Haha, that's awesome. That's exactly what I did. I have a dedicated Elvendale folder with all the images. I'm wondering where the theme will go too, I hope it continues for a long time. My Elvendale won't be finished for awhile though, because I am on a budget and can't get all the extra Elvendale elements I need just yet. It's a WIP at the moment. Have fun with yours.

That's cool, K4Kitty. Managing a lab must be time consuming, but interesting I'm sure. I agree the Jacaranda is a nice tree. brickpreviews, that journal is cute. Too bad they don't have them here in the US. My son and I love to art journal and are both elves fans, I'm sure he'd love one.

I also live in Massachusetts, so I know exactly what you mean.

Oh my, I've seen these before, so beautiful. As stunning as they are, they can become quite invasive in the wild by taking over indigenous plants. When maintained though they look lovely grouped with Bougainvillea (dark purple), Piuva *Pink Trumpet Tree (pink), and Illawarra Flame Trees (orange). They create quite a spectacular landscape. Very much like Elvendale. Thanks for pointing them out K4Kitty. Bricknblue, some Japanese Maple varieties feature purple leaves. One specific variety that produces purple leaves year round is known as the Burgundy Lace Japanese Maple. There are a few other plants that have varieties which do also. http://treesandshrubs.about.com/od/selection/tp/purpleleavestreesandshrubs.htm The Acacia Purpurea (a most beautiful tree) features purple leaves as well. These Acacia trees I could definitely see in Elvendale.

I think that would work nicely. I wish I had the money to buy more than one hideaway. Instead I'm carefully planning in LDD, to know exactly what and how many pieces I'll need to complete my creation. I agree Iria. I started building a larger hideaway in LDD. I thought it would look better; taller and wider with more foliage. They seem rather bare for trees. I'm planning to make the inside of the trunk functional as well, considering there's a window in the design. My plan is to re-create Elvendale. I have quite a large list of elements elements needed, it's definitely a work in progress. Especially considering I have to rebuild my Lego collection (lost or gifted everything I had as a child), so my MOC will take some serious time to complete. I don't get to work on it (or purchase necessary elements for it) as often as I'd like; because I am the mother of a very energetic, extremely exhausting child who hasn't yet started school. There's a first time for everything, and I'm sure it will turn out amazing, you have great ideas.

Haha, reminds me of Say Anything starring John Cusack. Great movie.

Same here. They look awesome. I hope they're available early to VIPs, because August is too long to wait.

I think making it more village-like is a great idea. I am planning to do just that with my sets. Treetop Sanctuary meaning from the Friends line? Or do you mean the Treetop Hideaway from the Elves line? Either way I think they would both be a great choice. Some of the friends elements blend well with the Elves theme. The Elves sets are very well put together, I agree. But I'm definitely going to mod them a bit. It's more fun that way. I'd love to see your village setting if you go through with it. It's hard not to like these sets. They grow on you. I think Emily is meant to be less appealing, I mean she's only a human after all. Haha. The detailed printing on the Elves though is spectacular. A lot of people have commented on how the line would be better with minifigs, but IMO the figures wouldn't be as detailed. Yes it's true, they don't have much mobility or mod ability; but neither did minifigs in the beginning. The Elves theme is too good to pass up. Definitely bad news for wallets and bank accounts everywhere. I'm only missing the ship, but I'm probably buying it today.

Nice mod. Creative and well thought out, the pictures look great.

Stunning choice of fabric. Looks magical, much better than the white.

Great alterations Very innovative, nice modifications. I adore that Friends/Elves mash-up flying scooter. Naughty pets, always getting into mischief.

Ooh, can't wait to see your village. I love seeing other people's creations. It's fun to see how they'll utilize their Lego elements. Good luck with your savings.

They look great! I especially like Faramir's top, well done. I'm not sure if I'd change anything.

It seems the Lego site is having technical issues again. The same message is up from a few days ago.

Very detailed and creative. Nice work.

Nice arrangement Velouria. All the little extras you added are a nice touch. Looks like Johnny was busy baking those chocolate chip cookies Farran likes so much, he deserves a break in his little loft after all that hard work. I wish I had given in and bought some of the LOTR sets, because I'd love to have the elf hairs and mushroom bits. They would compliment the MOC I'm designing. I was considering some of the Hobbit sets for that purpose because LOTR sets are hard to find around here.

Thank you Balbo. I'm sure I will enjoy, there is much to do here.

Same here Velouria. I had an interest in the LOTR collection, but resisted temptation to buy it. But when the Elves theme called out to me, I couldn't resist. I tried, but I failed. The fantasy element that drove me as a child; spoke to me in a way I cannot explain, and now I'm planning an Elves MOC of Elvendale. So of course I was delighted and intrigued to read that you've adapted a small Elven Village from the sets. I would love to see it, I do hope you get a chance to post photos sometime soon.

March's Double VIP- What are you buying?
OmShanti replied to TheFuzz's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I wanted to get the rest of the Elves sets, but had to pay bills instead. I get paid again this Thursday, so hopefully I can still get them during the double points period. That is if they haven't sold out by then. -
Hi, my name is Aimee. I am a female aged 31. I used to love Lego as a child, but lost my collection and therefore my interest. Years later, I developed an interest but never entertained it; until... I became a mother. When my child turned 5, an interest in Lego had bloomed so much that I had wished I'd bought the sets that interested me over the years. Still my interest wasn't enough to buy for myself, so I dropped money into Ninjago & Castle sets for the little one. It was the Lego Elves that sparked my interest enough to actually buy myself some sets, so I do hope that theme lasts. I plan to make a MOC of Elvendale sometime soon, it's a WIP since I'm still collecting elements. Aside from Lego, I love all things crafty. I am a self-taught artist in many trades; art journaling, drawing, painting, carving stamps/wood, repurposing/upcycling, crochet, sewing, concocting homemade shampoo/bodywash/lotion/etc, bookbinding, landscaping, etc I look forward to joining the great conversations here.
