick, but I’ve noticed there’s no darksaber in microfighter. Does anyone also think Lego will cheap out again and not make new mold for darksaber?
