  1. Check that the connector block is making proper contact and then try again with the connector coupled directly to the battery box and use battery switch both ways to see if OK or not. If still not working "gently" ease out each connector in the plug and try again - I find this often fixes the issue with PF componants apparently failing.
  2. The spockets support the conveyor belt at each end. The part referred to supports the complete discharge conveyor unit allowing it to slew along the two gear rings. As indicated by the red arrow. slewingwheel by Doug Ridgway, on Flickr
  3. Zoomed in on the Lego video and the wheel supporting the discharge conveyor is made up of two 21mm wedge pulleys with a spacer in between to run along the rim of the new gear racks. 8 new gear racks for the bucket wheel / 4 for turret turntable / 2 for discharge conveyor. = 14 pce.
  4. It would require Suction and discharge valves at both ends, I.e 4 valves in order to be double acting.
  5. Box image is very fuzzy but think it says 34 inches or 86 Cm with conveyers extended.
  6. I estinmate height of turret above top of base = 40L Length of Boom from Bucket Wheel to Battery Box = 90L base: 25 L wide (not including the tracks) x 9 or 10L high Width over tracks = 35L Track sprocket centres = 35L Correction its 31L Are those new yellow panels around the rear of the battery box ? Found it: It,s p/n 6133245 as used in the new 42049 mine loader set.
  7. Its stripping overburden off and transfering across the site to back fill area that has been mined. At left side of photo can be seen the scraper buckets arm working to remove the over burden.. The spoil is transfered by conveyor and dumped at several points to cover up the previously mined area again. Whole machine runs on two sets of tracks and just goes back and forth. The smaller machines below are doing the actual mining of the mineral - probably coal. There are a lot of weird huge machines used in strip mining along with massive reclaimer units. Found images of one machine that has two bucket wheels. Both these machines used for recovering stock piles. pr300-2 by Doug Ridgway, on Flickr pr600-1 by Doug Ridgway, on Flickr
  8. I have found when building cranes that using worm drives helps stops the jerkyness in long drive axles. Allows drive shafts to rotate at a good RPM to eliminate the flexing as the large gear reduction is done close to where it is required at turntable or drums. My tower crane with 75L long drive up the tower suffered from jerkyness at first, until I moved the large reduction from the motor at the base to top of the tower just below the turntable / rope drums. Definitly something I will be MOCing when building the BWE.
  9. A mini version might be possible with the new gear quadrants from the BWE set !!
  10. Which Toy Fair as prices seem to vary depending on which country ?
  11. Have a look at this web page - has all sorts of equipment that the BWE could be modified into. http://mining.sandvik.com/en/products/equipment/bulk-materials-handling
  12. I plan to build a bulk ship loader with this set.
  13. Check out Brickowl.com and select UK for listings.
  14. Post # 128 35 teeth per quadrant = 140 Only PF is a XL motor and battery box
  15. My 2H 2016 lego Build program: Buy 42055 Build model A - enjoy the build, improve A model colour cordination and functions. Strip down and build B model - improve B model Strip down and use new turntable gear racks to build larger crane. Add remaining parts to spares boxes. Buy another 42055 ?
  16. Sandvik PE100 - looks as if discharge conveyor is connected to another machine to spread the soil when strip mining. 40142-2839683 by Doug Ridgway, on Flickr
  17. Found this YouTube video of all the Lego Technic at the London Toy fair - has some good close up views of BWE plus the other new sets.
  18. see this link for full list of new set prices; http://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-london-toy-fair-2016-set-details/
  19. London toy fair quotes £179.99 for BWE.
  20. See reply #43 it's looks very similar to a Sandvik PE100 which is smaller version of its big brothers.
  21. The half turntable ring will be for slewing the discharge conveyor. Anyone worked out the diameter of the new turntable parts ?
  22. Look to be based on this:- http://mining.sandvi...pe-series/pe100 Blue colour looks better and would match the crawler crane.
  23. On my wish list for 2016 and ideal for full PF ungrade.
