  1. I’m so sick of the dark orange hair on Black Widow, it’s just ridiculous. The rest of the figure sounds amazing though, especially the accuracy and leg printing, although it sucks it’s a reused face print AGAIN. Taskmaster sounds disappointing to me- black normal hood and no leg printing? Ugh. At least make the hood dark blue.
  2. So is the Venomized Iron Man from that set and not a GWP? I can’t wait to see the Black Widow set!
  3. Damn, that would be awesome! Can’t wait to see the figure.
  4. That sounds amazing, but what set would it come in? If it’s the summer isn’t it super early to hear about summer sets? Or maybe this is the other retailer exclusive and we aren’t getting two Black Widow sets.
  5. Two Black Widow sets would be absolutely perfect! One $20 and one $30 like Black Panther is the best scenario, although of course I’d love two bigger sets. I hope we get Natasha in her white and black/grey suit, Taskmaster, Yelena, and Red Guardian. With two sets maybe we’ll also see Melina.
  6. Totally forgot that Hulk Helicopter Rescue released at the start of the week, but I snagged it on Target.com for $48 which is a much better price. Won’t be able to build it for a couple weeks but I’m excited. I’m hoping to get another one when it’s half off or less.
  7. Love that polybag! Disappointed that there’s no Maria but I’m surprised to see two figures in what I’m assuming is a wide release Marvel polybag.
  8. Ok, the Vulture set is pretty meh, but god do I love that Thanos mech! I also like the spider crawler bike thing, it’s more interesting than a normal oversized bike at least. I also like the jet but the Venom mech isn’t interesting. I don’t hate the Mysterio set, either, and I’ll probably snag it on sale. Honestly, the only thing that really disappoints me about this Spider-Man wave is the repeated villains from last year’s wave. The only ones they didn’t reuse are Sandman and Green Goblin. Vulture and Venom didn’t need to be reused for sure, and I wish we had gotten some new villains or at the very least more interesting redesigns.
  9. Ugh, I’m not a fan of that Iron Man Mech...I hate it when they use minifigure heads as the heads of mechs and the shoulders seem really wide and awkward to me. I hope the Thanos one is better. I like the bike and truck sets well enough, the AIM side builds are pretty cool and I’m actually really liking the unique armored look of the truck.
  10. Yeah...I like this helicopter just fine and it’s got nice features and an interesting build, but for $60 they could have made a playable Leviathan or maybe even a Sanctuary II which would have given us some sorely needed villain things considering we got none for Infinity War or Endgame. I’m super surprised that they didn’t even make a Q-ship. There are 2 unique vehicles that could’ve been made before spoiler sets and after spoilers the Leviathan or any other army vehicles could’ve been made...
  11. Yep, official pictures look amazing, and I love that there are pop-up machine guns and a rotating display stand! The price is the best case scenario, and I’m impressed that there are three new pieces altogether- that windshield is awesome and I’m surprised they made custom tires for the front wheels. The back wheels are definitely using the Tumbler tires. Can’t wait to pick this up!
  12. I think it’s more likely that the minifigure scale version will be free with purchases of $75+ when the UCS Batmobile releases, like the mini versions of the Creator Expert cars.
  13. It’s a new goggles face, not a reuse.
  14. €280 probably means $280, so while it’s not as good as $250 at least it’s not $300. Really wish they’d just reveal these things before shipping them out to stores.
  15. TLBM had the soft Batman cape on several figures. Malfoy in the HP series also had a soft cape.
  16. Only around another three weeks before official pictures and reviews (probably)!
  17. It’s not uncomplimentary to say, either. Minifigures are included because the designers know they’re valuable to a lot of people. Exclusive products, no matter what they are, are always valued more. Removing exclusive and desirable figures from D2C sets drops their value, but it doesn’t make the actual set any worse. It’s not unflattering to point out a truth the designers are well aware of. I’m fairly sure that the inclusion of exclusive minifigures has never stopped someone from buying a D2C set, but their inclusion has certainly made people buy them. The actual product is of course valuable on its own, but that doesn’t stop the exclusive figures from also being valuable and dropping the overall product’s value when removed.
  18. Exclusive minifigures in D2C sets is a practice that I hope LEGO doesn’t stop. Not everything is available to everyone and if I’m paying $200+ for a LEGO set I want it to have some collectibility beyond just the model. Of course large Creator Expert models don’t need or contain figures, but buying a 1989 Batmobile and not having the associated figures from the movie included would be really lame. I’ve never bought a D2C just for the figures but they’ve definitely made me want those sets more. I really don’t see the issue with it because if you want the figures badly enough you can buy them online. Yes, they’re expensive, but it all depends on what you want and if you think it’s worth the price. Expecting every minifigure to be equally available to everyone is not a reasonable expectation, and exclusive figures in D2Cs isn’t very different from including exclusive figures in the most expensive sets of a given wave (for example, Kylo Ren and the Knights of Ren being exclusive to his shuttle and Lando being exclusive to the Falcon in the new Star Wars wave). Most D2C sets have a shelf life of 2 years or longer. The only DC D2C I’ve seen with a shorter shelf life was the Tumbler, which was a little over a year.
  19. I hope we get the press release before the 22nd! I can’t wait to see HD images of this beauty. I don’t say this lightly but I think this set is one of the best designed official sets I’ve ever seen in terms of the aesthetics and accuracy. It’s just beautiful.
  20. If the price is really $250 USD I will jump for joy. That would be a fantastic price.
  21. It looks like it’s using the Tumbler tires for at least the back wheels which is awesome!
  22. Holy shit. That Batmobile is a thing of beauty. It looks incredible and I think they’ve done a pretty good job of maintaining the smooth vs studded surface ratio. I love the little roof stand for the figures but yeah, the UCS plaque needs to be attached to something. Couldn’t they have at least made it its own basic little stand like the Tumbler one or UCS Falcon one? The only qualm I have about this set is the price. Yes, it’s a licensed set with 3300 pieces, but I do not want to be paying $300 for this. I’m really hoping it’s $250 like the Jurassic Park D2C with a similar piece count. Also, one vehicle with 3300 pieces? I’m hoping it has some functionality unlike the Tumbler because that’s a huge piece count and price for a car that does nothing.
  23. Yeah, that was a major red flag in the SDCC set for me: two exclusive figures? I believe that Maria has a new face print in that set as well. I really hope the whole set will be available since I like it quite a bit, but I’ll happily take just the figures. I don’t know where just the figures could pop up, though.
  24. I also quite like the look of the power blasts on certain characters. The power burst pieces are very nice but they have a more sputtery, fiery look that doesn’t work as well for certain characters, and power blasts look pretty good and work very well as a play feature.
  25. Maybe not. @Falconfan1414 just posted a pic of the SDCC set on his story and said “don’t waste your money just yet”. Maybe it’ll be available via the VIP rewards system or the figures will pop up somewhere?? I really hope so!
