  1. Nice build, nice concept, love the 4 wheel steering and the colors! Do you have any idea why it struggles on slopes? To me it seems like this Ranger should be capable of much more...
  2. Very nice concept and really would love to see some video footage... Much guitars too BTW
  3. Personally I do not really like the counter weight/rear section of the "rotator". Off course it is yours so don't bother what I think...
  4. Great that you are building yourself a lowboy trailer, especially because you use my lowboy as inspiration... To go with the Merc it is indeed obvious to make with less studs. I do agree with M_longer, the picture he shows is indeed more accurate. And also could you use the 62.4 wheels as I did... The way you are building the deck seems most obvious, but won't be rigid enough though. Do you have any ideas what will be the load to go with this lowboy? Any ideas on how to make it more sturdy...
  5. Thanks, great to have such a list with all possible options Looking at it starts me wonder whether I should build one actually. In my previous message I wrote for me it lacks challenges, but now that is changed... What is not changed is the weight of such combination though...so I'll see what I'll do... Again thanks for your input!!! This mean you didn't order the actual colors I assume... Okay, to your question. What parts list are you using? The BrickStock version or the "image" version? For you I hope that you use the BrickStock version... About changing the colors, that is a little more complex I'm afraid. For example the orange striping is mainly build with 1 x 1 plates. If I would give it another color I really would look into the parts use again. You already have an idea of how it will look like in the TNL colors? From there you should basically start rebuilding the cabin IMHO. Probably this also saves you quite some money in stead of a combination of 1 x 1 and 1 x 2 plates you could use 1 x 6 or 1 x 8...
  6. Thanks so much especially from someone (you and also your Dad off course ) who lives in Australia. If you recognize it an Aussie I probably did my job well... I realize it is not "extreme", it is kept low on accessories though... Could you please clarify how a "ridged truck truck and dog config" would look like probably? Having no clue living so far from where you live... It sounds interesting that is for sure! Yes I have considered building such a road train for sure. Basically two things are drawing me back though: A) building a single trailer is fun, but building three trailers that are quite equal in design for me is not really appealing B) if I would build one the total combination probably would be to heavy to be driving around with The later is important to me as you might know. Equipping a model with PF is major to me...
  7. Mist this line the first time... so here we go... no just kidding, but seriously: Building chassis for trucks both on- and off-road I have quite some experience with. I really love the "quick" build of this, if I may call it that... The way the axles are build and suspended seems a little weak. Not sure what your intensions are for this build off course, but how do you look at what I write yourself? Nice gear ratio in the axles by the way!!!
  8. Took a closer look and like to tell you that this really is going to be a very nice build! Colors are nice indeed, the use of parts is as always amazingly well done and love the concept of it. The concept of having a truck with a crane instead of "just" a crane. This truck you could optionally use for other applications as well... Also like the use of those "cut-off" panels, it really gives shape to the superstructure fast, easily and light in weight!
  9. Good luck then!!! Yeah well that is a good start though. Having pictures and drawings is what is essentially all start with... Yep!
  10. Great that you build it... Did you love the build of this trailer? Which truck did you build to go with it? About your question, no I don't. Nice that you are showing it and that you want to tell people about it... What is it precisely what you would like to know about it?
  11. Clever how to managed to put all functions in it too...
  12. That is correct, it is exactly as Kiwi_Builder describes! Actually it is sticking out just a little over half a stud. The parts of the fifth wheel that keep it in place are only half a stud in thickness... Does that make sense Henkl?
  13. I really really like this build of yours!!! Great concept, nice colors and full of functions...well done buddy!
  14. Excellent so far and you are pretty fast buddy...! I have to agree!!!
  15. It is nice in both scales!!! Well done buddy!!!
  16. Did not see this one before, but I have to say well done!!!! Also clever use of parts, like it!!!
  17. Agree with that at all!!! Very impressive build so far!
  18. I was so bussy reading and writing with kiwi_builder that I entirely missed your input...sorry... As far as I can tell those configurations as shown in the picture you shared are common here in the Netherlands as well. You are right about it! Probably is Type 1 most used... That is exactly what I mean with the extended fifth wheel chassis. Someday I will build such thing, it is just amazing how these things work... Thanks! Yep, maybe... Those curves would be challenging...! You never know what happens next...
