  1. if it is SW the cool thing would be I guess that you can put any figure with compact hairstyles. Still I don't see the sense of the mold -> master Yoda already you could not put because of legs and ears. I think a light blue figure, different blue for the hairpiece and transparent legs would be all you need. They don't need to play around ugly transparent arms or torsos anyway. Legs are enough! Better if they'd have used this mold budget for new Mando helmets, jetpacks and darksaber
  2. I'd laugh so hard if they just reuse Captain America's face again (used for Pedro Pascal in the WWII movie already). Seriously though, as the head appeared nougat, I hope it is a new print.
  3. Ninjago can go so crazy so I never allow myself to speculate. I think dragon hunters and Nya turning into the water dragon long term were like the only times I saw folks guessing things right. Yeah certain plot twists were always guessed, based on details like "Zane is the Ice Emperor". Every other time though the writing was weirder than theories people made up ...Like did anyone guess the complicated backstory of S12?
  4. Don't we have like 2 new molds for Raptors and 4 new molds for the new flying dinosaur already? Meaning 6 new molds in total and an insane amount of recoloured molds. If there is 2 new species still to come - I wonder where all that mold budget is coming from?
  5. They did the parts pack in gun metal grey though. To me a black Katana is still the best looking Darksaber. Easy to come by as well. But yeah if the retraction feature is the killer they'd have their darksaber piece already with the parts pack ;) They could just recolour it in trans black or something as well..
  6. you mean the new skin colour used for Harry Potter sets? As soon as I saw they did a different colour, my first thought was that it would fit her skin tone much better. for some reason they hold off on using new molds for a while. Like the mentioned staff piece could have been used so many times already - for Darth Mauls lightsaber hilt.
  7. wow Promobricks really says 50 bucks for this. I mean it's a fair price but from a Marvel set I'd expect 3 figures without any leg printing, reused faces and a useless build. But damn that boat is really cool. Even as a parts pack that thing would be cool, so many dark tan pieces. Also do I count correct: 2 new molds? Goats look weird but what else could you do at this scale..?
  8. are we sure this is just 50€? Because there's 5 figures - 4 of em with more detail of a whole Marvel wave and almost 600 parts.. I don't care about Marvel but like the Shang-chi dragon this is just a too great boat build to not get...
  9. I never convinced myself yet to order 3rd party costume parts.. Looks pretty neat but so far I just cut pieces from old textiles. It never becomes what I wanted but still looks pretty awesome ^^ I was making some fabric capes + wast capse out of an old shirt and as it was completely messed up I didn't use it on my costume Tusken but created a Sith with the Shaak-Ti key chain and a nindroid body. Looks pretty sick ^^ What I'm getting at: I'm sure suck fur-capes can be done by most of us (:
  10. back in '82 George "dollar-eyes" Lucas was changing weird reptiles into Ewoks cause of toys. The Millenium Falcon in EPIV was just a junk ship. Han boasting about it was only meant to show him as a lying scoundrel. It was a junk ship with some tricks, nothing more. After it's popularity in EPV it was suddenly a really special ship and center of everyones attention. And every Baby Yoda scene is insanely defined by: "let's have a kid or this funny women/droid share a cute scene with him that doesn't have anything to do with the plot or any character ark". I don't try to be cynical here- this is what Star Wars has always been: a toy commercial. At certain times it was very high quality at certain times - in my personal opinion - not so much. Even I admit that certain scenes with Baby Yoda manage to be a toy commercial but at the same time be absolutely about the plot and doesn't take you out of the universe. But often it's just brainless advertisement because Disney doesn't just run on views. It is a toy empire. ...but if you ever were in show business /or probably many other types of business) you will be aware of the situation, when higher ups and marketing people approach you and kindly or not so kindly ask you to put this and that scene in the show. Many times there are reshoots because higher ups think this will sell. Product placement and many other words come to mind. It's not like art in such a company is strictly seperated from profits..
  11. Some sequel X-Wings and similar sets I think went through as - more or less pimped - OT sets. But with the palace set, I'm just not sure about the resemblance.. The interior certainly is much nicer but so many key features and details are missing. On top of that you get a downgraded Fennec and no Update for Boba. At the end of the day is is a bunch of tanish bricks mixed with some colourful figures.
  12. yeah many decisions I get - even if figures would be simpler. But they do seem to have budget for new face and leg prints - why not use it for a better main cast? And I don't see any reason why TLG seems to overly reuse old hairpieces instead of reusing much better new ones. There must be some rules restricting designers because if you were one of them of course, you'd like to make your set more accurate and unique?! Anyway: that new spring-olive-green T-Rex looks super interesting. I don't even know if I like or not but it's really interesting Overall lot's of new molds! How many you folks counting?
