  1. Just2good's video mentions an Overlord Dragon set, which would be amazing (and long overdue, imo)! And looking forward to seeing those catamarans! savage!
  2. Really curious about the Tournament of Elements one, too! A Gamer's Market type of set would be the ultimate outcome, with multiple elemental masters and maybe some cool cultists! Going with the 9-figure formula, here's my prediction/wish: Chen (with his beloved chair, haha) Kapau Kai Lloyd Nya Skylor Gravis Bolobo Camille As far as the anniversary sets are concerned, I hope they do their best to give the minifig designs some extra flair, befitting the celebration! Maybe some elaborate kimono-style designs with extra golden accents? Please?
  3. You really have a talent for hilarious comments! I'm expecting Avatar to pass at least. The show is legendary, has a very broad and active fanbase, and with almost 20 active Ideas projects it is evident that it is also popular among LEGO fans. Naruto is also a behemoth of a show, but I'm not sure about the overlap between its community and the LEGO community. That said, I would be very excited to see it pass, since it would be the first anime LEGO set! Seeing Barracuda Bay for classic pirates and the Medieval Blacksmith for classic castle, Brickwest Studios would be within the line of expectation to give us classic western (minus the controversies!). I know many fans are yearning for it! Also, I think Starry Night is more likely than ever, with the 18+ and art lines.
  4. ^^ @ShaydDeGrai that's a very interesting perspective, thanks for sharing!
  5. LEGO has always been for a large part about vehicles. Parents love to give their kid, or that of someone else, a vehicle because anything that can be rolled or flown around can be played with. I do think that since I was young (Adventurers era) there has been a shift towards more vehicles and less buildings. Maybe in a present where LEGO faces a lot of competition from video games, with their dynamic and immersive open-world play environments, a LEGO building appears even more static than it used to. Not to mention, for the money of a typical medium to larger sized LEGO building, you can buy almost any game with a world map so huge that you wouldn't be able to recreate it in minifig scale even with a 10,000 dollar/euro budget! Kind of a discouraging thought, really. That said.. I am the grown up boy that still dreams of building a huuuge city (medieval or otherwise), the kid that always wanted to build buildings and landscapes but had to make due with the vehicles that he was given. TL;DR yes, more buildings please!
  6. It's a thing of beauty, I think that's hard to deny for anyone! The price is not for my wallet, and I will leave the judging of the functionality to others. The 18+ box art though.... I get why... but I dislike it, at least the lower part with the bricks. I hope they phase out that styling rather sooner than later, even if that's a minor thing compared to the contents of the set.
  7. Breaking news: the hat with ears used for Christmas elves appears with fleshie ears in the new Friends Advent calendar!! Seen in this pic (SPOILER for advent calendar enthousiasts!): Also, the Harry Potter calendar includes a trans (glitter?) clear flame piece, the old school one: So that's one more flame piece recoloured this year! Btw, those Monkie Kid villains look really good, love the orange and blue ogres!!
  8. I thought that would be the case, and if I recall correctly that particular creation was part of your epic army of entries for the CCC; writing GoH backstories for all of that is no small task! I forgot to look at the tags for cases of doubt, good tip!
  9. Nice one!! I wanted to try that combo for myself, too! They are from Hidden Side Teevee
  10. Just wanted to let you all know that I've been doing some cleaning in the GoH Flickr group since becoming a mod a few weeks ago. I have removed a (few?) hundred photos unrelated to our beloved role build game, so up to page 12 should now be a full GoH browsing experience! In cases of doubt I have not removed the picture from the group. As a general advice, adding 'GoH' or a geographical name from GoH to the title of your photo sure helps, as well as the GoH emblem for on the photo itself. Example of a typical case of doubt: CCC XVI: Forestmen Hideout by Isaac Snyder, on Flickr Generic name, no mention of anything GoH, no emblem... @soccerkid6 We're all friends here, no worries! @ZCerberus could you maybe add the GoH emblem as the image for the group?
  11. First of all, I Iike the idea of a sea hangout! I spot a lot of interesting parts use, too. Those 'power splat' pieces for seaweed are cool (even if the colour is a bit off), I like the use of printed parts to create the huge race arcade machine, and those printed lattice windows seem too be made for this kind of maritime cottage, especially with the VW curtains behind them! On the whole, the cottage looks great, with a nicely shaped roof! The boardwalk feels a bit messy to me, though. Most importantly, I think the groove with plants is out of place: I don't see why there would be need to be a groove there, and even so, why the owner of the place wouldn't remove those plants. Having the plants for decoration in baskets looks more tidy for sure. My second (and final) point of criticism: imho, the dark red is just a bit too much for the colour scheme to handle, I probably would have chosen a (dark) colour that already appears in your build somewhere, like reddish brown, black or dark green. Overall, though, this is a great build!
