I believe over hang was to be allowed and I'd include a border as over hang, Go for it!

So it appears not all is lost for Avalonia just yet...fantastic build SilverSmith But it will take more than one nice tower to win this challenge I hope for your sake that your fellow guilds-men can follow suit and produce some quality towers like you have shown us here.

Stay away from the west....I hear there are horny men in trees . A great start to your guild tough it could use a little work, maybe more of a structure in the tree like a tree fort ? a few small trees amongst the under growth? and make sure Lorax doesn't help you....she's ours! Edit: You need to have your guild standard (flags) in the build to qualify.

It's all about quality not quantity, we brave few shall bring darkness to all the realm.

A lava fall was on the cards but like you said this is the gateway to our kingdom and I wanted to depict the transition from grassy plains to barren waste land. Fear not there will be plenty of lava rivers to come. Is there any thing my guild brothers/sisters feel is missing or could do with a tweak? I've got plenty of time to rework elements of this build.

General Grimm's out post is the gate way to the East, Hells Gate is a narrow pass that is well guarded by Grimm and his troops. If the guild colours are not enough to make you turn tail perhaps the heads of your countrymen upon pikes will change your mind. I totally agree with the above statements, this initiative is supposed to unite the history forum users and provide some fun and comraderie amongst our members, not divide us into sub themes. We've had some great response to the sign up thread so we should be able to get some groups sorted soon.

Looking at the results of the poll regarding guild builds , it doesn't look like we'll be bound to our factions style (and no one is going to stop you building whatever you like either way). We are just trying to strengthen the community and add a little spice to the history forum.

Cheers for all the positive feedback guys! I'm in the middle of another build at the moment but when it's complete I'll return to the shire to build some neighbours, some interiors ect.

I like the idea of a "whack a guild" type build off's and it'll be great to be able to group some themes for the purpose of indexing ect , but I don't want to see this go the way of Red and Blue over on classic pirates, it's fun to have a laugh and poke some fun, but lets not make the guilds a defining characteristic of the history forum..... remember all castle figs were created equal, well almost.

I understand it can be a bit disheartening to not get any replies to your thread....maybe people were waiting on an update before passing on advice or criticism. If I could give some advice, maybe focus on your build a little longer before presenting it, it's better to post one refined MOC every three days than a rushed one every day. We all need to start some where and it takes time to build like Derfel or I Scream Clone . It's also good to start small to find your feet and style, while 32x32 might seem appealing 8x8 is a great place to start out. Best of luck with you building.