  13. bruh - I have read the Tolkien stuff like many others - but still this crowd wouldn't finance them expensive movies. The majority of consumers was never aware of any of Tolkiens writings. If you know LotR you know how different the movies were and how characterless, arkless and stoic most of the protagonists of the books were (the books were still masterpieces in other regards of course). I remember some people complaining about Tom Bombardil missing back in the days - my god what a pointless character that was in the book even. But no idea about the other things you mentioned. I just feel like let's see what they do, maybe it's not that bad, maybe it's even good. Probably not but one can give a chance instead of trashing for whatever reason (not talking about the civilized discourse here but the trolling campagne online).
  14. if they really use a Minidoll... that would be a genius move. The proportions of the legs/dress part and arms are just perfect. A normal minifigure - no matter what new head/neck piece they'd use would always look weird.
  15. Doesn't make it better yes but every other blockbuster trailer is the same and yet I don't see a similar amount of negative reaction. Maybe this low quality is already established with other movies. Maybe the Hobbit was pissing people off somehow?
  16. I want to say that probably almost no one cares but they did want to release Nabulon B as a UCS set and probably at the same price as the Gunship so I stand corrected.. ... I still think they should have just done the Gunship as a 200ish minifig scale set.. UCS sets don't have to be oversized per se..
  17. oh but this is the case for every new blockbuster movie. Except for maybe some western there just isn't the will or budget anymore to go by plane to the moroccoan desert. One can only hope that the directors and writers take their time, dont get any interference by higher ups about 500 changes for the trailer (like with the Hobbit..) and actors act like they are on a real set instead of a green screen.
  18. I mean why do folks around here think the sets are mainly done for people who get every set every year? Maybe they are more produced for kids who buy 1-3 sets. Same thing with Marvel mechs - if TLG does a super childish design and rereleases it with a few minor changes every year, why assume it is for us? UCS and diorama sets are clearly made for older consumers, these sets aren't. Worst case one could get single-dinosaur action figures anyway, which are cheaper, more poseable and more accurate.
  19. hobbits look much better with the small legs. I try to give mid sized legs to some dwarfs which makes a good distinction. And curious question: why all the hate for the trailer? I rarely like any new "big" movies post '2010 so I'm always sceptical but how does the trailer give you negative vibes? It looks pretty much in style of LotR movies.
  20. One can never have enough T-Rexes yeah all of those hairpiece choices in the Quetzal set are horrible. Sometimes I feel like Lego wants to ger rid of old pieces I gotta say the plane and "bird" itself are looking pretty cool. Maybe the first set of Jurassic whatever I buy. Even the colour scheme of the plane looks quite interesting.
  21. wow that trunk set is a game changer. - new/relaunched skin tone. Finally, the 3 diverse skin tones used in the last years were not enough I think. Just a shame - many figures who used the medium nougat colour in the last years instead of light brown would have looked best with that "new colour". - inverted 4x6 plate: for so long I have used an insane amount of 2x2 inverted tiles to have smooth undersides of creatures and vehicles. This part could mean that Lego will go more in direction of smoother builds instead of exposed studs. - all this figure parts. This set must be one of the best deals I've ever seen.
  22. prelims became somewhat rare. Occasionally some figs are leaking though. Hopefully we'll see the new Harumi soon ;)
  23. Maybe this is a wrong perception but I feel link TLG prices certain sets like recent battle packs, CW or Mando sets even higher than usual simply because folks buy them anyway. If the droid is cool enough for you than that extra tax is fine I guess but I feel like a smoother build (or something like more silver parts) or new Mando pieces (jetpack, darksaber, helmet, face) would have been welcome. A positive note: like last years Slave I, we seem to get sets at an appropriate date and not 1,5 years later (though Bobas palace would have been a perfect January release..).
  24. I don't know anything about this and won't buy it but it looks really good and is way cheaper than I could imagine of any other theme. I also think it's quite practical as it mostly takes away horizontal space which would make it easier to store or put on display.
  25. no lecture, just your interesting opinion Could you show pictures of your Crest? I would have preferred it in dark grey but as many parts were colour fixed I remodified it 99,99% into light grey with only a few dark grey and black texture. I think dark grey also mixes much better with gun metal grey parts while light grey and the few light silver pieces we've got looks a bit cheap together.
