I've heard that Bionicle/constraction sells very well in Eastern Europe. I wonder if the countries where the theme has sold best is getting most of the sets (also getting them early) whilst other countries would get smaller quantities and get them later?

It depends on where in Canada you live. There are none in Ontario, but I was told some of the western TRUe currently carry them...I don't know how particularly reliable that information is, and I know that none of the toy carrying stores I usually go to have them yet. I'll check Monday for a Toronto location and let you know what they tell me. As it stands, nothing yet.

Is 2016 the best year ever for CCBS?
Fulcrumfan91 replied to TwistLaw's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I actually think we haven't seen the best year of CCBS yet. I firmly believe 2017 will have some surprisingly good Bionicle sets coming out. How many come out is a different story. So far, I'd say 2016 has been a good year for the theme, I've enjoyed it the most. -
Which is the worst wave of BIONICLE G2?
Fulcrumfan91 replied to TwistLaw's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I don't think it's fair to label the waves as "best" or "worst" mainly because different people will like different things, as is the nature of the world. For one, I love this summer wave, I prefer the beasts so much more to the skull villains which I thought were a little more bland as villains. HOWEVER, I think none of the waves are extremely bad....I can think of so many waves in G1 which were way worse than any of the waves in G2. For example, I think the Inika were weak sets, ditto with the Piraka, and Hordika. The Stars were atrocious. I'm sure other people really liked those waves, but just because I didn't like them, didn't mean they were the "worst" waves. Some people like me really like this summer wave for innovative functions, risks taken, etc., similar to the winter wave of 2016. -
Star Wars Constraction 2016 Discussion
Fulcrumfan91 replied to Logan McOwen's topic in LEGO Action Figures
But wouldn't releasing another Darth Vader nearly a year after the last one (which costs much more compared to those prices listed) be kind of redundant? If he gets shrunk as well....it would make this one a lesser version of the last one. My feelings tell me Vader will not be one of the figures for Rogue One. I still think Director Krennic would be one of the characters made into figure form since he's the main villain. I wouldn't know what a third possibility would be...perhaps a Boba Fett, or another different looking Stormtrooper. We did get two in the last wave...so Id on't know if they'd go for more this time around. -
Star Wars Constraction 2016 Discussion
Fulcrumfan91 replied to Logan McOwen's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I don't think the price tag gives LEGO a bigger budget for these sets.....they have to pay extra for the licence regardless, so the heightened price might help to pay Disney a piece, while recovering revenue equal to what a Bionicle set would be worth. I think the budgets for the Star Wars figures are also bigger because they're Star Wars sets, proven to be popular. Hate to say it, but Bionicle doesn't seem that popular. Also, I agree that the summer wave has been very much experimental...but I would argue the winter wave was also experimental. I believe each wave has consisted of a balance of 50/50 villains and heroes. For the first wave, Luke, Obi-Wan, Cody vs General Grievous, Darth Vader, Jango Fett. Force Awakens: Finn, Rey, Poe vs Stormtrooper, Phasma, Ren. I don't believe it will be any different this time...and from what I've seen, the droid is an ally of the Rebels (?) so he might be a hero. Two heroes so far, which means one is left, while two villains are still unknown. Also, I highly doubt Han Solo is one of the figures. I would say...the General in white robes is one of the other figures, and likely another Stormtrooper. -
I have yet to see any of the sets in my area in Canada :(

Hm...I'm going to collect this whole wave eventually, but I will not get Quake Beast first. It'll have to be Umarak and Lava or Storm Beast.....it's such a tough decision because the function is awesome but Lava Beast looks better. Also, does storm beast remind anyone of Gadunka?

More cache images have been added to the brickset site for a couple of the summer sets Also, pardon my asking, does it seem odd that we have still not gotten any official reviews of the summer wave? Usually Theyre out around a month prior to release...but we're around 10 days away and still nothing other than the few who procured the sets early from TRU.

I think intentional to make the beasts look odd, disproportioned or ugly...they're supposed to be monsters. I mean, everyone can still hate on them, but I think because people do hate on them, the designers succeeded in portraying them in that way...obviously that might be to the detriment of this wave. I still believe they are great sets, I love the new functions (wish Lava Beast had something more interesting to offer in that respect...still his overall design is quite nice) and don't mind the colours or the odd looks of the sets. I think these are much better than the skull villains, who I still think were decent sets regardless of their flaws. Set designers are limited to what they have for these sets and they've proven that they can make the best out of what they have, so I definitely am not complaining about this wave.

I like them all....of course naturally, they didn't have as big a budget as the winter wave, so there will be gaps, but the ideas in those designs are awesome and you can really see each creature adopting a type of character to them. I love how clunky Quake Beast looks, makes sense considering he is some earthly deformed abomination. Lava Beast is stellar and has an imp-like vibe to its design. Storm Beast....is dubious, I'm not yet wholly convinced on that one. Although I love the design of the tail and mechanism....it kinda suffers from a lot of gaps. Still, even with Quake's colours, I really do like him. I get the designs, or at least I feel like I do. I wholly disagree with that statement. If the line has bombed, which we don't at all know it has, it wouldn't be because of the summer sets at all...mainly because they haven't even been released yet. They can't be detrimental to the line. Ironically, it would be those same winter sets which have contributed to the line's demise.....not that I truly believe it isn't selling well. I have a bad feeling it isn't doing well, but that's all that is, a feeling and nothing at all official. To err is human.

What would you ask the LEGO Bionicle team?
Fulcrumfan91 replied to VBBN's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Yeah my biggest question if any that I'd have for them is why did they get rid of the beautiful keetorange shells on Lewa the second time around? Also, why they chose to construct some of the legs (like Lava Beast or Lewa) by simply using small axle entry points? -
This is really difficult because there are so many good masks..but if I had to pick one so far, I would say Pohatu's Uniter mask is my favourite mask design by far.

Perhaps this magazine will continue the graphic novels where they left off? It could be a reason for why the third one was cancelled....though I feel that'd be more wishful thinking on my part.

I would be disappointed if that honestly were the case because I'd love to get at least one more wave of Toa....but I would not be surprised if that happened.

I have some news! So I called a TRU in Canada inquiring about the summer sets and according to them, these sets are due to be released in August, not June or July....take that in any way you want, but someone has made a mistake somewhere. Edit: TRU are odd....I called a Lego store and the summer wave should be released on June 1st as expected...however, I was told they will not be available in all stores...only a couple of larger locations and online. Also, they said another set will be released after that...but I could not get any details about it as they themselves did not know anything about that other than it was being planned for reelease. I don't know if they meant Umarak or not, but this is the info I got.
