LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
brickbuilder replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Whoa. I was reading through the beginning of this thread, and I found this post. There was a rumour we would get a new X wing. I guess that backs up what Mirandir says a bit. Just a little snippet of info I found, nothing big. -

I still think AOTC will have a bigger impact than PM set-wise. TLG will want to re-release some of the main CW sets as AOTC while it's in theatres, and we all know how much kids love the CW. Seeing AOTC will probably get them all hyped up. Well more than TPM did anyway. -

Okay, I admit things are starting to get silly (UCS Cloud Car), but I still believe Mirandir. As Capt. Kirk said, it is going to be a special year... Or something like that -

That definitely is possible, but not in the winter wave. It could be happening this summer though. Come to think of it, this year is 2006 all over again... Commander Gree! That's just awesome. Hopefully this means the set is from the Landing at Point Rain series. And hopefully it is NOT one of those ridiculous "Super Tanks". So no Phase 2 clones, even from CW? Gree is phase 1? -

Very interesting! There is a collectible set that it would make sense for Amidala to come in. It could be a mini/midi Nubian, then. The OT sets shouldn't be that tricky if they are remakes. Just a TIE, X-wing, Y-wing, that sort of thing. And I am quite curious about the EP3 set. It could be either $60, $50, $40, or $25. It could be some kind of walker, like an AT-AP, or it could be 7749 style. I just hope it comes with Phase 2 Clones. Also, I hope the other CW set (not the BP), also has Phase 2 Clones. -

But then again, these new $10 impulse sets seem to be different than normal sets. A mini set is a whole different experience than a system set. Assuming of course the $10 sets are just mini sets that come with figs. I guess they could be small vignettes, or little things like speeders, turrets, and walkers. I like the second option a lot better. -

Whoa. I doubt they are celebrating anything, it must be a coincidence. And like the TIE, some might appear in other movies too. I am interested to see the other CW and EP3 set, as most of that has been covered. Also, I can't possibly think what 5 other ANH sets could be, unless they are all remakes. -

TLG wants kids to spend less, and teens and adults to spend more. The TFOLs and AFOLS spend more because they want to build up one faction, and the get stuck with the other figures too, and the kids spend less because they only need one battlepack. Yes, thats right. My nephew is nine, and he only buys one of each BP, and he thinks I'm crazy for buying nine or ten. And then if kids want to spend more, then they buy more and they are in the same situation as the teens and adults. Anyway, I'm just rambling on and I probably don't make sense, but we will see when KimT gets back. EDIT: Actually what Mirandir just said makes way more sense. -

Well, to me everything seems plausible. There's a first time for everything, and a lot of these new choices by TLG do have some logic behind them. I guess we will just have to wait for KimT to come back from his vacation. -

Hmmm. So they must be from the same movie/trilogy? A display stand. So it must be a vehicle. Too bad, I was hoping for (modular?) vignettes. And hang it from the roof?! I don't see how that has anything to do with it. You can practically hand any set from the roof. Unless you mean it comes with string and stuff to hang it. So my guess is that they are smaller sets, maybe $15-$30 bucks. I think the minifigure will be more detailed, and just be for display on the stand. I remember in another thread people were saying that UCS sets should come with one highly detailed minifigure to put on the stand for display, so it could be kind of like that. Well that is a huge hint! This is like a puzzle. So I'm guessing the new concepts are all OT. And two of them tie in with episode one. Easy! Mos Eisly! The second one is tough though. Once again, Thank you for the rumours. -

Like I said, they are like the CM's, but actual sets. Anyway, these sets will probably be overpriced, but maybe they could be mini/midi display pieces, with a high amount of detail, similar to UCS but scaled down. Or it could be minifig-scale, but again with a high amount of detail, and highly detailed minifigures. Maybe it could be something like the Architecture sets. They could come with a little booklet with info about the model, some screenshots, and stuff like that. Although it does seem like TLG is getting a bit lazy with the Architecture sets... As "Mirandir" said on this page. He also said these are separate from the 6 system and 2 SE sets in the Jan. wave, making for a total of 11 sets. Obviously, these are still rumours though. -

Well we are getting 6 system sets, one being a TIE, then it is rumoured that we are getting one endor BP, and one Clone vs Droid BP. Then two retailer Exclusives/SE sets, then another rumour says we also get three sets that are similar to the Collectible minifigures, except they are actual sets, and they aren't randomly packed. -
Just scored a 7676 Gunship for $30. Also bought a Dropship with AT-OT, 9 Clone Walker Battle Packs, and 9 7913 Clone Trooper Battle Packs.

Yeah, thats pretty much what I was thinking. I don't think it will be like 8038, because there are too many rooms to cover. I have to say, I think I would like that set. Because I actually kind of like Echo base. -

Then again they could do it in gray. It seems like the kind of thing TLG would do. I wouldn't mind too much, if it was well designed and everything. But I still think Theed is more likely anyway. -

Umm... 7749 was a summer set. We usually get 3 $25-$30 sets in the summer wave. But an 8038 style set is also likely. -

One possibility that I think is quite likely is a small Theed battle scene, similar to 7749. -

Actually, this is 2012 Pictures and RUMOURS. While the TIE and Amidala set are confirmed, the battlepacks and the "collectible concept" sets are certainly rumours, so I think it is okay to discuss them. -

I think "nrg" is just going off patterns from previous years. First of all, the prices in his summer list most likely aren't accurate, because the prices usually vary by $5-$10 each year. Also, with all the new patterns TLG is starting this year, I don't think it's safe to make any assumption according to previous years. -

I'm failing to see how the hint says it's a PT set... And maybe the special surprise is these "collectible sets" Mirander mentioned? -

Wowsh. So six sytem sets, 2 SEs, and three of the new concept! Thats a lot of sets! I'm very excited to see these new sets. It's always interesting to see TLG start new ideas. Thank you very much for this information.
