  1. I was referring to those who own a specific two sets, not you. Your review was fantastic, and it helped me immensely in recreating the set in LDD.
  2. Something you have to remember is that there is a large majority of people out there who aren't even aware the sets exist. Sure, people who follow leaks such as everyone in this thread know what the sets look like, but that doesn't change the fact that it's important to have official marketing being done, in order to inform LEGO's target market: Kids and families. I've been an advocate of that for a very long time. Plus, even as someone who has seen every single possible leak from day one, I'm interested in seeing these reviews. As I've noted before, the people who currently own these sets early haven't given us an in-depth look, really. Point I'm trying to make is that even though you don't care about the reviews, others do.
  3. Off topic, but I totally agree. I've noticed that TheBrickShow seems to be trying to emulate the style of Jang's videos, because they're so professional looking. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, I suppose. I'll always prefer Jang's reviews, because he's able to be very raw, honest, and blunt with his opinions, regardless of if they're positive or negative. Back on topic now: I don't know when we'll see the reviews from Geekster, but I can only surmise that the answer is "soon." It'd essentially be pointless to do a "World Exclusive" review if the sets have already been released, so sometime with in the next 10 days. They're really against the clock here, seeing as more and more people are obtaining the sets via retailers who have no regard for strict street dates.
  4. I hope so! I absolutely love JANGBRiCKS' reviews. Although, it should be noted that he does not recieve sets from TLG, whereas TheBrickShow does.
  5. I'm well aware of that, but that's not really relevant at the moment. I mean, we already have seen the 'official' images of the sets, but they weren't released directly by TLG. The reason the "World Exclusive" review is significant is because it very well may be the first media officially endorsed by TLG. Bye-Bye embargo. (Possibly.) Even if it's not official, it'll still be our first in-depth look at the specific two sets. The handful of people who own them have yet to deliver a proper look at them. For example, there's one user on Reddit that owns 3 sets, but he doesn't even seem like he knows how to upload images into a comprehensive review or anything like that.
  6. Just found something interesting: @geekster_blog said on Twitter that they'd be doing a review of two Force Awakens sets. They said they recieved the sets directly from The LEGO Group to review as a world exclusive. There's several images on their Twitter account to prove that they're probably not lying... Are we about to see the first official acknowledgement of these sets?
  7. Where are you getting this from? I've checked every single one of my sources and have found nothing.
  8. Glad someone agrees with me. Like I said before, I'll heavily modify the set if it comes down to that, but as it stands right now, I believe that there's a solid possibility that the wings do fold out. I wonder if we'll know before September 4th, as the sets are being spotted on the shelves and available for sale due to retailers making massive mistakes. As rollermonkey said, some companies really couldn't care less for whatever reason. I'd pencil it down to employees not paying attention. My local Target has NO IDEA that a midnight launch is happening, so that's a little concerning... Also, the review is fantastic. That Dejarik table alone is honestly enough reason for me to purchase the set; the piece is absolutely gorgeous. Not to mention the fact that nearly everything else is improved from the previous iteration, whether it be a simple color swap or a different build entirely. Looks worth it to me, and in light of the review, the set has definitely moved up in my list of priorities. Still don't want anything as much as the Lead Villain Vehicle, but that's neither here nor there.
  9. Officially, we haven't actually gotten a trailer yet, just two teasers, the BTS reel from SDCC, and the Korean TV Spot. It was confirmed by J.J. Abrams that we would get the first trailer "in the fall." Guessing we still have to wait a bit.
  10. Trust me, I've seen every photo of the ship, including the very first one. I've been following the leaks since day 1, and I have all of the original source images safely on my hard drive. If anything, the back of the box only backs up my theory. If you look closely, you'll see a third set of arrows, possibly indicating that there's another stage to the wing functions. Also, if you look at the connection points, you'll notice that they consist of a few black 1 x 4 bricks with grooves. Why would that be there, if not for another function? Either way, I don't think you can definitively say that the wings do not fold out, much like I can't definitively say that they do. There's evidence to back up both sides of the debate. As noted by Lego Fett, we'll just have to wait and see.
