It took a while, but here they are, the jeep and booster to go with lowboy "Trailer Tr4 MkII" and the same trailers adapted to go with LEGO® Technic set 8258 Crane Truck "Trailer Tr4 MkII 8258". Different states, different regulations! Depending on the combinations overall weight, so the total weight of the truck, the trailer and the load, more axles might be required. Adding axles however is not that easy, it's not that you go to your local dealership and ask them to add an extra axle to your truck and trailer. In itself a truck, lowboy and load combination is impressive. Adding the jeep and booster will give this combination even more impressiveness! The total axle of the lowboy with both added is seven...! A jeep or dolly is basically a simple chassis with a couple of axles and a fifth wheel. It is much like the rear end of a semi-truck. The booster is located at the rear end of the lowboy. It has a pivot point to make the axles follow the trailer easily. The purpose of both is to spread load over more axles, this way the weight per axle is suppressed. The jeep I build a couple of years ago had three axles. Even though there are three axle jeeps I reduced it to two axles. First of all it is more common and easier to drive. Further more there is room to install a manually operated landing gear. The booster does have it installed as well. Have fun building and share with us what you think of these and even more: show us some pictures of your build of these... Cheers, Ingmar Spijkhoven

Thanks for sharing these pictures and the link to them. Well I am impressed, I thought I was able to jam in a lot stuff into a small space, but you beat me with it...!!! What I notice is that the axle are able to move up and down, but they would not pendel easy. Luckily there is a lot of free play when building with LEGO... I am curious to see what this next truck and your flat bed will look like. When you are finished, please share them with us!

Wow, what a thorough explanation, thanks!!! Thanks for your interest in my models! After this said I want you to know that I love the idea of people going there own way with my creations! That is a good thing and please keep it up... I can tell you put in a lot of time to build your version of both the truck and trailer. It is also evident you changed a lot, because I know my models through and through I can see the differences... The visual/optical changes you describe I have thought of as well. Not that I would have come up with the same solutions as you did. Since building with LEGO is all about compromising I made peace with both the hight of the truck's frame and the hight of the fifth wheel. Never the less I do appreciate you have tried to overcome those! For me the 8 studs wide chassis was not really an option, I find it to wide. Again, we have to compromise, you gave yourself more space in-between by having it set to 8 studs... My next truck model will also have a 1 stud decreased spacing between the rear axles. With my current suspension system that ain't possible, but I came up with a second tandem axle configuration. More on this with the release of that truck later this year. Great you managed to give this truck a two speed gearbox, that is a nice improvement. Again: you did a great job and thanks for sharing this with us!!!

Really love to see those pictures. About how to post them. First of all you have to store the pictures somewhere on the Internet. For example use BrickSafe, I use it all the time. When it is stored on the web you can easily include images in your posts here on Eurobricks... I even think there is a help topic on this forum somewhere on how to add picture links...

That makes sense, you really want to change the 5th wheel, it increases the playability of Jurgen's KW! Again, keep us in the loop, show some pictures I am sure other do like to see this combo as I do...

Thanks for the kind words to start with and great that you like it! Also is it appreciated that you might want to support me by purchasing the BI... Fair questions, did you check the video of MkI for this build? On YouTube there are 3 vids on this trailer and the Blue one as well explaining it all... Anyways the gooseneck has to be locked to the trailer, it uses a motor. With out this lock the truck drives of with the gooseneck and the trailer stays where it is... The last one is to operate a support that keeps the gooseneck at the right height when it is detached and left on the truck's 5th wheel. About using switches instead of receivers. I suppose it is possible! One thing that pops-up is that you have more wires to "get rid of". Especially in the gooseneck part that might be a little tricky. Never the less I do like to encourage you to try and let us know how it worked out...

That is a marvelous idea!!! Let me/us know how this works, how the two of these models work together... I am so curious and I wish you luck adapting it! What is in short the dilemma with the current 5th wheel of this KW w900?

First: how did you try to contact me? I'm curious because I want to be contacted easily so help me to improve this!!! Second: Yes!!! As with two of my other trucks and quite some trailers now there will be a MkII of this truck. It will be quite different, but equal the same time. Even though I do love this truck myself too, it is outdated, so it'll be improved in many ways! You have to be patient though, I am planning on releasing it somewhere in the first two weeks of April... The truck is sitting on my desk as we "speak" and I am redesigning, engineering and improving it...

 Thanks for the kind words!!! Great that is makes sense now, enjoy the upgrade! BTW at MOCplans a BSX file is added that shows exactly what parts are needed to upgrade from v1 to v2... Now you can see if you have enough parts or not...

-
Well, that is in a short notice, the question is will you get the parts in time? Hopefully today a link will be added with the BSX file that contains the parts needed to upgrade from v1 to v2! Everyone who has purchased the BI for v1 will have access to v2 as well. This because the BI available on MOCplans basically have been replaced. Not these BI contain both v1 and v2 instead of only v1. So those who want to upgrade can do so, those who won't are free to do so as well. So just go to MOCplans as you did with v1 and you will see it for yourself...

Yes it is... but I don't mind answering your question. Yes I have for sure! Within a couple of weeks, check me on YouTube where you find a test run with a full lowboy setup. This will show you both the jeep and the booster of which instructions will be available. These will be in a single set...

Yeah, I thought that would be helpful, but did not yet got the change to make it. I will have it finished early this week! So you can easily check what parts are needed... The chassis is for 99% the same, compare page 34 (v2.0) with page 138 (v1.0) to find out one change that make you take the chassis apart. This is not hard to do, I am sure you'll manage within an hour. Page 30 and 31 (v2.0) showing another major change because of the new bumper. Also is the bumper changed, and that is about it. Other changes are mainly body work matters... Hopefully you manage to change it before this years' show!!! That would be nice...it is so much better!!!

Love it man!!! I really love it!!! This is amazing... You know you did a great job on the cabin. I already reckon it to be a Freightliner then I noticed the steps coming out opening the doors and I knew for sure!!! What impresses me as well is the amount of angles you use in this build, always not that easy with LEGO!!! Great...

Thanks for the kind words! Great that I am inspiring you to build as well. Did not know you built the concrete truck, but I'll look it up right away! Great that you are going to buy my instructions, this way you support me to release more instructions, so another thank you!!!

With the release of US Truck T1 MkII the earlier released US Truck T2 MkII was outdated immediately! This while it was only released a couple of months ago. So here is an upgraded version of this truck: Truck T2 MkII v2.0... Look up the differences I am sure you'll find them easily. Check the pictures and find out. Maybe you start wondering why an another update of the same model, well because I can... :-) At the same time those who purchased the instructions for "v1.0" will benefit as well. You can stick to the previous version if you want to, or if you don't want to or can't invest in required extra parts. Do you want it upgraded, please go ahead and have some more fun rebuilding this model! Cheers, Ingmar Spijkhoven

I looked the width up in BrickSmith, it tells me that it is 20 studs. The front end that hooks up with and rests on the fifth wheel varies from 63 to 86mm.
-
Well, I am happy you managed to combine these, maybe it inspires others to do the same... And those tires are amazing!!!

Well, this is an impressive combo! Great to see multiple designer MOCs combined this way together with an original Technic set, love it... Nice tires on the front loader, look really impressive  Does the gooseneck part work well with this truck? I mean when it comes to operating it, did you need to adjust things? Did you install the fifth wheel design I came up with?