  12. Now that's a beautiful arrangement! Also took me a moment to figure out what the heck that pink piece is, but it's the head of the Ninjago video game wave baddies. Also, forgot to mention: my order from a few weeks back was missing a torso, they sent me that one plus the employee mailed me she had added "a surprise" to the order. It turned out to be a Ninjago Nya keychain! I'm not big on keychains, but I am big on Ninjago! I'm wondering if they can see that through my previous orders, or if it was just a safe decision?
  13. Cool, good chance that it will show up in BAM soon, then.
  14. Perhaps they still don't like sets that are tied to a real-world region? Europe has global appeal, judging by the masses of tourists from Asia and America that come here every year, so that shouldn't be the problem. A bit disappointed too, though the sailboat is also cool, especially if they include moulded animals. That would also help set it apart from boats in the Creator line. That's very much possible. @Presidentpie3 @CharlieBoy17 There are rules regarding self-promotion, just saying...
  15. By my knowledge it hasn't been made in that colour yet..
  16. Thank you, AmperZand! Glad you like the names too, I put some effort into them, too. Thanks for the tip, I have embedded a larger picture in the post now, hope it looks better?
  17. New figbarf! Hope you like it! Divine beings fantasy figbarf Ghürkhan the Terrible || Oroboshi, Commander of the Sea || Seed of Yggdrasil || Pyroclaides, Earth's Fury || Béorthan the Preeminent || Ugansuru of the Eclipse Bios on Flickr: https://flic.kr/p/2jhE3sg
  18. Most of the theme was way more sci-fi than I initially anticipated, so now I won't hype until I see anything. The mummy man in the Halloween Hayride set (revealed earlier this week) is quite nice, though finding a tan mummy-like head may be difficult. Also, not yet mentioned in my list above: the printed hieroglyphs from the new Haunted House. Egypt is back, baby!
  19. Sorry, late reply! Thanks, man! Yes, I wanted to get sort of a grasping, feathery hand look, and the hairpieces had the right angle and texture. Yes, definitely sturdy! Only thing is that it wobbles a bit on the trans clear poles; if there would be a minor earthquake (hypothetically, in NL ), this would probably the first thing in my house that starts moving. Feel free to yse it as a GoH deity, you have my full permission!
  20. @kahir88 @Grover I think that's because crosses are also a mark of the deceased, or a mark in general. Crosses are so abstract that they are kind of inevitable. (I recently came up with a cool cross design that I want to put in a GoH build sometime, you're warned, lol ) Also, I enjoy building deities from time to time, but never post them in GoH because in my interpretation they conflict with the "too overpowered" guideline (IMO the whole purpose of a god is being ridiculously overpowered). However, now I we have come to discuss this I will not pass up the opportunity to plug my latest deity in here!
  21. I feel this. This was legit the first time the trans clear '45 degree bar on stud' pieces (from the DC Superheroes CMF) were in stock for me. Cheers! And you have some great shiny gold, and also looking for the tube pieces! Thank you! I've been arranging compositions with B&P orders for some time now, always enjoy it. Also helps me to check back and count how much I got of what, which is useful when building MOCs and wanting to know how many of the part you own (if you don't own any through sets).
  22. That's a nice idea! Or more sets similar to Gamers Market. I think I stopped watching the show after Skybound, so I suppose that makes me less biased for everything that came after. Beyond the "hardcore fanbase" that was previously mentioned, I think these are the characters that would have broader appeal: Pixal from Rebooted (second-to-main love interest character, popularised through fanarts) Casual Harumi (idem ditto) Emperor and Empress (I don't even know what these look like, but royals will always attract broader interest) Garmadon/Overlord transitional form (from a pivotal moment in of the series, and he looks epic :P) Elemental Masters and former masters (niche admittedly, but the designs are great. Probably only works if they get some fresh exposure in the show) Young Garmadon from Pilot "Battle between Brothers" (main villain) Metal Karlof (monochrome, metal-toned figures I should have a wider appeal too, I think) I like Dareth and the Postman too, but I don't think they speak to the general fanbase.
