Tarn's eyes widened as the barking sounds echoed along the cavern to the assembled party. "Sounds like we either head towards the barking noises or the eerie noises then", he said. OOC: I'm dying to mock Masked's "Here doggy" routine from his last quest but Tarn himself probably never heard about it in the Hall.
-
"I guess we don't necessarily need to head to them straightaway", Tarn conceded. He wanted to see what the others in the party thought before making a final decision at this early juncture.
-
Tarn tried to hide his nervousness by putting on a grim expression and clenching his pole-axe tighter. "We're here to investigate this cave. I say we do not mess around and head to the right where those sounds are coming from. Opinions?"

Dr. Bloodbrick's Asylum II: Fraulein Bloodbrick
Rumble Strike replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
What a bizarre and confusing first day, although I have to say it made compulsive viewing from the outside. Love CallMePie's comeuppance at the end there. Very funny -
No pressure then!

Tarn looked at Ellaria and smiled. "Please, the "Valco" is an honorific, call me Tarn." He considered the options for the torch-bearer and decided that Ellaria's words made the most sense. "You are right, Ellaria. Your strengths are not in direct combat. You should hold the torch for us so that we can protect you." He turned to the old man. "Mr Hinckwell, Ellaria will take the torch."

Wooo, chosen for a Quest! Can't wait
-
Tarn came back into the Hall from the Inn where he had a bed for the night. He wandered over to the Quest Board, to see if any new quests were added. He looked in shock as he read his name on the list for Quest #5, and as Party Leader. Although very excited to be in on the Quest, he knew several of his fellow Adventurers had already been on Quests and thought that they would make better candidates for Party Leader. Nervous, he though back to Rystael, the Valco cleric who was like a father to him. He imagined how pleased the old man would be to see Tarn as Party Leader. The thought made him smile. He saw Tesni eating at a table and sat down next to her. "Tesni! Isn't this exciting!" he beamed. "We actually get to go on a Quest together. I can't wait!" Tarn looked around to see if the rest of the chosen Adventurers for Quest#5 were in the Hall at this time, if so he would get them around this table.

Suburbia - Confirmation/Discussion

Winston Robertson here, hello my darling daughter Amber and everyone else in this lovely town! -
Looking forward to it, Bob

Tarn notices a bit of a kerfuffle at the quest board. He nods to Skrall, and gets up to investigate. Tarn had previously signed up for Quest #4: Taming the Lions because it sounded exciting and dangerous, and also put his name against Quest #5: Cave Sounds which sounded like a hunters mission. Looking at the new quests he signed up for Quest #6: WANTED! Donny Dozenhands because he knew he could make short work of a dishonourable thief with his pole-axe. Although the Quest stated that it was mainly for more experienced Adventurers, Tarn also put his name down for Quest #7: The Arena, because he knew he could handle himself in combat. The Valco monks had trained him well. Signed up for all available Quests, and feeling rather pleased with himself, he settled back in at the bar to talk to his fellow Adventurers.

Thanks for this, buddy, I will have to check that out tomorrow! edit Looks like Tesco are having a reset. Plenty of bare shelves at the moment, but I did pick up the last Quiddich set. A strange choice for my first HP set, but I mainly bought it for minifig parts. A shame there were no £20 Hagrid's Hut left! I've been eyeing that for ages, hoping to get a deal on it. Also in the game section they were stocking the Heroica Fortaan set. Normal price (£19.99) but I'd not seen it there before.

Tarn gazed up and up at the imposing Ogre, who could barely fit on the Hall's chair. "My name is Tarn Valco, the last is an honorific given by the clerics who took me in. Their clan name, if you will. I was taught fighting skills by them and have wielded a pole-axe since I was very young. It has not been named yet, once I have been on a successful Quest it will have earnt a name. That is why I am here. I have come of age and completed my training given by the monks of Valco. I now aim to make my way as a fierce Adventurer and Warrior and to quest alongside good people such as yourself." Tarn raised his tankard in a toast. "To the Quest!"

I love the pics of your son and then you when you where younger. Great stuff! As you say, it's a fantastic advert for the durability and timelessness of Lego. -
Contest: The Underwater Version
Rumble Strike replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Hi Aanchir, It says no digital entries in the rules: -
Aware that following the Barbarian woman around like a puppy would not look too good to his fellow would-be Adventurers, Tarn left the table Tesni was sleeping at and joined the huge Ogre and the others at another table. "Hail Adventurers!" he said with a grin, signalling the Orcish server for a round of beers.
-
I think the difference this time might be the addition of the Heroica RPG, as it's an easy drop in/drop out system of questing.
-
"I'm sure such striking maidens of battle will set many hearts ablaze, your enemies in fear and allies in wonder!" spoke Tarn earnestly, clearly awestruck in the presence of Tesni and Jess. "I very much hope to be selected with you on a Quest!"
-
I am still more than happy to give your mystery game a try. As for the signups, I think perhaps def's Mafia game has taken a bit of the focus from this one (he seems to have included pretty much all the current, regular Mafia players in his game) plus there is the Heroica RPG going on.
-
Tarn smiled at Jess and the others, glad that these Adventurers were chatting. "A successful Quest is always good, I think it would have been nigh impossible for you to save every field." He admired Jess, and her sword. "Oh that is indeed fine craftmanship! You will smite many foes with this blade!" he said.
-
"So, Adventurers, how did your Quest go?" Tarn asks, eager to hear tales of daring.

Finally, after many weeks of travel, after setting out from his village high in the mountains of Titaan, Tarn Valco had made it to the free port of Eubric, and the renowned Heroica Hall. He was weary from his travels and immediately went to the bar for some mead, before looking around at his surroundings. Seeing the Quest Board he eagerly scanned it, and saw that his luck was in, with two quests announced. Tarn signs up for both Quest #4: Taming the Lions and Quest #5: Cave Sounds Having done this, he spots a table full of adventurers who seem to have fulfilled an earlier quest. He pulls up a chair, intrigued. OOC: Sorry for reposting Tarn's origin post, I thought it was worthwhile as it had been such a long time between posts.

Welcome Rufus as the Brick Flicks & Comics Moderator!
Rumble Strike replied to Hinckley's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
I think deep down each one of us is Hinckley's minion! Congratulations Rufus, the reason you get so many of these roles is you are great at what you do! -
That seems to be a good option, Bob. I'm sure some people are worried about spreading their gaming time too thin, including myself.

Baritones 3: The Conclusion
Rumble Strike replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I have been following this game since it was first announced, and even on holiday I was able to check in and see how it was progressing. It's very interesting as a Mafia School newbie to watch a game with 2 scum factions plus all these exotic roles. I agree that the Town probably felt a little hard done by but they did not unify until later on when it was too late. I shared iamded's frustration at Dragonator continually slipping through the net even after hanging WhiteFang out to dry. Great job with the sets and characters and the inventiveness of the Fool Moon Festivals, Hinckley! Overall this was an entertaining game to watch and I can't wait to have the chance to play in another.
