  1. The ships I think are best based on aesthetics and construction quality; 12. HMS Gallardia - 1 point. 17. Tornado of Souls - 1 point. 26. Lion of Luebeck - 2 points. 29. Galleon - 1 point. 32. RTS San Legonio - 2 points. All of the ships listed and nominated were fantastic! It was difficult for me to pick out which ships I liked best out of all of them, and even harder for me to pick out how many points went to each ship once I had picked them out! Good luck to all nominees!
  2. I'm not much of a Town/City person, but my very first set was a copy of 6424 for my birthday along with 6467 Power PitStop. Memories. :)
  3. Eh, just about 60 years? Maybe less if you consider Cavaliers to be muskeeters, and it really depends on which Golden Age of piracy, but I'll assume we're talking about the Final wave of Piracy 1700-1721. Still, the rapier was dead, but the short sword, which was a descendant of the rapier, was used very often in the age of pirates. But yeah, these sets look slightly disappointing, but they are preliminary photos, so we'll just have to wait and see.
  4. Looks to me like it's a 1x1 round plate attached to a 1x1 cone piece on top of a large 2x2x2 transparent dome piece. The measurements on the last piece are probably incorrect, I'll look it up later. But I don't know, if it is a combo, could they use that same technique to make the ship in a bottle?
  5. Works fine for me. You might want to check to see if things are good on your end of this problem.
  6. I don't know what you were seeing, I couldn't see anything at all!
  7. I think it's rather unlikely that EVERY single set will have a different Jack, but seeing as what LEGO has done in the past with licensed sets, I think we might be able to see 2 or 3 different versions in this wave alone. Of course this is me just speculating and trying to make sense of it, don't quote me on it.
  8. Just since this movie, I believe. There's some more discussion about his peg leg on the first few pages of this thread.
  9. I may have to try this when i build a larger ship. I don't have any plastic rigging, but I do have a bunch of these!
  10. Hello! After about of a month and a half of having the Rotten Carrot built, I got sick of it and decided it was time for a new ship. And so, I built a much better, albeit smaller, ship. Copying the backstory from my Flickr; "What's this? Captain S. Beldin is sailing on a small, 4 gun cog? What could have happened to the Rotten Carrot? Well, rumor has it that the Rotten Carrot smashed off of some rocks on the voyage away from the attack of Port Premio. Crashing upon a nearby shoreline, Captain S. Beldin got to work right away making a new ship. This new ship, dubbed "The Blind Demise" is named so due to the tragic doom of his former flagship." And so, I present to you my recently built cog, The Blind Demise Enjoy.
  11. I'm not that excited for a carriage set, but the thought of large brimmed hats just makes me really excited for this theme! But I'm thinking, maybe they would just reuse the wide brimmed hat from the Musketeer from series 4? it would give the same effect, I think.
  12. Looks good so far. Even though it's only two pages long, I feel hooked into the storyline already.
  13. Of the ships listed, I really like the way the Caribbean Clipper looks. I don't own one, and I probably never will, but it looks like a nice, sturdy ship.
  14. I don't think the mermaids will be topless with just hair covering them, maybe they'll have seashells over them or something ocean related, like starfish. LEGO could probably take a creative liberty if it were to make things appropriate.
  15. Only 6 days until Christmas day! :D

  16. A nice little MOC, but I don't like the trans-clear 1x1s put under the shore. I think those 1x1s should have been a different, opaque color such as white or maybe even dark tan to simulate wet sand. But a BL order sounds good, and welcome out of those awful dark ages!
  17. Another comment? Of course!

  18. I'm glad I'm not the only one who is a little bit peeved by the historical inaccuracies in the POTC movies.
  19. Congratulations! You really deserve that rank. Even from my rather short career here so far, I can already tell that Blackmoor was a very helpful person, and well suited for this title.
  20. I'm willing they lost the license a while ago. If there wasn't, we wouldn't be hearing about a new theme, we'd be hearing about a massive lawsuit.
  21. Looks like it will be a fun movie. I guess I should really rewatch the other movies, I hardly remember anything from them.
  22. A comment on my own page, why not?

  23. It's been posted before, but it's nice that you posted it on a more recent page rather than having to fish out a set lest on one of the other 40 pages. In regards to the set list, I'm really looking forward to the cannibal related set. Bone cage? Oh joy!
  24. I believe someone said quite a few pages back that pictures would be coming out with the release of the trailer at the premiere of the movie, "Tron: LEGACY", which comes out this Friday. I don't know if this is true nor should you quote me on it (yet), I'll try and find out where this was stated or if I was mistaken.
  25. I'm glad you included "models" in quotations, as thats pretty much what they are, being as their are completely wrong as far as proportions go. Still. never having bought a large Ship set, I'll be saving my money up for the QAR, as well as any other ships that might be sailing into S@H.
