LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
brickbuilder replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yeah, it's been so long! I only realised that recently. 2002 Clone Wave - 2008 Clone Wave = 7 years. 2008 Clone Wave - 2012/2013 Clone Wave = 5/6 years. Seems about right. Well if they do Theed in the first wave, then it'll probably be 7749 style, or an AAT with scenery for $60. Both of those would be nice little sets in my opinion. -

Well, the TPM theme is likely just for now. I don't see reason for them to keep releasing PM when other movies are being rereleased as well. I don't think they will just consider Clones and Sith as Clone Wars. I think they will have separate sets for those as well. I'm not saying there wont be PM sets in the 2012 summer wave, I just think focus will start to shift over to Attack of the Clones. Also, like I stated before, it seems like a good time for lego to start a new generation of Clone kiddies, with a gunship, AT-TE, and other sets. They could either do this with AOTC this year, or they could do it for ROTS in summer 2013. Depending, in 2013, we should see phase 1 or 2 battle packs. I'm not sure which of the options I like better, but I am kind of sick of the CW style clone troopers, and would like a return to EP2 or 3 Clones. -

If LEGO does release a Royal Starship, it would almost definitely be gray. -

Well, they didn't release a single TPM set for the tenth anniversary in 2009. -

Yes, but in 2013, AOTC will be released in 3D, and in summer of 2012, they could focus on AOTC, just like how in summer of 2011, they focused on PM. -

I think it is possible that we get a $25 AOTC set in the January wave. We did get the Battle of Naboo last January. I'm having trouble thinking what it could be though. In the summer wave, I think they could do an AOTC wave, with a Gunship for $120, an AT-TE for $90, and a Slave 1 for $80, followed by Clone and Droid BP's in 2013's January wave. It seems like a good time to begin a new generation of Clone Army Builder kiddies for TLG. I'm just not sure if we will see another MTT. Call me crazy, but I'm really not feeling that they will do a remake of that set. If they do the same as this year though, and add a 7th set to the summer wave for $140 (the MF), instead of the usual 6 sets, then that will probably be an MTT. There is no way it will have the same price of $100. That was a miracle, and a price of $140 would be much more realistic for an MTT. Also, I'm interested in what the set with Queen Amidala will be. It could either be a Theed playset, or a Royal Starship. The starship would either be $60 (unlikely), or a retailer exclusive ($40-$80). More realistic would be a small Theed playset for $25, like the Echo Base $25 set, or a $60 set or a retailer exclusive with a tan AAT and some scenery. Or, she could be part of the mysterious second 2011 LEGO Exclusive. -

Okay, well I haven't seen a proper summary of the wave yet, so here goes: Endor Rebel Battle pack (?) $11.99 Scout/Storm Trooper Battle Pack (?) $11.99 (?) $24.99 (?) $24.99 TIE Fighter $49.99 (?) $59.99 (?) $39.99-$49.99 (Retailer Exclusive) (?) $39.99-$49.99 (Retailer Exclusive) I think we will get a Tan colored AAT as the $60 set, maybe with a STAP. But also, it's possible the TIE is a retailer exclusive. -

Wow. That TIE fighter is epic. I mean, I never thought I'd see something like that from LEGO. Except the cockpit ball definitely needs some work. Also, the new minifigs are great. I wonder what set Queen Amidala will come in. But I still hope for a little bit of Clone Wars, even though it's good to see that it isn't hogging the spotlight for once. And maybe it means that this summer we'll be getting AOTC sets? Either way, it's time to start a 2012 topic! -
I mean Clone Wars as in the same time period. But maybe it's PT-OT
-
Well, this calendar is something you can only buy at SDCC, so it's a Comic Con exclusive, like the cube dudes last year. Last year we got cube dudes and the JSF as a LEGO exclusive. We still do not know if a LEGO exclusive is to be revealed. Last year we found out about the exclusive a few days before though, which hasn't happened this year. Maybe LEGO is just making every effort to keep it a secret. Anyway, we'll all find out in an hour or two, when the Lego Star Wars panel is on. Also, even if it is not announced at Comic Con, there still will be another exclusive/UCS this year, no doubt about that. By the way, I found something that may be a coincidence, but it could also be the start of a pattern. For the past 3 years, LEGO has released 1 OT exclusive, and one CW exclusive. So this year we got the Executor, so now it's likely we get a CW set. Just a thought.
-
Well there definitely will be a second exclusive, so if you are right, I wonder when it will be revealed? And if it is at at comic con, the LEGO Star Wars panel is on Friday anyway. Also, last year, we got January 2011 rumours at the beginning of August, so I'm starting to look forward to hearing about 2012 sets now too
-
Last year with the JSF, didn't we hear leaked news/pics a couple days before SDCC? I'm not entirely sure.
-
Well, back when I was 9, and the UCS Star Destroyer came out, all my friends and I weren't concerned about minifigs or playsets, we just wanted that awesome lego ship. And I saved up allowance, birthday money, I mowed peoples lawns, and I got the money, and bought it! And I've heard many other similar cases. Not everyone is just looking for minifigures or play features. EDIT: I understand though that more people that are in the position to buy UCS/exclusive sets prefer OT. But that shouldn't mean they should be exclusively OT. (bad pun) EDIT 2: And I never said that the Venator wouldn't be a playset...
-
I'd say a Venator. And the JSF didn't sell poorly because it was PT, it was because it was badly priced and boring. I'm sure 10 year old clone kiddies would save up their money for a UCS Venator cruiser. I know I would
-
I was reading through the older parts of this thread, and I came across this post. Lots of people were saying the second exclusive would be smaller because of the size of 10221, but maybe not! It could be a droid control ship or something (just speculating). Yeah, yeah, and I know you guys are all talking about Hoth Echo Base, and I just keep going on and on about the SDCC exclusive
-
I'm not sure about those, but according to nrg, a new 10XXX LEGO exlusive will be revealed, either like a UCS, or something like the Tantive IV or Dropship with AT-OT.
-
We'll find out at SDCC in about a week.

Is that the Brickarms Minigun handle there?! Nice! The design is nice, except I agree the front is a bit too far out.

Looks like there is going to be another preview of Season 4 at Comic-Con this year... -

Cool. I hope we'll see some ship designs from 2012, like how we saw the ARC-170 in some brickfilm last year. Thats really all I care about -
Oh yeah, and for the $50 set, "Mandalorian shuttle, $50, comes with Obi-Wan, Duchess Satine, 1 or 2 Mandalorians, and Pre Visla." Edit: And a Darksaber
-
Well at last years comic con, Obi Wan's JSF was revealed, so I'm assumung that this year, again, the second exclusive will be revealed.
-
I'm really hoping for a CW Phase 2 battle pack in January, possibly versus another droid pack. I know about the whole 1 year movies, 1 year CW thing, but it's possible they do a switch, and do the endor packs for the anniversary of ROTJ in 2013 (I understand this will be very controversial with some OT fans ). I'm thinking maybe 2 white phase 2's, 1 501st trooper, and maybe a Scuba trooper or something (I'm not too sure about this one). It's about time we clone fans got our 501st trooper! Then for the droids, maybe 2 B1's, 2 B2's, and a Commando Droid. After all, the last droid pack was in 2007, and droids are kind of a big part of the Clone Wars. And I understand if they don't do the switch, and we get rebel commando's and scouts next year, which would still be awesome. But, I still need a way to get my phase 2's, sooo: Eta shuttle, $60, comes with Adi Gallia, Anakin, Phase 2 Rex, and a Phase 2 clone.
