Hm. I don't know what it is! Many other people have already posted what I think makes sense. I personally think that the photo is referencing which theme will continue in 2012.

New Adventurers Set Ideas Thread
Mr. Gray replied to Gregorovich's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Sounds like that would work not only for Adventurers but also for Pirates with all those islanders you're talking about! An idea I'd like to see, maybe an exploration of Oriental Countries, or maybe Middle Eastern areas. -
I can't remember if I've posted this thread before, but I'll add my opinion either way. Whether or not it's the same one that I COULD'VE posted before is debatable. I like both, and I can't pick one or another. Castle has always been there, and I love all of the knights, monsters, etc etc. That being said, I love Pirates for the treasures, the ships, the fortresses etc etc. If only I had enough money to keep buying all of the sets of both themes, but I can't. Tough choice, so I am going to say I'm pretty much neutral on the topic.

Wow! That is a LOT of Space sets. I'm quite envious. And to think, it's not even done yet.

Got another idea. Gender: Female Occupation: Elizabethean Princess Headgear: Tight wig with feather hole Expression: Flirtatious, smiling Color/Print: Green dress Accessory: Neck and hand ruffs, maybe a wine glass? -
General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread

Personally, I don't care at ALL about interior. It's all about how the ship looks on the outside to me. However, for those who do, you could probably take the QAR and add all the parts from the Captain's Cabin set to get a mediocre interior. That, or you could just make your own. I really like that window though, and I'm still eagerly awaiting (just as everyone is, I assume ) for pics of the Black Pearl. -

Awesome! HD pics of the sets, actually built! My mind has stayed with certain sets though, I am definitely getting the QAR and most of the smaller sets, but as for the rest I am unsure. It'll be a fun experience checking those out. -
ISOGAWA Yoshihito's Lego NINJAGO Spin Machine
Mr. Gray replied to DLuders's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Wow. I'm not really that into NinjaGo, but if I was, I'd be more than happy to have that on my side for the game itself. -
Brilliant! I would've never thought of doing anything like this, and you had the wits to do so and pull it off perfectly. Love the arches at the top, really gives the building a different feel than if they weren't included.

Wow, I really never thought about using one of these. But now I have one. This is a really great topic, and I'm glad I saw it.

Gender: Male OR Female Occupation/print on torso: 19th century diver w/ a dark tan diving suit kind of print. Type of headgear: The big heavy, brass or copper diving helmet, the roundish one with windows on multiple sides, w/ a stud on the back for a hose or other part to attach to. Type of facial expression: Triumphant or happy. Color on torso/legs: Dark tan Accessory: Rubber knife maybe a harpoon gun? Kind of like Atlantis, but a few hundred years back. -
I think the massive change in many different colors, including trans, was due to the color deteriorating over time, and these new colors were used to prevent this from happening. I hate reddish brown, but whatever, it's the brown that is used now. I feel your pain, though.

Wow! I hadn't been reading this thread, but after seeing the Toyfair pictures, I'm really interested in this theme! I might have to start saving up even more for my summer LEGO money.

How does the POTC theme fit into your world?
Mr. Gray replied to David Thomsen's topic in LEGO Pirates
I chose the option along the lines of "Remove the flesh parts and use everything else" I might consider only utilizing fleshie minifigs from now on, but I don't know. It really depends on how long the POTC is around. If it is like Star Wars where it's around for 7+ years, then I'll switch. If it's only a 2-3 year thing, then probably not. Yellow figs all the way! -

I don't think so. If anything, the BP is going to much bigger than the QAR. Last year, when the Harry Potter sets were released, they were all in one wave, and then LEGO released Diagon Alley, much bigger and more detailed than any other set. I get he feeling that the Black Pearl is going to be that big and detailed set, and the QAR is going to be the smaller of the two. -

A zamor is the bionicle sphere you referred to in your original post. Zamor spheres were introduced during the Piraka line of Bionicles, IIRC. -

Huh, I've yet to comment in this thread since the pictures appeared last night. Guess it slipped my mind when I was examining them closely. What's with the lady's hat on the QAR? Last time I looked, it looked like a suitable capotain. Also, in the London Escape set, there's a 2x2 tile on the wall with a printed(?) ship painting! As for the lack of fleshie free torsos, I am slightly disappointed, but it looks like I'll get to try out the yellow sharpie trick, or change all my pirates to fleshies to go along with it. Great nonetheless, and I have already begun to save up cash to pay for a POTC set shopping trip. -
Talking Skull - Solutions & share your experiences
Mr. Gray replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
In order to get "Healthy" I mentioned something about Scurvy, then he mentioned fruits to prevent scurvy (oranges), and he said kiwis were better, so I said kiwis, after that the question was something along the lines of "What do the Chinese call them?" after I found that, the Skull asked "What do scientists call them" and I mentioned the genus and species name of the kiwifruit. And thus, I got Healthy. -

I don't think it will be completely bare, since if it was you'd ALSO have to buy the Captain's Cabin with it. Although that would be great marketing, I don't think LEGO would do that. Plausible, yes, but not likely. -
Start? I don't quite understand what you mean, it's not the first Pirates creation I've made, if that's what is being implied. But of course, as is the problem with minifigure anatomy. I did best with what I could. Loosening the string might have worked, but this is all taken apart anyways. Yes, I know about the Armada, alas, I do not have any Imperial Armada sets. It's improvising, and I, for one, don't really mind a little inaccuracy here and there. I like the Redcoat torso, but I do not like the faction very much, but I do like the Armada faction. So, for now or until a new Armada theme comes about, these will have to stay. Thank you for the comment anyways!

Hello fellow pirate fans! Today I present my small, and helmet-less Armada outpost. Backstory first, then pictures. "Hmm, it seems like a young pirate has gotten himself captured by an Armada outpost! you wouldn't know it though, the cargo ship that's carrying their helmets hasn't arrived around here yet. As the young pirate sits by the tower, he looks toward the gallows and realizes his fate is sealed! But no so fast, his pirate crew is sneaking up upon the hatless group of Spanish soldiers in an attempt to save him while Rodrigo drops the box, snapping the neck of some unlucky fellow." Now, onto the picture! As always, there is always more pictures on my flickr. I know, Armada without helments, it doesn't seem right. Luckily I ordered a bunch, so future Armada creations WILL have morion helmets. I was also experimenting with photo-taking, so I apologize for the rather shoddy photos. Enjoy!

I had completely forgotten about the London Escape set. But I didn't find it as interesting as the others, so I guess I just kind of forgot. Anyways, I'm loving the QAR the more I look at it. I actually really like that stern design. I always liked cartoon-y stern designs. Very majestic, and IMO very nice looking. -

Oh man oh man oh man. These sets look amazing! To be honest, at the first prelims, I wasn't too excited with these sets, but now, they look great! Except for Blacbeard's funny sword. And his hair, hoping that's not attached to the hat, because it looks like it could be useful otherwise. The QAR looks fantastic! Can't wait for April/May when these sets hit the shelves!
