Not really a road train, but still very nice too!!!

It surely is impressive, nicely done!!!

This one is nice too! You really can see the Toyota looks in the cabin, nicely done!!! Maybe a little bit more Land Cruiser, but that never minds...

Well it really is getting somewhere, that is for sure!!! By the way, you need a longer bookshelf where it can sit on, the rear axle "falls" off... It will be very nice to have this combination in your house somewhere. Maybe even in the living, if the rest of the family agrees with it... Why did you change to 2 x 4 tiles a couple of time? This asks for the extra 2 x 6 LBG plates. By leaving the 2 x 4 tiles you can skip these plates. Just a thought...

O, I see, you have to stay in why not build yourself more models! You are so right about it!!! Those two other builders you mention are just amazing, nice to have these worlds combined... It is so great to see builders go there own way with these models. This really is an honor, I design and develop the initial build and this Lundgren takes it to another level. Really amazing!!!

 Looks amazing!!! So many ideas? Well, I know all about it It really never ends, a life time is way to short Uhm... so many ideas, and also that much time... Where do get all this time to spend on building with LEGO??? Other just wait for parts, you build yourself a Rotator Wrecker...

Nice touche to have the striping of the truck back in the color scheme of the trailer, you did a nice job on that one!!! Do you intend to have the roof "stud less"? If so I would try to leave the plates under it and go for large tiles to go from left to right. This way you can save a lot of weight... well at least I hope so Good luck with getting the axles closer...

Well, not bad, not to bad at all!!! If you manage to keep it easily under 2kg there is much hope for this trailer! Very nice that you gave it a try, that is a good thing!!! One thing you might want to consider is to get both axles closer to one another. This way even more friction can be avoided, but again: it is up to you of course... I just noticed it checking your video the second time. The roof is growing, nice!!!

In a rerelease/redesign of this refer I build about 4 years ago I want to use those panels you mentioned too. The trailer I build back then used these: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=48288 Also light weighted, but adding the supportive structure made the entire build about 2,5kg and that is to heavy. It works and you can drive it around, but for me there was no fun to it at all... The panels you use don't need any supportive structure so you win a lot on the solution I used, that is for sure!!! Keep us informed, hope you manage to keep it under 2kg and even under 1,5kg maybe, who knows...

Well, that actually might work, especially when it comes to reducing the weight. For me the thing is I don't like the looks of those panels, sorry That means not in a Model Team alike concept as these trucks are. For the Wing Body Truck of Madoca there obviously couldn't be any better solution though, that is for sure!!!

That is nice indeed and yes you need more... much more... red panels for sure As you might know I build such a trailer myself a couple of years ago. Because of the weight I won't build it myself again. Unless there is an extremely smart solution to keep the weight down Helium might do the job   Never the less, I wish you lots of fun building this refer, it looks amazing, that is for sure!!!

Well you did have some luck on that one! Did you use Rebrickable.com to get the parts list and to advice you where to buy the parts? -

Nice!!! Do you get all parts in one store? I can't -
Well, thanks!!! Looking at it again in this picture after I took apart about 3/4 of a year ago makes almost drool as well... Yes it does as you describe and therefore it needs to be redirected. The string starts at the sleeper, where the mechanism is, but pulls in the wrong direction. So it is redirected with two of these (not particular in this color ):

The simplest way is by hand. That is how I started this design and I still use it mostly that way. That is why is has those two http://www.bricklink...tem.asp?P=33299 which can be used as lever: It is possible to make it remotely controlled as I did for this build: It basically is operated by a string that pulls the levers so it releases the trailer's kingpin. The string goes all the up to the sleeper which hides the M-motor to operate it... BTW, this concept does not suite for steered axle trailers unless it uses this type of steering: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/2LegoOrNot2Lego/MOCTrailer9/pict00.jpg The axle does not steer, but this is more like a trailer with a trailer under it clever concept by this Australian company and I copied it useful!

I came up with this device. Small amount of part, small and extremely sufficient, well at least IMHO it is... The instructions and below how to attach it: The rubber belt needs to go over the black axle connector and the 3 stud long axle needs to be replaced by the fifth wheel/coupler. The rubber belt makes it come back, because this fifth wheel pivots as is needed going over for example a bridge with the truck and trailer combi...

@ Lundgren: I was wondering, did you ever got the chance to promote these models of mine at that Swedish forum you wrote about once?

You are right to do it the way you want. I decided to go with every common Technic Pin color so everybody has easy access. Building a custom version as you do, yes please go more expensive, why wouldn't you? A more model team looking fifth wheel that actually works, well good luck with that For me it was not that important, it has both technic and studded parts and the functionality is important to me. Well, if you manage, let us know I guess so, let us hope indeed

Great! And you are most welcome! Nice that you have the truck finished already. Do you have all parts for the trailer already or are you waiting for some to be delivered? Have fun building the trailer, I am sure you will have fun. Yes please share yours with us, I am sure we all do love to see some pictures. You can just post them here in this topic or in the topic on the truck, that is up to you!

Yes you can, but you have to use the correct one, let me explain!!! This is the Battery Box you can use (it needs 6x AAA batteries, but is much cheaper): http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=87513c01 This one can not be used at all in this design!: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=59510c01 The other trailer I designed can use this Battery Box! The digital software I use does not supply the normal Battery Box that has the same looks and dimension as the Rechargeable Battery... I will change this in the inventory list anyways! Thanks for asking and giving me this idea!

Well, you might be right, but that is not that easy Thanks for you input and comment! Lundgren, if you want to do as efferman suggested you have to lengthen the drive axle that powers the most rear axle. If you don't do so, the fifth wheel and the drive axle will conflict!

Black, black and black it is, I like it very much!!! I really hope others like it as well, there is not much comments added to this thread... Your and ritztoys alternate builds are just amazing, yes they are!!! The shovel is a nice touch and I really love the idea of replacing all Black at the rear end of this truck. Even the rubber belts are replaced by Black ones. Thanks for the comparison pictures too, this really gives an idea of how big that tow truck is!!!
