Good idea for such a topic :) I've been working on this 1:10 supercar for a long time. It's nearing completion, although with my pace of building it will probably still take a long time before it's finished. The bodywork (except the rear) and chassis is more or less finished, with most of the remaining work being interior, lights and various minor details. The chassis has a fake V6, sequential 4-speed, and of course steering + independent suspension.

[WIP] Porsche 911 RSR
jensbrix replied to jensbrix's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Ok thanks, do you have a source you can share maybe? Thanks. I missed them in my last order, but I will try to get them next time. Although I think I prefer the deep looks of the current ones, especially on the rear axle, but I will give them a try at some point -
Hi, I've been working on this project in recent months, and I felt like sharing it at its current state. The majority of the design is based on my favourite car, the Porsche 911 964 RS 3.8. However, as I find it difficult to replicate the front of the 964, I've added a bit of the 911 997 GT3 RSR into the mix. At this point, the content of this post is only related to bodywork as I've always found it very difficult to develop. I've also worked on the chassis in parallel, which contains steering (maybe HoG should be added), suspension, a flat 6 engine, and a manual 4-speed gearbox with linkage. Maybe I will include the chassis in the next post. The front and rear axles are 25 and 27 studs wide respectively. Obviously the A-pillars are still missing, and some parts of the bodywork are still floating. I'm currently considering if the roof should be narrower and tilted slightly, but I guess it will be more clear when I start to design the A-pillars. I'd be very happy to hear some ideas for improvements, things that seem out of proportion and general feedback. Also, I installed BrickLink Studio to make the renders, but I found it difficult to make the 19L flex axles around the wheel arches look natural. Do any of you have some good advice on use of the flex tool in Studio? Best regards, Jens

Volcano RS Supercar
jensbrix replied to Charbel's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
After seeing these pictures, I'm also bigger fan of the new front. Can't wait for the instructions, at the moment I must say that this is the prettiest LEGO supercar I have yet to see. Astonishing bodywork and lines while still looking simple (eg. the body not being a mess of connectors and flex, which I often think some MOCs tend to be, no offense). Amazing work -

It looks absolutely incredible, I like both versions of the front. Are there any chance of instructions for this beauty :) ? -
[PORSCHE] Porsche Carrera GT
jensbrix replied to Fanylover's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Impressive MOC, one of the best so far! For some reason I always thought the Carrera GT was a flat 10, always good to learn something new :) -
Hello guys, This is what I've been working on for the past month or so, which will be my entry for the Porsche contest. It's of course one of the most succesful racing cars of all time, the 956. In the beginning of the 80's, it took 4 consecutive wins at Le Mans, before its successor, the 962, continued taking another few victories. The 956 and 962 still remained competitive into the 90's, and the 956 holds the 33-year old lap record of the Nurburgring Nordschleife. It's not finished yet, however I've reached the point where I know where most things has to go, and I will start rebuilding it and include the remaining features. It has: - 4 speed manual gearbox with shifter linkage - Flat 6 fake engine - Steering with steering wheel and HOG - Full independent suspension I choose to go with a very simple bodywork, partly because of the parts I have available, and partly because I like the chassis and its workings to be visible. The chassis is pretty rigid, and the car is easily picked up and moved by its roof. Next step is rebuilding it will all of its features, and add some details to the engine and chassis (exhausts, intercoolers, etc.), before taking some pictures with a proper camera for the contest entry :)

Technic Pub

Anyone here watching the 24H Le Mans? Glad to see Porsche on pole! Is it just me, or is the Audi the ugliest LMP ever? -
This is incredible, all those functions in this scale! Im especially fan of the adjustable ride height, have to try that out at some point :)

I had an engineering internship down there 1½ year ago, it is so nostalgic to see this video :) Actually, 17:02 isn't the Technic designers, it is one of the main offices of the engineering department (lots of simulations, tests, etc. going on there)

Yeah, I got that bit, but I didn't understand how they would get back in position again, without changing the gear back. I just found this video which shows it quite well, if anyone else is confused :)

Are anyone able to give a good explanation of the shifting mechanism in the steering column? I have been looking at the instruction a few times by now, but unfortunately don't have the parts to fully recreate it, and I have a hard time understanding it. Thanks in advance :)

Gotta love the slipknot to accompany it :) -
[MOC] Lancia Stratos 1:8 Scale

This is astonishing, probably my favourite rally car of all time, and you've recreated every bit so beautifully :) -

Amazing work here, this thread make me take apart my current supercar project just to rebuild the suspensions :) Looking forward to your updates! -
Im sorry that my post seemed to make you angry, which was not my intent. But since I briefly saw the model in an early design phase, I can't be sure about any details. And giving any false info here would be my least interest. And for the record, when my girlfriend says I should be excited for dinner it usually makes me glad :) As I said, I only briefly saw a model, and there have obviously been many changes since then. But it was around 1:8 scale, and seemed to have some sorts of power functions

LEGO Technic idea - Sailboat
jensbrix replied to jensbrix's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Awesome model you've made. It would be really cool to see some sort of keelboat MOC that would tilt when in strong wind. I think there's a lot of cool mechanics that are kinda untried in LEGO - I can understand the problems that will occur with water and electronics, but I guess TLG could sort that out at some point :) -
Just went out sailing with my family in law, which got me thinking: have any of you ever seen a LEGO Technic sailboat? I thought it could be a pretty cool idea for a future "flagship" set. Lots of oppurtunities for new parts and functions, ie. sails, pulleys, gearboxes switching between different ropes and lines for power function compatibility! What do you think?

Hi guys, a lot of building lately. Yesterday i decided to disassemble my 42039, hoping something awesome would come out of it. I like how the front and rear is shaping up, however, I'm starting to feel limited by the ammount of parts in the set. It's got a fake engine, 2-speed gearbox, full suspension and working steering. I just did a quick mock-up of the last couple of panels for the photos. I don't think I will finish it though. I'm not completely satisfied with the connection of body and chassis, and I miss the functions of the original. Instead I will try to make a new build of the original, but modifying the visuals towards this model. Cheers
