  1. Haha I watched that movie last night, and this is a great likeness to that character. Can we get an over view of the vig? I think if you changed the arms to black it'd tie the coat in better.
  2. OK I've added a bit more to the base.......might still change again though.
  3. " So I guess it's not first in, best dressed then" Stoat mutters as he reads the quest sheet.
  4. Respect the almighty pickle in all his pickleyness...praise be. Well done Phred, I'm sure you'll do a pheckin' good job too.
  5. You need to get on the boards more...you're heaps funnier the that ISC guy.

    Fight the power man!!

  6. Seemingly unaware to the banter and social awkwardness about him Stout pipes up addressing no one in particular, "Did I ever tell you of my adventures amongest the giant Pygmies of Beckle?"......no one seems to take the baited question, Stoat continues anyway "twas there I last saw my intrepid spaniel Stig.......how I miss that hound".
  7. Sir Stoat struts into the hall " ah...heyah, long time listener , first time adventurer", Stoat winks at Purple. "The name's Stoat, Sir Gladius Stoat....heyah" Stoat flashes his million dollar smile and heads for the bar. "Who does a knight have to slay to get an ale around here" Stoat chuckles at his own lame joke, "but seriously I'm thirsty for ale ...and a good old fashioned quest of righteousness". Stoat is ready to Quest. Stoat sips his ale as he reads the quest board...."Hmmm the Siegfried's eh I like those guys...That'd be the quest for me....after all I'm not in this for the money" Stoat announces this loudly enough for the other questers to over hear, then shoots a smile and a wink at Nyx...." Heyah ". Signing up for Quest #3 Sir Gladius Stoat, Level 1 Knight 30 year old Male Human Power: 4 Health: 10/10 Gold: 10 Inventory: Potion, Broad Sword of Smiting (WP: 3), Shield (SP: 2)
  8. Gum ball machine! Kicking total big behind lately Hinck, I've drooled over lots of your creations in the FBG thread and have even started a few MOCs with the limited Fabuland pieces I have.....they don't make it far before getting scrapped though. I think it's about time I pulled my finger out and gave it a solid effort.
  9. Don't be so quick to throw LEGO in the "big bad corporate" basket, when confronted by Greenpeace about their use of unsustainable paper products TLG were quick to air their position on the matter. This gives some insight into the social conscience of TLG, making it hard for me to believe they would pay their employees less than the local award wage.
  10. I've not been to school yet.... Maybe next time.... The history of the world according to Taz: The term "fortnight" was coined from the period of time Roman soldiers who were garrisoned on Hadrian's Wall had to wait before they could sleep inside the fort(two weeks). Just doing my bit to fill your head with useless trivia. Disclaimer : Taz takes no responsibility for any misinformation he may provide ....quote him at your own risk.
  11. As others have said, start small, build a house or a small diner. Once you have your basic shape try adding details and features to it, you may find you mod and rebuild this one creation a dozen times before your happy with it or before it resembles your vision. Just build the facade to start with not the whole building ( whole buildings are brick heavy and can easily become too much early in the design process). Try something cool like this, Don't limit yourself to the town forum for inspiration and building techniques, you'll find all sorts of nifty techs in castle, sci fi, and the pirate MOC forums, that will come in handy when tackling fine detail. Once you start MOCing you won't be so worried about mixing your sets as they're all just bricks at the end of the day. Most importantly don't be afraid to post your progress, while some may run you down for your efforts, (those comments are not in the spirit of EB, and are frowned upon by most of us) most will give you feedback to help you improve your builds and encourage you to keep going. We all started somewhere and people learn at their own pace and have their own style, if everybody built the same we'd get tired of looking at each others creations. Good luck and stick with it.
  12. What a beauty, Well done on a great ship! Well deserving of a place on the Blog.......so [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]

  14. Noted ISC, I'll give it some thought.....it is all about the minifig though right? That said a perdy vig doesn't hurt in the voting.
  15. A little something to get category 3 started......get it, chaps.....see what I did there.... WW Cat 3 on EB by Taz-Maniac, on Flickr WW Cat 3 on EB by Taz-Maniac, on Flickr Vest and chaps by TazManiac. Guns by Brick Arms. The rest by LEGO
  16. Don't lose hope Pep I rate castles as one of the hardest subjects to MOC. To start of I'd avoid using larger bricks for the walls, the colour deviation is good but to bold IMO. Try to stick to 1x2 bricks and use 1x1 round plates mixed with 1x1 and 1x2 plates to get some texture. Depth is another great thing to add to you castle so instead of leaving you windows flush with the rest of the wall/tower give them some trim whether it's a protruding surround or embedding the window itself it will help avoid the flat look. I see you built a "foot" on th left tower (the angled brick at the bottom) I'd try this along the whole wall, every 4 or 6 studs and see how that looked, if it looks wrong I'd at least give the other tower the same treatment. I hope something in that rant will help you, though there are much better castle builders around here that could point you in the right direction.
  17. "Dust Bunny pLelt Poacher"...Mmmmmm soft furry plelts, make damn fine thneeds. Given by ISC....or Hinckley *shakes fist at the sky* Truth be told I prefer them scrambled.
  18. I'll get this [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp] .....soon
  19. Blackpyre Jack Sparrow can't escape the Classics : 3 points Duke Brabossa's Ballad : 2points I could have split them down to 1 point each with some of the other great entries but these guys won me over and I'd like to see them place. Good luck all.
  20. I'm keen to take part in further testing so count me in. So who dares challenge the the Hell Hound and who will join her ? We'll take Blue Coat faction so the other team will need to be pirates or reds.
  21. Great mini build. Better get it [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp] ......soon
  22. That's awesome, can't wait to see it in the brick. Great choice of backing track too!
  23. Great ship, love it to bits! That'll look good on the front page. [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp] ......soon
  24. Great entry . Nice to see the standard set for this category and well done getting it in so quickly, mine is still early stages. So many sweet details through out this build, it really has that western feel with plenty of humour as well. Good luck in the voting.
  25. It shows a great deal of courage on your part to try something different with the inverted plates, and I think it has worked well in this MOC. Your horse design is great and I'm sure it would look even better in real life. I wish you the best of luck and hope to see more from you in future.
