Very nice vessel. The technique works well here. And I also like the full scene with the tarp-water and little island.

As for voting with your wallet, there are -- let's see -- zero other legitimate Pirates sets available right now? And the theme has been dead for how long? That makes a huge difference. Fans are starving for anything, and they'll take anything. The Black Seas Barracuda is a classic, no question. The first set that features a new BSB (this set) is probably going to sell like hotcakes for that one reason.

[COR ChIIICatA] Great trading houses of the Lotus
Captain Dee replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Beautiful both in design and colors. Great effort on the roof sections in particular and I really like the corner ornaments. -
[OL - Ch.III - Cat.A] Pagoda by the Lake
Captain Dee replied to Kolonialbeamter's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Y'know, Kolonialbeamter, this might -- might -- be an okay design if it was, like, twice as tall. As is, it's barely tall enough to be visible...- 11 replies

[COR aMRCA] A Diplomatic mission
Captain Dee replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I am enjoying these latest builds and the storyline is getting rather interesting. The atmosphere in the warehouse scenes is nice and foreboding and that bridge hideout really illustrates the tense situation well. Dude. You, like, totally gotta build this, mannnnnn... -
@Captain Braunsfeld You aren't late. There's plenty of time! Brickinson and the Pontellis will certainly attend. Is George the monkey? And would you permit me to swap the graduate cap/mortarboard for a tricorn and/or wig? I'll see what I can do for Capt. Cookie. But all must understand that swinging from the chandeliers will not be tolerated. @The Sarge Perfect! You said you'd do a family pic and you sure did. Umm... could you ID the body parts of the 2 ladies in dresses? Ok, that doesn't sound right, but you know what I mean. I don't have those 2 dresses, so I'll have to do some shopping. Ok, that also doesn't sound right. I'm not good at this. Also, what is the torso piece worn by the maid and coachman? @Bodi Sure! That torso is pretty cool, so I'll see about getting it. But I'm concerned he isn't wearing enough medals/medallions.

Nice fort. It certainly captures the frontier look. And good job posing all those minifigs. That native is rockin' that morion. Perhaps he "acquired" it from one of his enemies? Good luck with your ventures.

[OL - FB] - Late night delivery
Captain Dee replied to blackdeathgr's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Ummm... if they really wanted to be secretive, they should've used, like, a black horse. Neat build. It looks rather desolate and unforgiving. I won't even venture to ask what's going on. Nope, I won't ask. I won't ask at all. -
Could New Chairman Signal New Direction?

Dude. The dad has 2 normal arms and a spare hand coming out of his shirt collar! That's awesome. -
[MCTC: Salida Este] Seaside Fort
Captain Dee replied to Kai NRG's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice fort. The brick separators work well for the roof and the angled walls look great. I tend to envision the outer walls of such forts being most if not all of the visible structure; as shown the upper works are extremely vulnerable, but they do look good. Some of the texture bricks look a bit odd to me, specifically those plates mounted stud-out with the gaps beneath them. If breaking up a smooth clean surface is the goal, then it's a success. And the light aqua just seems so random. Otherwise, I really like it.- 34 replies

Now that's a fresh take on a subject (sistershipping builds) that can be a bit stale at times. That interior looks great. I think lighter colored floors in general display the minifigs better, and the brown walls help bring out the redness of the dark red curtains. Those tapestry pieces are perfect for this and I like the elegant simplicity of the candle holder. The purple coin pouch (BrickWarriors?) is a nice addition and matches her hairpiece perfectly. And it looks like the cat is staring at its reflection in that ring!

Captain Cookie’s Pirate Training [Part 1]
Captain Dee replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Ah, you're back! With another (Toy) Story! Nice ship/brig. The tan plates as sails look better than white. And the pic with "too large" of a crew looks about right to me. -
The Naval Licensing and Prize Court
Captain Dee replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great! Thanks. I will transfer the funds tonight. Edit: I attempted to transfer the funds but I had very poor service and I was unable to determine if the transaction actually went thru...
