[MOC] KTM x-bow mini
Jurss replied to Jurss's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
yesterday everything went pretty fast and well. Some preliminary pics. Functions - direct drive :) engine and HOG steering. Weight - 154g. Need to upscale :) Will rebuild front, as it too low now, will go for 3 stud height, will try fit front lights. -
[MOC] KTM x-bow mini
Jurss posted a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Started as TC30 entry, but did not found time for second model, so renamed to MOC. Again started something (don't know how much I started contests previously and didn't finished), will really try to finish this time. First weighting of first duo component after this I know, that I can continue pretty freely HOG and engine first iteration ready Also some exhaust Can You guess what will be second part of duo? -
Yes, also noticed those small panels, they don't seem to be necessary. Also, for estethics You will need some mudguards at rear, most probably. What else I can suggest, don't use half bushes at rear, turn around wheels, axles then could be shorter, and you will save some 5+ grams maybe, which You can use somewhere else. One more thing - try to use for HOG steering half width gears.

Technic/lego doesn't have to be so curvy ;) Lego is pretty elastic, sometimes You just need to remove something, then other sections are stretching, and it is not always needed to disassemble. Yes, there are risks braking something.

Are You seeing my profile picture? Somehow I don't see it. I see others. -
To make it automatic, You need some input. Don't know what that could be, or even if powered up can read something from motor. I think, it knows motor speed, but that may not be enough. Maybe to compare selected gear and motor speed, then set for each gear allowed speed.

Good progress so far. Proper model for these tires. And prope timing for this build. Will You finish tMOC together with rally? Is gearbox automatic somehow, or what? Was not shure from text.

Like the idea. And separation to parts is interesting :) I just still not shure about this contest main idea. -
Studio 2.0 Help
Jurss replied to Sjitbox1337's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
In LDD it was pretty easy, in Studio possible, but with some struggle. Just retry many times until success. When You will read forum rules, You will find out, hot to do that ;) -
[MOC] Portable radio receiver
Jurss replied to Jurss's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Theoretically that could work. I just don't have there space anymore for that. Or I could get rid of battery tray. Or relocate it to side. I just need then to sacrifice some lego cable for this. -
Yesterday had inspiration to build something, and idea was about portable radio with some functions, of course as for technic forum.I don't have any sound brick, so it doesn't have any sound, but You can see some kind of fake speaker behind grill. Battery tray at the back Antenna rised Some look on internals For "tuning" wormgear is used. Tuning is done by upper knob. With lower knob it is possible to "switch on" radio, which just lits up two light bricks. Position is simply fixed with those black balls locking on those black connectors. Because of those worm gears in way of light, illumination has specific pattern. Maybe will remake so, that light is reflected from some white panel, as from those light bricks it is pretty directional. As all wormgears together had pretty big play, almost half stud, but not that half stud, to make legal build used rubber as spacer, to fill gap. Without this, at some point that "pointer" could just stuck between two wormgears. Handle also is usable, as it is reinforced with internal tube. Final note - it weights 272g, but I don't have intention yet to participate in contest, and weight was not a goal. When I started, I even didn't knew, that contest has been anounced.

500g is aproximate weight of car transporter cars. -
It lloks really good, I like it. To make it more authentic, closer to original, there are those narrow tires now available, with the same height. And isn't there really parts to make tip front of bonnet more rounded?
