  1. I don't think it would leave more room for non-car Technic sets. Were they to spin off Technic cars into into a new Racers or Model Team series, those sets would just take Technic's production slots (so the same number of sets overall), not necessarily allow more traditional Technic sets. Of course, they could also invest more production slots into Technic, but they don't need a new theme for that.
  2. That's the same head as yesterday, just seen from a lower angle.
  3. From Brickset: LEGO partners with Tongal to launch LEGO World Builder --- So apparenty it's a site to pitch entire themes to Lego. Simillar to Ideas, but projects don't automatically get reviewed once they get a certanin number of supporters, so there isn't a public review phase and all that. Other users can also contribute to a project. Also, 3rd party licenses are not allowed. What do you think?
  4. I don't think it would be possible to actually sense every key while keeping it within a reasonable budget. You would need either a sensor for each of the 25 keys (which would get large and expensive really fast), or a custom piece with 25 sensors of some sort. This couldn't be done with just a better app.
  5. The AW609 looks way too different from the Osprey, you can't just rebrand 42113 into one. For example, the AW609 has a round fuselage, while the V-22 has large sponsons on either side. Also, Leonardo (formerly Agusta-Westland) is also an active weapons manufacturer, so at least part of the original concerns won't be solved
  6. Well, they just said that they will "review" its release, not outright cancel it. I think it's still possible that they will back down from this once the dust settles and release the set, even if they only give it a limited release.
  7. All the cantinas we've had have been relatively small. This new UCS one could have the entire floorplan, or at least an aproximation:
  8. Here are the mosaics! https://brickset.com/article/52230/introducing-lego-art Surprisingly, each set contains pieces for three or four alternative designs, and three of the Star Wars or Iron Man mosaics can be combined for a larger mosaic.
  9. They did release Wall-E under Ideas a few years ago, so Pixar properties aren't out of the question. Also, Ratatouille isn't in the spotlight anymore (can't belive it's been 13 years ), so I don't think that disney would push for it being in an standalone theme. At least they didn't for the Steamboat Willie. If anything, I think the Ratatouille project's achiles heel is its size, although that seems to be less of a problem nowadays.
  10. They certainly don't reflect their production costs. The 42109 Rally Car's PU components would cost about 150€ if bought directly, while the set costs 130€! My guess for that markup is that TLC would rather have customers buying whole sets (and all non-electronic pieces they contain), instead of buying the electronic parts separately. Also, keep in mind that every item in Bricklink comes from a Lego set, so they still reap an indirect profit from those.
  11. Should be an easy problem to solve with a ratchet mechanism, like in the 9396 Helicopter:
  12. That render with the planned hubs is (IIRC) two years old at this point, so the final design of the "simple" BB might have changed. The two switches on top might have been changed to a single one on the other side. The new drawing could also be wrong in some way.
  13. Looks good so far, although it seems that the wings can't pivot into the fuselage. If you look closely there's "rescue" written on the upper fuselage - so that's how they got arround that. Looking forward to the B-2 Spirit in aerial firefighter colours .
  14. Land Rover hasn't been part of BMW since 2000. They now belong to Tata, together with Jaguar. Though TLC colaborated with BMW on the R1200GS (42063) and in a Speed Champions set with MINI, so who knows.
  15. @jrx, who saw the set at Nuremberg, insists that the set is a V-22 Osprey and not the AW609.
  16. It's just a new marketing thing they are trying. Other sets using it are the Star Wars busts, UCS A-Wing, Architecture White House and Haunted House. Not only the recommended age changes, but also the Lego logo is now in the lower left corner and a logo of the product is in the upper left.
  17. What about removing the clear plastic window and keeping a simillar tray, but made of cardboard? Something like the image bellow, but with more sophisticated printing. Could also reduce the number of plastic bags used! Configuring the assembly lines to a new style of box would be expensive, though.
  18. Other than MK's track record, I don't see much of a resemblance between the teaser picture and the MK set. The small black panels are under the mudguards on the MK and over on the TLG one. There's also a second panel under the first one on the MK. The TLG teaser also shows a panel on the doors, while the MK uses brick-buiilt doors. There's also a 1x3 beam visible to the right of the wheel and under the mudguard, which isn't on the MK. Finally, the MK doesn't even have brake calipers! In short, the only thing they have in common is the presence of mudguards, and we can't even see them properly.
  19. Better pictures of the White House are up: https://www.promobricks.de/lego-architecture-21054-the-white-house-erstes-bild/99485/
  20. So it seems that 21037 the LEGO House was availave on lego.com for a while today, although it's now been removed: https://brickset.com/article/50012/21037-lego-house-available-from-lego-com
  21. I think that what Lego Ideas doesn't allow is bringing back a set as it was, but that they don't have a problem with projects revisiting ideas (such as the ISS, which was released both as an Ideas set and as a Discovery set in 2003). This Krusty Krab project has nothing in common with the old sets except for the minifigs and the subject matter, so it falls in the later category.
  22. The one on the Monty Mole set? It's an Stone-Eye.
  23. With the codename "art", I suppose that 31197 is one of Andy Wharhol's prints of Marilyn Monroe, and not just a normal photography of the actress.
  24. EDIT: Nevermind
