  1. Great building technique you developed Ralph_S Thanks!
  2. Whoa that is really high for on figure What is your main focus in Lego collecting? Minifigs or what theme(s)?
  3. Great review! I always like getting a new magazine (or add w/ new set) back in the 90's and seeing these sets in a layout TLG made
  4. Great MOC! Looks just like the original tower.
  5. Great review DaleDVM I don't own any Lego Castle/ Kingdom/ Knight sets but I do like to look at them. This one looks pretty good but, the one from the mid 90's is still my favorite! Thanks for the in depth look at a neat set.
  6. Neat little 4-wide MOC I hate to use the word "cute", not just because everyone else did but, because I can't think of any other word to describe it Great job!
  7. I'd say the same thing had 'lt' not already said it. As a child, Lego is a toy that requires imagination. Something that many adults lose once the real world hits them. To many of us it still may be a "toy" but, it is our hobby. If not Lego I'd collect more Hot Wheels or Matchbox. It's just that reason, Lego being a toy, that would make someone question: "Is this childish?" Collectable NASCAR replicas are still technically toy are a good example and thousands of adults line their garages, homes, and personal bars with these things, as well as, hands a duplicated to their child. That can be said about anything able to be played with. Like those listed by 'lt'. Lego makes me happy, I like designing, I'm good with my hands, and I've studied city planning and will soon start working towards an engineering degree. Lego city makes sense to me. Hope you end up getting into it, it's a great colorful hobby to have.
  8. Looks great so far! Can't wait to see more progress pics leading to the final design. Is program that you used to do the overhead layout view the BlueBrickDesign or what ever its called, and do you know if it's MAC )S 10.6 compatible? If so, I think I should look into this for my city's final design. Keep up the great work!
  9. EBayed and finally won my first 8403 City House, a 2nd 7285 Police K-9 Unit, and a 7th 3661 Bank for $64 + $10 to ship. Only bought it for the great deal and the house. Didn't think I'd ever find an auction that had a good deal on that house. TLG discontinued it before I could get one
  10. Thanks LEGO Trains 12 Volts. EBay is definitely the cheapest way for me to get newly released city sets. It IS much easier to me, than driving out to Wal-Mart, TRU, or Target and hoping to find a deal or mark down. I can't believe your putting a hiatus on expanding your train collection! Gotta at least get the Maersk. I plan on getting as many of those as I can. Only plan on keeping 2 but, the resale WILL BE ridiculous when those are discontinued. Nice little investment idea, I think. Are you planing on buying city sets to fill in the spaces throughout your layout?
  11. Brickset says 1188 but, I have a couple ziplock sandwich bags packed full of "bald" minifigs. So probably around 1260ish. All city citizens. I need to get them some hair or hats
  12. Great MOC rrigs Great design but, have to agree with Zorbas on the white bricks, definitely yellow. Easy fix though. Great job, anyways!
  13. Another great review LuxorV This set I really like. I'm an avid outdoorsman and bought one of these because I love 90's sets and white water rafting!
  14. Great review LuxorV I was lucky to grab one from eBay, as this was discontinued long before I was able to collect Lego. I like this set but, compared to 6362 Post Office from 1982, this one comes up a little short. It's just too tiny. TLG is well dated on a post office, maybe 2012? Thanks for the review!
  15. My city is the 80's styled open back, just with sets from the 90's. I have to figure a nice way to incorporate these with my modulars. I've seen a few city layouts with that combo and am happy it doesn't look too awkward. Then again unless you do modular style buildings, all of LEGO city sets are still open-backs
  16. Won another 6930 Main Street a few construction minifigs and accessories, and 7744 Police Headquarters.
  17. Great looking vessels! Congrats to the winners and great job to the to the runner-ups!
  18. I think I have a problem... I average $500-600 for sets thru eBay or LS@H a month:wacko: BL is much lower maybe $5-$10. Never used PAB, way to expensive. I don't have time to build many MOCs anymore.. or space. Picked a second job to cover my "get what I want" money. 2009 was car parts, 2010 back in LEGO. This year, looking like more LEGO (new city sets )
  19. This train look s nice. I wonder why a new one so soon though. Only out a year?
  20. Great city TRB! Can't wait to see more pics as you expand
  21. Neat fishing vessel you created there mookage!
  22. A very grand vessel indeed. Spectacular job on the rigging, as well as, the rest of the ship
  23. Definitely the TRU Truck. Got lucky on eBay for those, paid less than TRU's $49.99 price tag. If not there, I saw it on ToysRUs.com That 7993 Station is really neat too but, its scarce on eBay.US. I won one a week or two ago for around $50 + shipping. It had no minifigs or bike. BL built the bike for $4. I looked for it this past week and they didn't have any listings for it.
  24. Great review Neat set. I've tried to get this anytime I see it on eBay. Always ends up too much
