The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Legocity2713 replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
Perspective may not be helping the situation (a view from the top down) but it is not the true problem. Just because the Hulkbuster and Clayface are seemingly the same height means nothing. The Hulkbuster had correct proportions, Clayface is almost all entirely torso and head. Hulkbuster had an extra pair of joints to give him knees and hips, Clayface just has those short stubby legs. But of course, full judgement is reserved until final pics and reviews are released. Also, to those people complaining about others "complaining" about Clayface's design and are questioning why the "complainers" even hang around the hobby: the simple truth is that we buy what we like and not what we don't and we're vocal about it. Its an internet forum after all. If we see ways of improving the set we make those known too, like just adding knees ala the Hulkbuster to the set's design would help tremendously. The people who like Clayface's design and can't seem to wrap their heads around others not liking it are the same people who critiscize other sets fifty percent of the time. I don't mean that to sound harsh but what the others said just rubbed me the wrong way. Carry on. -
This is so awesome. :) I feel like both inside and out it fits with TLG Modular Street, not an easy feat. So well detailed and still clean. Nice work. :)

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

Ok... as of now Clayface is shit. Until somebody can make his legs longer so everything looks proportional I'm not gonna like it. How can he look so good in the trailer and complete trash in the set? The Scarecrow set is pretty awesome. I love the pizza vehicle and the toll booth type of thing as well as all of the figures included. Even if it's not a typical Scarecrow his face looks good and his other parts could be used for some Arkham Knight type of thugs. Anyone who follows the TMNT TV series the pizza with the scary face could be used for the "Pizza Face" villain that was in one of the episodes or it could just be used as some added situational comedy to a Lego City pizzeria set or MOC . And while I love the toll booth and the Gotham Energy sand green builds as stand-alone structures none of it fits together no matter how hard they try to sell it. The smallest sets are some of the strongest ones of the series though. -
Sick box art for both sets. Thanks for the pics CM4Sci. :)

Seems like there really are no coupons in the calendar this year. *sigh* You can color the pages though... so I guess that is a plus for the kids...? Pic credit to BizzyBlox on Instagram.

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

Not a fan of the Scuttler itself, it just seems a little too unique. Barbara with the GCPD vest and the recolored Robo Swat legs from TLM is perfection! That Ivy is amazing as well, love the printing and the swirl in the hair. Commissioner Gordon is nothing special; I just don't like his overall design in the movie really and while he has cool arm printing he just looks too much like a British Empire admiral or something of the like for me to like the fig. The balloon set on the other hand is great overall. Love the cheap way to get Joker and a cool Batman as well as the multicolored balloons. The ability to attach the wall to the one in the Mr. Freeze set and make an expanded Ace Chemicals layout is also a welcome addition. -
The ATV is one of the best we've ever had, it just feels complete... unlike the Starter Set, Mobile Command Center, and the High-Speed Chase. (The last of which looked better in the prelims somehow) The police torsos look great and are not yellow specific making them more versatile and I'm digging the construction/blue collar/everyday person motif with the crooks, makes everything feel more real and grounded. Also... Chase McCain! Great to see him getting some love again. Definitely going to pick up the tow truck but that impound lot and car carrier looks great too. We need more fresh ideas like that. Super Mario overalls on the crooks in the Starter Set is also a little funny thing to take note of!

That Batgirl comic and pizza tile are great. :) Not a fan of how the minifigure looks with the minidoll's hair though. :/

Exactly. Look, if they don't want to make new molds for any Sonic stuff and not give us Eggman then Shadow is the way to go. Cool character that'll definitely be an awesome fig. :)

Will there be coupons inside the calendar this year as well? -
The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

That cannot be anymore false. The foreign market, especially Europe a lot of times, gets the new wave of sets months in advance. Case in point, the most recent Superheroes and Star Wars wave of sets. It occurs with other things besides Lego like movies or action figures or new technology. Each movie comprising the Captain America trilogy came out in Europe earlier than in America... the country is in the guy's name for crying out loud! That is just the way business works, sometimes the US market gets the products earlier other times the world market gets it. This whole woe is me route can go either way and ultimately you're just waiting an extra month or two for what is just a toy when you take a step back. Anyway, this isn't the place to discuss this but I just wanted to give my 2 cents. -
Thank you. :) I'm in the US so I'm not sure if it is he same here too. Or still if it has coupons.
-
And to add on to that it appears that the calendar does not have any more coupons to use throughout the year. :( Can anyone verify this information?

The December Lego Store Calendar is out. Gingerbread Man figure is the giveaway, similar to the Chicken Guy from earlier this year.

It reminds me of some Arkham City dilapidated square when there are no figures and if you would remove some of the pieces. It just looks a bit messy. :/ That said, the designs of the buildings are good and I love that the bakery is the plug/source of the illegal cookies, it's just the colors of the model are throwing me off.

^ The 2012 and 2013 ones were some of the best ever. 2014 ones were pretty decent too.

I also love it that we'll have two Vultures out at the same time so we will be able to choose which set we want to buy/which version we want to have in our displays and collections.- 5,808 replies

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Legocity2713 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I sort of agree with the car analogy another member had made. Lego is ultimately a hobby, like coin collecting, it only becomes expensive if you make it expensive. There are plenty of affordable coins to collect just as there are Lego sets. Lego's products range from $3.99 to $400+ so there are plenty of economy friendly sets in between there it is just our job as a consumer to know where our cutoff is and to buy within our means. If your cuttoff is $30 on sets and prefer to collect figures and order parts mostly online for Mocs like me, thats cool, if you buy the expensive sets to display, thats cool too. So it really isn't jusf for the rich at all. There are options. -

Credit to "ghostmind" over on NeoGAF. He is actually pretty credible with Lego news and such so if this is real, this new modular is gonna be truly insane. -

Delta.customs posted a close up pic of the Riddler in his green question mark suit on his Instagram. Pretty cool fig. :) https://www.instagram.com/p/BLWR1ISjBgw/?taken-by=delta.customs
