  1. First off I think you ment to say $179.99Au. As to why we pay more here in Australia it has to do with our standard of living and minimum wage not how our dollar is doing on the stock market. TLG sets it's RRP base on local economy not global, basically what people will pay in that region. I may be wrong here but I'm pretty sure that's how it works. So with our strong dollar your best bet is to buy from the USA or just cop it sweet.
  2. Sounds fair to add a % of damage when raking fire occurs, maybe added chance to kill the captain/crew with stern raking fire.
  3. Indeed. Even with the time difference things seem to be playing out at a good rate.
  4. Can you make that E/18
  5. Sounds fair to me, but the anchor can be dropped at the end of a turn after movement if attack did not occur?
  6. HellHound maintain heading F/19 And that's why we don't sleep post ladies and gents.
  7. Can we drop anchor to hold our position or do we have to be "in irons"?
  8. Love your work Dan and this is no exception! Like others I'm diggin' the sheep and can't help but think those gaurds are spitting abuse at one another from their posts, with the occasional clash of fistycuffs.
  9. Great stuff the scale is spot on. That tower will bring in parishioners from far and wide. My only advice would be some more subtlety in your green path, plates instead of bricks would help it flow better but that's really being picky. Great job and welcome to EB.
  10. I think the general rule of thumb with these games is you must make a move every day, more would be great but with time lines all over the place it can be hard. I'm here every couple of hours if not more (except the 7-8 hours I sleep but I'm working on "sleep posting" )
  11. What Horry said word for word. Still the pride of my collection and the reason for my return to LEGO was partly due to rebuilding this great set. I just wish I still had all my sails As others have said great review. Long live the BSB.
  12. That's all well and good but where in the word is JohnPaul I'm in Australia and Horry is in Germany so I'm 8 hours in front of him. ( Don't worry about the world ending today it's already tomorrow here)
  13. HellHound: "Maintain heading" G/20
  14. I think birds eye photos are the way to go, for better viewing see my zoom in proposal in the beta thread.
  15. As the ships become closer will the grid zoom in to show greater detail while still keeping the corresponding coordiates ie E F G H I J K L M N O 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14
  16. HellHound set course I/22 ( N/W)
  17. What an amazing first ship well done ! It looks great. And welcome to Classic Pirates I'm sure you'll love it here.
  18. Not a very big fleet yet but I do have : The original BSB The Caribbean Clipper My HMS HellHound Plus 2 WIPs in the dry docks.....No you can't see them yet
  19. Flickr member Squareical Notionalist shows us with this clever vig that no matter where pirates go nobody loves them. Pirates Just Aren't Loved Anywhere by Squareical Notionalist, on Flickr
  20. That's why we Beta Test. 24 pounders deliever 35 points of damage each. But I'd need to connect with every cannon on my broadside to get the max damage. My 9 pounders should be 14 not 18 damage, but Horry told me 18 though he was probably half asleep at the time. (Theatre can kill the brain when you have a show comming up) You might want to check the rules again.
  21. We'll let Horry make that call, though with two ships you could flank me more easily. Maybe your move/attack phase should be split between your fleet, but again we'll let the "game master" make that call. Edit My Do. is now fixed to Gun stats were wrong .
  22. HMS Hell Hound.doc
  23. For the Beta test Horry will act as the "Game master" and will guide myself and Captain JohnPaul though the first sea battle. Please feel free to follow along but this is not a discussion thread so player only posts. Thanks and enjoy.
  24. Trevor Van Aalst from Flickr said "Southern Alberta LEGO users group spent the weekend of June 17-19th 2011 at the Calgary comic and entertainment expo. We decided to go ahead with a Pirates of the Caribbean display; one of our lug's first really collaborative displays. We really seemed to get a very positive response from the public and the members also seemed to have enjoyed spending the weekend with each other and doing the building for the show. Cheers all and here's to having the next show go as great as this one did!" Trevor's fort by Trevor Van Aalst, on Flickr Lots more on his Flickr.
