  1. Tarn bowed low. "We will bring your son back, Lady Shanxian. You have done the right thing in asking for Heroica's assistance and I assure you, our help will be totally discreet. Can you let us know anything more about these bandits?" OOC: stats are fine, although I was just in the process of selling the Hide to buy some consumables, as I have none at all.
  2. OOC: you're good to go on Quest #42 if Flare agrees.
  3. Tarn heads back to Fabian with a look of distaste on his face. "Mr Fabian, I will accept the offer of 42 gold for the Sand Worm Hide as previously given. Please note it can only be used by Barbarians, Rogues and Rangers."
  4. Tarn smiles at Tesni as she looks for a drink. "So we are to be Questmates once again. It seems like so long ago since we rid the burial chamber of Crozen together, doesn't it?" He begins to sit down, and then realises that he would be better off heading back to the Marketplace to sell the Hide before his Quest started, smiled at Tesni again and left. ---------------------------------------------- Current signups for Quest#52: Tower of Doom Siercon, level 6 Mage (Siercon and Coral) Maurice Ratibor, level 18.5 Paladin (Etzel) Guts Holla, level 21 1/3 Raider (Scubacarrot) Sarge, level 7 Rogue (skyrimguy) Nagure, level 11 Barbarian (Costy) Nerwen Calmcacil, level 14 Cleric (Chromeknight) Stigveladi ("Amma") Kötturin, level 1 Mage (PsyKater) William Harkenshire, level 15 1/2 Warden Dreyrugr, level 6 Rogue (Vash the Stampede) Sorrow, level 15 Assassin (Endgame) Mizuki Kimura, level 12 1/2 Rogue (zakura) There's been a lot of too-ing and fro-ing in the Hall with 2 other Quests being signed up for and being picked so let me know if I have missed you off. I will be revealing the 6 chosen questers tomorrow, however as it stands I have a good idea who I will be taking. Thanks for your interest!
  5. "Then it is settled. Thank you for this unique item." Tarn shakes Benji's hand, drops 50 gold in his palm and takes the Horned Hat. Tarn now has a measily 8 gold, so calls out to the other heroes who are bustling around the hall making preparations to leave on their own quests: "I have a lovely Sand Worm Hide here, a stout item of protection (+2 SP) worn on the body, suitable for any class. That strange Fabian person offered me a mere 42 gold for it at the Marketplace, will somebody be interested in it at 75 gold?
  6. Sandy I love all the work you put in to this RPGS and I felt that your MOCs this time around were even better than usual. They had so much life about them. Great stuff.
  7. Tarn approaches the Elven assassin. "I am interested in the Horned Hat, but I only have 58 gold in my purse at this time. Is that an acceptable offer?"
  8. Liberty Rhian Summerfield a.k.a Liberty is a tough, no nonsense superheroine with the power of flight along with super strength. She doesn't suffer fools gladly and her arrogance is her main weakness. That and chocolate eclairs. It's a good job her metabolism is so high!
  9. Dark times ahead then! Sandy, was this always your intention or has stuff like Wren and the Dastan trilogy of Quests forced you to go a little darker?
  10. I do like the idea of hidden stats. I think a lot of people use those. Tarn's naive rating is very high! Also I would definitely go on a Quest where heroes could die in battle. The ultimate stakes.
  11. Fantastic speech by Nerwen! Very Lady Galadriel I always liked the Guts/Nerwen arguments and interaction in Quest#13 so am glad to see it again.
  12. Thanks Zeph, I really liked how creative your Dastan battles were so will definitely be in touch about some ideas.
  13. Def, this Dark Phoenix cover must've fallen off your post http://www.massivenerd.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/DarkPhoenixCover.jpg I particularly like the way the title of the comic is being destroyed. edit: can't seem to link the actual cover
  14. Thanks to the QMs giving insight into balancing battles and enemies. I know the battles will be by far the weakest part of my Quest. Although fitting for storyline purposes, the battles were seen as being too easy in the two newbie Quests, so I'm sure advanced characters will breeze through, knowing my luck. I do find the battle process, whether as a QM, as a player, or as a reader, the least enjoyable part of this fantastic RPG.
  15. I love that Supergirl, and Star Sapphire! I would like to request Power Girl I think you would capture her really well with the spirit of those two previous drawings.
  16. The "hero carrying the body of another hero" is a particularly iconic image. Similar to Death in the Family:
  17. Just catching up on Etzel's amazing MOCs for his quest, lovely stuff. The temple was huge and ornate but the individual rooms are tiny, yet packed with so much character. It is a nice contrast. Plus this made me chuckle: Along with 50 Shades of Bley, we are getting some puntastic book names
  18. Love the Monkey fighter! Are you taking requests? Make a parrot one, it should be nice and bright
  19. An elegant-looking man in a turban enters the Hall. He frowns as he sees how empty the hall is. When he sees the scant number of signups, he sighes and carefully amends Quest#52: Tower of Doom so that the starting date is put back a week, to Monday 19th November.
  20. I'm gonna have to put my Quest back too. Damn you Sandy, hogging all the players!
  21. Great stuff Masked, I like all of your designs so far.
  22. Tarn sits with Arthur and the short Raider as they discuss Quests and merchandise. "The tailblade is a beauty, it is true, but I fear well out of my price range. I am well equipped with Halbaerend and Lion's Heart, however. I do not really need another weapon. However, those boots do look interesting, especially as not every hero can use them. Are you perhaps interested in this Sand Worm Hide, which will offer you protection? (SP: 2). It has to be worth at least 55 gold. Perhaps we can come to some arrangement." I am not actually offering a swap or anything, I know the value of the two items are wildly disproportionate. But it's good RP and maybe we can sort something out.
  23. Thanks Zeph, I appreciate the kind words about Tarn's roleplay, such as it is I'm waiting for Quest#44 to finish too. I know Guts and hopefully some others will want to go on Quest#52
  24. I prefer Quests of 1 to 2 months, otherwise Real Life can sometimes intrude. That's not to say I didn't love and get a lot out of the Dastan Quests, but they were an Event, and so were necessarily longer. Both my (newbie) Quests were round 4-6 weeks, which keeps things quite punchy. Quest #52 will probably last 2 months, especially if we stop over the holidays.
  25. Cheers guys! The timing wasn't good for me to sign up Tarn for any more Quests until now, as I have been beavering away on Quest#52. Both #50 and #51 look like interesting Quests and as they will run alongside #52 I thought Tarn could come out to play again. Not even tried him as a Bezerker yet.
