LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
brickbuilder replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Sweet, new pics! The new box art is lookin' good. I'm going to organize my notes on them. CW BP: The Cannon looks pretty meh. But the ARF and ARC have me excited. The ARF has a phase 2 torso, so I wonder if the clones are going to use phase 2 from now on? I sure hope so. And it looks like the ARC will be blue, unless it is just a placeholder. I really hope it is though, because TLG really needs more blue clone gear, as all we have is Rex's helmet, which is really not usable for much. I am also curious as to what TLG will do for the ARC pauldrons, as the current ones don't fit on phase 2 style helmets. Endor BP: This looks like a great army builder! Only problem is no new figs, unless they print the scout trooper or something. But that's okay. Geonosian cannon: Looks kind of thrown together from what I can see. Figures will be great though, good to see the winged Geonosians. Also the handheld sonic blasters seem pretty interesting. Droid escape: Looks pretty sweet, Escape pod seems very detailed. Also good to see more stormies. TIE: Wut? No prelims of the TIE? Anyway, it's frickin' awesome. X-wing: Nothing to get excited about. Design hasn't changed much. It's an improvement over the last one, but I hope it improves in the final pics. JSF: Looks good. It'll be interesting to see how it improves from the last one. Also, I'm sure the figs will be new, it's not like we'll get CW Anikan and stuff. Also, I'm still relatively new, so do we just get these pics, then the final ones, or do we see them through different stages? -
There is a new set/superpack on LEGO.com, called "5000066 Sith Kit". It comes with 2 sets, and it says it will ship in 30 days.

What?! Of all the 2012 sets they could have pictured on the catalog, they put the TIE that we have already seen! Anyway, good find. And it's pretty late for still not seeing prelims. It should be any day now. -

Wow, that's actually a logical idea! I never thought of that, but I was always wondering what the MF was all about, since it was a random and expensive 7th set in the summer wave, and we usually get 6. For now, I'm just going to assume that is the case. -

Well, check out this topic ! It says that the set numbers and names were removed by request from LEGO! I think that's some good evidence right there. Also, it says both sets are released January 1st 2012. Maybe that compensates for the fact that we aren't getting a second Exclusive for 2011? Anyway, both of the sets don't sound interesting to me. The only UCS sets I have are the ISD and the Imperial Shuttle. Probably the only other things I would buy are a Venator, some kind of separatist frigate, a Nebulon B, a Rebel Transport, AT-TE, RGS, or, a UCS Republic Frigate. -

Yeah, that's what I do too! The JSF set will be awesome, and I can't wait to see it as well. And don't forget the new Nute Gunray! And the Jedi Starfighter won't be the yellow one, it'll be the dark green one Anakin flew to Mustafar. I also can't wait to see how they pull off the X-wing, and the ARC Troopers. Unfortunately though, the Y-wing and the JSF are retailer exclusives (Or SE sets). So we will probably get pics of the 6 system sets any day now, but the pics of the exclusives will come much later. Last year, we didn't even hear about the Battle for Geonosis and Mace Windu's JSF, until someone got one of the January Wave sets early, and there was pics in the advertisement section of the instruction booklet. -
Looks sweet! There is a lot of action going on. But for Commander Colt's pauldron, I'd recommend to get it from MMCB Capes. And how did you get a rangefinder in the Arealight helmet?!

We aren't getting any of those clones, we are getting the ARC Troopers from the Clone Wars cartoons. -

Naww, last year we got pics on the 25th of August, and the Retail Catalogue is already out, so I'm sure we'll get pics soon. Hey, I saw that display in person! -

I don't know if this true or not, but on Imperium der Steine, it says that the Commando Droids will be the Dark Gray ones featured in the Clone Wars episode "Rookies. They look like this: Then the ARF and ARC trooper will be from the episode "ARC Troopers". So the ARC could be the Red, Blue, or Yellow one, or Commander Colt. This means it can't be ARC Echo and Fives. The ARF, will be this Rancor Battalion trooper: -

Dude, slow down! You're posting in every other post. Try to compile your thoughts into less posts please, to keep the topic cleaner. -
I picked up the Sith Nightspeeder, General Greivous's Starfighter, the Imperial V-wing, the Geonosian Starfighter, and Mace Windu's Jedi Starfighter. I was surprised by the Imperial V-wing, it is actually a great set. I will probably be picking up a second.

You mean the set that says it's "Unknown"? I already asked KimT, he said it is just a template for future 2012 sets (summer sets). -

Well there's always the possibility of a surprise 10195 style exclusive smack in the middle of the first wave. -

How do you mean "similar to this year"? -

Ah, good point. It means that nothing made after ESB is as good as the Clone Wars. I somewhat agree, however I think ROTS was pretty good. Anyway, I wonder what kind of commando droids we will get, as there are different variants. Hopfully we get one of these guys, from the Citadel Prison episodes, with a trans-yellow shield. -

We'll I wouldn't say it's as good as ESB, but I definitely do think the Clone Wars is awesome. The Landing at Point Rain series was one of my favorite storylines, and it's good to see they are doing a line of sets from the episodes, just like the Hoth and Endor lines. Hopefully we get Geonosis BP's soon. -

Gaah! I thought you had found prelims! Anyway, owning those is unacceptable. I think they will encase them in a cardboard box, and then there will be a small plastic wrap around the center holding it together. But seriously guys, who cares about the packaging! Let's see some prelims! -

So these sets wouldn't ever come with any exclusive figures, would they? Because a lot more people would buy them. They could just be the same figure, but a little more detail or something. And also, in 2009, we got rumours for the 2010 summer wave at the same time as the winter wave. So I'm assuming that won't happen again, will it? Yeah I know I'm being greedy. I just hope we get pictures soon. -

Well an aqua droid would be pretty awesome. But that would just be too many new molds in one set. I'm sure we'll get one eventually. -

I'm sorry, I didn't realise. It's just as it was his first post, I thought maybe he didn't know the rules around here. But I understand that the kiddies can get quite annoying on these forums. Well there are only 2 CW sets, and one is a Clone BP, so no Jedi there. Then the second set is a small one, so one new Jedi is pretty good. The only time we get more than one new Jedi in a set, is in larger models like the T-6 and the Frigate. I'm sure we will get more Jedi in the summer wave, especially if we get an AOTC wave. There are many minor charactors there that haven't been done yet, like Coleman Trebor, Evan Piell, Etc. And also, we are getting redone versions of ROTS Anikan and Obi-Wan in the Jedi Interceptor set. -

Arc troopers? What about them. Maybe your post should be a bit more elaborate next time. But still, I have to agree, ARC Troopers are awesome. Welcome to Eurobricks. -

Anyway, the names could be comepletely preliminary. They are probably the easiest thing to change before the final release anyway. -

They are not unrealistic. KimT wouldn't have added them to the first post unless they were confirmed by his bothan spys. And, Jedi News and Mirandir agree, and Jedi News is right every year. And, Jedi News has the same info as KimT. So I think it's safe to say these are confirmed, unless TLG makes any changes to the line-up. -
Yes, we have seen that picture. Thanks anyway.