  11. That is true. I will say that I will make it my life goal to heavily modify the set if I turn out to be wrong.
  12. My theory is that it wouldn't fit on the box art if the wings were folded out. It barely fits with the wings extended. Also, the measurments leaked in the set descriptions might confirm my theory. The set is 20 cm wide, but it doubles that to 40 cm with the wings "fully extended." I am positive that the description was not refering to height or length, it clearly said width.
  13. Minor correction, Kylo's ship was in the second teaser, not the first. Personally, I still think the wings fold out. Maybe I'm being too optimistic, though.
  14. I don't believe that any LEGO Store will be participating in the midnight launch, but it might be worth a call to your local store to get a confirmation either way. Regardless, they'll definitely have the product on the shelves when they open on the morning of September 4th, so you can just go then if you wish.
  15. To be fair, the embargo sounded a lot more strict than that. You made it sound like we would be banned if we had even acknowledged that the sets exist. People were just trying to choose their words carefully, I suppose. Either way, this thread kinda feels pointless at the moment, and that's because the embargo lifts on the day that the sets are released. What is hype? I'm still hoping that the wings fold out, and if they don't, I'll be the one to come up with a modification to fix that. The shuttle that we see in the second teaser looks a lot more grandiose and menacing with its' wings folded out, IMO.
  16. Hypothetically, if one were to simply zoom in on the picture and look closely, one might see a third set of arrows, indicating another stage to the alleged wing functions. I'm not hypothetically crazy, just allegedly optimistic.
  17. Like I said, perhaps a set of arrows indicates something a little more grand. Hypothetically of course.
  18. I still (ALLEGEDLY) think that the hypothetical wings on a particular Lead Villain Vehicle will fold out, due to some arrows on the back of the box that I totally didn't see. Does anyone else hypothetically think that this is possible?
  19. Loving the leg printing on the 3PO figure. Very nicely executed. In my personal experience, TRU always has the exclusive polybagged sets available for purchase, entirely seperate of whatever promotion is going on. I'm guessing this is a regional thing, as others have pointed out. I doubt my local TRU gets a ton of business, so in my case it's probably a matter of overstock. The polybags are usually a decent price too, anywhere fron $2.99 to $4.99 depending. Either way, I don't think anyone needs to worry about this polybag being rare or scarce. There's always enough of these things to go around. I've had cases where my local LEGO Store, as well as my local TRU have given me three(!) free polybags, simply because they have too much. Worst case scenario, you'll probably be able to pick one up on Bricklink for a (fairly) reasonable price.
  20. This is incredible. I had a sneaking suspicion that was the case, and now it's finally confirmed.
  21. Exactly. Plus, if they really wanted to prevent leaks, they should've done an official reveal a long time ago. I genuinely don't see how images of a product that's being released in 2 weeks is a bad thing. These sets (and other toys from other companies) are expensive. Individuals and families alike need time to plan & save up money. How can they do that if they don't even know what the products look like? It's inherently anti-consumer to hide your product this close to release, IMO. This is similar to video game companies having review embargos until after the release date of the game itself. It creates a distrust between the consumer and the business, which is always a bad thing. JUST TO CLARIFY, I support Eurobricks in its' endeavour to comply with Disney and TLG's wishes. But you better believe I've been spreading these images as much as I can on other sites.
  22. Slightly off topic, but I've already re-created 4 of the sets (as accurate as possible.) in LDD! I doubt I'm allowed to post them here, due to the recent enforcement of the embargo. Probably one of those grey areas, but I'm not going to risk it.
  23. Again, I'll ask: What exactly are they trying to accomplish by "supressing" these leaks? From a consumer standpoint, this is really terrible marketing and PR. I do realize that AFOLs are not the target market here, but that's exactly why they need to ramp up the marketing. Where are the TV commercials? The ads in catalogs? These sets are being released in two weeks, and I bet the large majority of LEGO's target market isn't even aware that they exist... Insane. They should've just revealed these sets at SDCC, even D23 moreso. I was even expecting them at Celebration a few months ago... Regardless, I suppose it doesn't matter, because almost everyone here has seen them. That's all I wanted. I'm glad I can finally plan what I'm going to be purchasing on the 4th at midnight. I wasn't going to go if pictures weren't leaked.
