  1. Oh, that is spot on. Living down the street from a machine works factory, I see one of those just about every week. Good job. Gotta save that pic to show to the business manager there.
  2. Actually, it is proportional when compared to the real plant at my church. The reason the azalea bush has no flowers is because we had an early thaw and then a cold snap that destroyed the flowers. The little flowers are supposed to be 'black-eyed Suzies' but TLG doesn't have a good aproximation of the flower on LDD.

  4. As far as I can tell, no one has mentioned this yet. When working with panels, the Panel 2 x 6 x 6 Log Wall (Palisade) won't allow anything with studs underneath the lip. It works with Panel 2 x 5 x 6 Wall, but not the other. When I use LDD to plan a build that requires an underside lip connection I'm forced to use Palisade bricks and plates as a substitution.

  7. I spent several hours on this last night. It is made primarally from Hero Factory parts. 8. I actually had no preexisting idea in mind. BTW, the accent color is actually trans-blue.
  9. I took some time last night to update an old LDD file. Here's the results. 10. I know I'm not the first one to say this, but with TLG having both licenses, Amalgam sets should be on the table. Maybe as limited edition sets, possibly convention items. Which Marvel universe are we getting? It appears to be Marvel Adventures. I hope not, because I would like to see Dr. Voodoo, Dark Wolverine, Ronin and Iron Patriot.
  11. The center image on this torso from the Gravity Games is a picture of this from the Insectoids theme.
  12. The trans-blue creature reminds me of the Dredge from Titan A.E. Wonderful find.
  13. I have very little interest in Atlantis as a theme, but some of the pieces are useful in other themes. That being said, I don't use much red in my MOCs because I just don't find it visually appealing (just my taste.) I also don't like the divers' symbol, but that was easy to brasso away from the series 1 diver's leg. I used those pieces for a custom android. I didn't even bother with this set. The pieces from it I would use for an MOC were too few. Also, the new printing on the leg makes it so you can't get rid of the red circle & trident symbol without distroying the rest of the printing.
  14. I can't wait. The new brick design (in nougat?) will be ideal for brick facades, and the round plate with the bars will greatly advance plant building. The bear is in two sets and will find its way into other things. Ranger hats have been tackled by Brickforge, so the TLG version may not interest me.
  15. About the blacksmith set, the weapons being displayed are the current dark grey. Has anyone considered that they are this color because the blacksmith isn't finished.
  16. All this discussion about the difference between Lego's versions of the Black Pearl and the Queen Anne's Revenge. First you should compare the movie version of the Black Pearl to the released screenshots of the Queen Anne's Revenge. The Black Pearl is more like a true pirate ship, meaning it has little in the way of ornamental detailing despite its iconic nature. The Queeen Anne's Revenge on the other hand has a large cabin section and lots of little details. Considering what has been leaked about Lego's Black Pearl set, it can be inferred that there should be little difference in the overall length and width of the ships and that the piece count difference will likely be due to the size of the back cabin and the amount of ornamenting. There is one possibility about the Black Pearl that most have been circling is that Lego could include alternative sets of sails and crewmembers so that a builder could choose their version of the ship. Lego did something similar with the Castle of Morcia in the Knights Kingdom theme, so it is not unprecedented.
  17. I'm surprized that no one has commented on the new bag piece in Cannibal Escape. In the cave is a tan bag that can be neck mounted on a minifig. There is also a bottle barely visible. I'm wondering if it has the East India Trading Company symbol printed on it. That would be great.
  18. I was a bit disappointed that Lego decided to use a dwarf beard for Blackbeard, but then again, that means the piece that represents the burning wicks he keeps in his hair might actually attach between the head and the hat. Something like BrickForge's Gladiator Mask. As to the skeletal Barbossa. It appears that he will be represented by the new NinjaGo skeleton design with possibly some printing to suggest his clothing. Because of this choice, I am a little confused by the images of the Fountain of Youth set showing the classic skeleton with the ball hinge joint. At least I think it was that set. I neet to review the images. I was also wondering if the baldric that several of the pirates wear would merely be represented by the mail bag piece. From what I've seen, though, is that the piece will actually hold a sword. It may just be a modification of the existing design though. Jack should be wearing a black one. Barbossa's did appear brown, though.
  19. I thought there were at least two Black Pearl hulls built between the first three movies. One for actual sailing on location and one built upon a gimble for the Black Pearl/Flying Dutchman battle scene. There may have been more. Someone really should check the bonus features on the special edition versions of the DVDs or BluRay. Remember that the Black Pearl has supposedly been through multiple battles and subsequently been repaired. It is quite possible the Queen Anne's Revenge was built upon the original Black Pearl hull and an updated version of the Black Pearl was built or modified from the gimble version.
  20. Quite good. I was wondering if you could show your process for the the angled 'stone' facades. I would like to attempt a duplication of the effect for one of my LDD models.
  21. At first I thought the globe was a printed tan version of two of these. Now I think the globe is too small to be that, possibly a printed zhamor sphere. I also have noticed that Cannibal Escape has a dark tan palm frond piece. Gotta make sure I can get multiples.
  22. For those who are concerned about price mark-up I would suggest you look at Toy Story for your price comparison rather than Star Wars. This is a Disney license not LucasFilm.
  23. Looking at the pic of the skeletal Barbossa, it appears that he will be given the new skeleton body from the NinjaGo line. The bag like strap he is wearing is a nod to the fact that in the movie Barbossa wears his sword on a baldric. Jack too, for that matter. On the point of what type of swords the characters use in the movies, in the first movie Will delivers an officer's sword with a rapier style blade. It makes its way back to Will at the end of the third movie. Most of the European pirates carry cutlasses with a few exceptions in Barbossa's cursed crew. Most of the Brittish Royal Navy and the East India Company (the symbol the movies use is the Dutch version) carry sabers. In the third movie, Elizabeth gets a Chinese straight sword (I believe it is called a xian). I have to give the third move another view to be certain of the Chinese pirates weapon of choice, but I believe it is the dao. The Mill set proves that we will at least get some of the crew of the Dutchman. The fleshie look of the pieces though leave me doubting their desirability. I do like that we'll be seeing a return of the old Islanders hair piece in the Cannibal Escape.
  24. The term is "privateer" and the license is called a "letter of marque". I can see Barbosa turning privateer, with the right to loot ships that carry flags other than his employers. I don't think he would give them their due share of the haul, though.
  25. What the image makes me think is that we'll be getting the map from At Worlds End. It's quite likely that we'll see Jack's compass. Lego is promising Isla de Muerta, so I hope for the famous Aztec gold pieces.
