LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
StoutFiles replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Is it elongated? At first glance I thought it was a much improved Class-6 escape pod, it's supposed to be bigger than the one used in the last set. -

How long are we going to all comment on how overpriced the sets are? That's the reality of Lego Star Wars right now, it's incredibly overpriced and will stay that way. -

Looked at the X-wing a little closer...the technic on the back looks horrible. But an even bigger concern, did they put R2 in sideways? If so, this is even worse than the '06 model. -

I wish everyone would realize that X-wings are black with a gloss white coat, then weathered for a white/gray metallic look. It doesn't mean they're gray, it just means the white has been weathered. They are white. Go sandpaper the paint off your car, your car will be gray but the true color is whatever it was originally painted. -

Well, the cockpit is the same and there's still a gap between the wings when they're not in attack position. If he's unhappy he deserves to be. -
Nice, but this really should be moved to the Star Wars Funnies topic.
-
That would be pretty fast. Are you including piece sort time before you clock yourself? That build time is possible with a good sorting beforehand, unless you're a master at quickly finding parts in a large pile.

UCS sets are an investment more than anything, they hold their value really well. Yeah, it's expensive now, but in 5-10 years it will be worth 2-3 times more than you paid for it. Fretting about the price doesn't make a lot of sense, it just makes it that more valuable when others don't buy it. As for the bottom, has anyone looked at the studio model? It's practically flat. Its not that big a deal to make the set flat and let people display or play with it without having the stands.

He has the right to change the prequels and Episode IV, as he directed them and they are his vision. As he didn't direct V or VI, he has no right to edit them. When directors do release director cuts though, they give the option of watching the original cut, not editing over the original 35 mm film and trying to change history. 30 years from now, the only version of the untouched OT will still be on DVD as a poor Laserdisk conversion. This has nothing to do with your opinions on whether the changes improve or hurt the movie. I enjoy some things about the SE, for instance. I do, however, want the choice to watch one or the other, especially for future generations watching for the first time. When you add dialogue and try to hide the original, you change history. As for Lucas getting 100% credit for everything SW, that is untrue and needs to be said. Lucas started an idea, and collaboration made SW what it was.
-
Haha. The original OT was a collaborative effort. Have you ever heard what the cast would have been had Lucas not been challenged? If you know nothing about the history of SW, or filmmaking in general, then please don't state your misguided thoughts as facts.

Please, someone confirm this isn't true. Reports are that the new Blu-Ray SW added Darth Vader's "NOOOO!!" from Episode III into Episode VI when Vader throws the Emperor. They even have video of it. http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Star-Wars-Blu-Ray-Adds-Darth-Vader-Screaming-Nooo-As-He-Kills-The-Emperor-26504.html I want to say it's a hoax but it's just something that Lucas would do. He never stops. I know this isn't about Lego but it is about my sanity. Edit: Some additional research has multiple sites confirming it.

It wouldn't be surprising, glass would just reflect things, like large cameras filming them.

Probably two years.

I think everything about the ship is great except for the mandibles, they're much too long. Very nice how you shrunk it down though.

Can we be sure that isn't a TIE shuttle? -

Unless they plan on making the Sail Barge a UCS, they shouldn't touch it. They'll never build a system Sail Barge at a respectable scale. I vote for the Shuttle. It's one of the few ships I would replace with a newer version. -

I'm not saying they couldn't use a redesign, every ship can be improved, but I wouldn't use the word desperate. We will get a remake of all the TIE's, minus the Defender, before the license ends I'm sure. -

I wouldn't say the interceptor is desperate for a remake, nor is the bomber. They just need a color swap to match the x1 colors. I don't normally display them all together but will do so for this topic. They look fine this way I think...and the new TIE/ln, while better designed, would look off next to these fighters because of the redesigned cockpit. If I get the new one it will be to mod the wings only. -

We had an A-wing on '09...do we need another one this soon? Haha, I wouldn't consider "all" the system sets crappy. The new Tantive IV, for instance, is arguably better than the old UCS set. Every year they don't release a new Cloud City, though, is a failed year for me. Still holding out hope that they'll replace the Death Star with a CC set. -
I will wait till late October for the early Christmas deals.

Pretty good. However, the character that married them, Maxiron Agolerga, was an old man. An old man Obi-Wan head would work better here.

Peter's R2 would cost a fortune. No way were getting something that nice unless TLG goes the (1 in 5000) route to justify the price. -

Can we please stop acknowledging the blurry picture? The reason that stuff gets made is because you all debate it endlessly. Stop giving the YouTube troll what he wants and let's move on. -
EBAY SCAM: UCS Millennium Falcon10179 - £186.99 NEW
StoutFiles replied to skyliner's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
This scam has been gaining ground lately. Sell enough small items to get ranked high enough, then go all out in a short period of time selling a bunch of high priced items at a huge discount. Cash out all the money and disappear. Just think about it, who would have over 20 UCS Falcon's and then sell them for much lower than market value? Much less than they were originally worth back when they were on the market? If you fell for this then I'm sorry, but use your head. -
Good review. Your pictures are better than in my review for sure, but I feel this review would be improved by showing off some of the older Hoth sets and Hoth figures to show off improvements to designs. Define combined. Before I mixed the sets together, I put them next to each other, but it looked like a door next to a Classic Space set.
